Memverse Flyer
We have a new "God Has Spoken" flyer available for download here. I encourage you to take a look at it and print some copies to share!
January is always a great time to invite people to Memverse. Everyone is making a fresh start for the new year and there is a lot of excitement about memorizing scripture.
Thanks to Emeka Rajis for doing an amazing job on the flyer design!

I think we should ask if we can put one of these up on our church's bulletin board. Does anyone else from HRBC agree?
InSoloChristo says:
01/07/12 at 13:57:15
This is really great! It would need a lot of ink though.
@CheifOfSinners: No, I don't think we'd have to ask. (Especially if Wretched Man did it.) Heritage Reformed Baptist Church needs more MemVerse members if we are going to keep crawling to #2! (I can't see us getting any higher than that - at the moment.)
Leah says:
01/07/12 at 15:01:08
Awesome flyer! Thank you, but I agree with InSoloChristo---lots of ink.

What is a "God Has Spoken" flyer?
Alex Watt says:
01/07/12 at 23:25:31
Octavius - Emeka has a gift for design and uses Adobe Photoshop and other tools.
Ian - "God Has Spoken" is a unique name for this Memverse flyer; we have another flyer (available from the "Referrals" page) and may have others in the future, so I thought it was worth mentioning the name of this one.
BibleBeeJunior12 says:
01/08/12 at 02:00:42
Oh cool! Hi guys - whats been going on lately?
Ian R. says:
01/09/12 at 19:53:54
Thanks Alex for the "God has spoken" Part, but I don't know what a Memverse flyer is.
Alex Watt says:
01/09/12 at 20:34:53
Ian - A Memverse flyer is just a flyer about Memverse; you can share Memverse with others by giving them the flyer. :)
Ian R. says:
01/10/12 at 18:49:06
Thanks Alex for clearing that up. :)
On-Christ-The-Solid-Rock-I-Stand says:

I would also like to thank Wretched Man for making several copies of this flyer and handing them out at our church.

God's Maiden of Virtue says:

@BibleBeeJunior12-- I can see your posts too. Congratulations on memorizing your 40th verse! That must be exciting (considering the fact that you haven't been on MemVerse for a while). I just memorized my 256th verse today! I'm excited about memorizing 300 verses.
Oh, and, Happy Birthday! It looks like you just turned 12 recently. I will be turning 12 on February 19th.
When is your birthday?

Phil Walker says:

Thanks for posting, Bethany M. It would be great to hear of these posters going up in churches, schools, college campuses, Christian book stores, and possibly other Christian stores, libraries, etc. Where else have people hung up one of the posters?
BibleBeeJunior12 says:
01/14/12 at 13:15:03
@God's Maiden of Virtue - I turned 12 in November - I just haven't had time to change it!!! :) Congratulations too! :)
BibleBeeJunior12 says:
01/14/12 at 23:52:12
@God's maiden of Virtue - I've been on it longer than you have and you've still memorized more than me!!! :) You must be on MV more than me. I don't get on too much...I haven't been on full force since last August before I got sick!! :)
God's Dancer says:
01/15/12 at 22:44:18
@ BBJ12
Wow! Yes good job at memorizing your 40th verse. I have not been on recently, so I've only memorized 15 verses.
Secret agent of God says:
01/15/12 at 23:03:35
Thanks for the flyer, i sent it to lots of my teachers and friends. Oh, look, my sis posted b4 me.

BibleBeeJunior12 says:
01/16/12 at 19:29:10
I've sent them to my friends!
God's Maiden of Virtue says:
01/18/12 at 15:06:12
@BBJ12-- Well, yes. I try to get on everyday so that I can review verses. I might also be ahead because I did the Bible Bee last year. But 40 verses is still great! I just recently recovered from a sickness too. But it wasn't that bad. It only lasted for a couple of days. I had a fever and I threw up a few times. And I was still able to do MemVerse. What were you sick with (if I may ask)?
BibleBeeJunior12 says:
01/18/12 at 20:53:54
@God's Maiden of Virture - I was the hospital with a ruptured appendix for a week then out 1 week then back in it the next week with 2 abscesses. :)
God's Maiden of Virtue says:
01/19/12 at 15:58:51
Wow. Do you know how you got it? And, what exactly is an abscess? (Sorry for asking so many questions, I'm just kind of curious and would like to get to know you better).
BibleBeeJunior12 says:
01/21/12 at 02:58:38
@Rosie - it's like a hidden pocket of the poison that comes out of the appendix when it ruptures. Nope. The doctors don't know.
@All girls - just wondering, but we're looking for girls modest summer dresses (but stylish)...do you have any where?
Karen F. says:
01/23/12 at 15:26:13
Awesome flyer! Thanks!
God's Maiden of Virtue says:
01/23/12 at 16:47:34
@BBJ12-- Well, the only two places that I know of is Goodwill and Salvation Army. I get most of my dresses and skirts from both of those stores. I'm sure you'd find something. A lot of the dresses and skirts there are modest. But there are also a lot that aren't. So you would have to be careful about what you choose. And I don't know if any of the modest dresses are stylish. I mostly get jean and khaki dresses. Well... I guess sometimes I find one or two stylish dresses.
I hope that this is helpful. God bless!
BibleBeeJunior12 says:
01/23/12 at 20:09:34
@Rosie - thanks! :) We go there some times but normally we don't find anything that is my style. :)
BibleBeeJunior12 says:
01/24/12 at 15:12:48
Does anybody know how many verses the Juniors will be memorizing for Bible Bee this year?
AstroLeah says:
01/24/12 at 21:02:28
@BBJ12 - A good place to find modest, yet stylish dresses is liliesapparel.com. However, they are kind of expensive. My very favorite place to get skirts is at newcreationapparel.com. I hope this helps! :)
God's Maiden of Virtue says:
01/24/12 at 21:55:53
@BBJ12-- I was just wondering, what is your style?
I don't know how many we will be memorizing, but I can't wait! I really enjoy participating. Do you think you will be able to participate?
@AstroLeah-- I've never heard of either one of those places. They sound interesting though.
Seth Walley says:
01/25/12 at 16:45:48
BBJ12 and GMV, in the 2012 Bible Bee the Primaries, Juniors, and Seniors will all be memorizing the same 100 verses for the local level. Yes, only 100:). The reason for such a drastic drop is to get more people involved in the Bible Bee. For Nationals, however, you will be assigned aproximately an extra 200-ish for Pirmaries, 400-450-ish for Juniors, and somewhere around 700-800 extras for Seniors. The exact amount is not public imformation yet, but based on what I learned from Mrs. McMahan and Mr. Widdoes, it will be somewhat close to those estimates.

01/25/12 at 16:58:15
Great flyer! Hopefully I can post one at church, and my family has already started to share them with friends!
I made some MemVerse business cards that might be easier to carry around than a flyer, if you just want something you can have ready in your pocket. You can download them from: https://sites.google.com/site/baergenbiblestudy/memverse-resources
The business cards would be best printed on thicker paper, but regular paper will work too.
BibleBeeJunior12 says:
01/25/12 at 19:16:29
@Seth Walley - great!!! :) Thanks
@AstroLeah - thank you!!!!!!!! :)
@SoloScriptura - awesome!
God's Maiden of Virtue says:
01/25/12 at 20:58:46
@Seth Walley-- Wow! That is lot less than last year!
SoloScriptura (Peter) says:
01/25/12 at 21:05:46
Hmm...
The business cards turned out the wrong size. I was hoping to make them regular business card size, and I had it all laid out, but then when it got converted to PDF format something weird happened. I'll change it later when I have more time. If anyone likes the smaller size, I can leave that available as well.
SoloScriptura (Peter) says:
01/25/12 at 21:48:20
Problem solved. There are now both small and regular size cards available for download. Sorry for any problems this may have caused!
Phil Walker says:
01/25/12 at 22:29:31
Peter, I absolutely love your business cards!! Wow! Thanks for making such a great tool to help promote Memverse.
Alex, can you make it easy for people to download the cards as well as the flyer.
Thanks also for making the NTOYC in KJV available as cards. I will spread the word and hope people will take advantage of them.
Mommy's Helper says:
01/26/12 at 12:45:39
@BBJ12, Sorry, I don't have any good place to go for even just modest dresses!
@SSP, Thank you so much! I love the business cards! They are so cool! We printed off a page of them and didn't even notice that they weren't the same size as business cards!
~ Mommy's Helper
P.S. SSP, Is it best to leave a space on the front of the cards to write the link that they would sign up with, or to just not leave a space and write it on the back? Thanks again!!
BibleBeeJunior12 says:
01/26/12 at 15:19:49
@Rosie - really!!!!! :)
@Mommy's helper - good question! It'd be great to have the lead on the refferal leaderboards!
BibleBeeJunior12 says:
01/26/12 at 15:21:17
Wow - i wish we had a lot of color ink - these cards are fab!
SoloScriptura (Peter) says:
01/26/12 at 21:40:30
BBJ12: They look pretty good in black and white too. We are currently out of color ink, so we had to print ours in black and white.
Mommy's Helper: Just curious: are you editing the cards with a computer program, or are you just writing the link on the cards? If you want to add the link, I think whichever side you like will work, but you could try it both ways too.
Mommy's Helper says:
01/27/12 at 00:22:10
@SSP, Thanks! I'm just writing on them; not editing.

BibleBeeJunior12 says:
01/28/12 at 17:25:05

@Peter - thanks. :)
God's Maiden of Virtue says:
01/28/12 at 19:09:37
Sadly to say, yes, I am. But I am friends of many godly, Christian girls who are like sisters to me. So I am not too disappointed. I had completely thought the baby was going to be a girl. I guess God has something better in store for me.
BibleBeeJunior12 says:
01/30/12 at 01:56:36
@God's maiden of Virtue - Do you have a lot of girls in your neighborhood? I wish I did. The only girls I know are 3 younger than me (and live at the end of the road) and another girl (who stays inside and watches TV and is really, not that nice...) so I don't have any girlfriends here...thankfully, I have BibleBee friends that I've met but the only problem with that is that some live in FL, NY, TX, and some other friends who are like 30 minutes away. My best friend, Josie Cruser, is about 1 hour and 30 minutes away so we don't see each other that often. Soooooo sad!!!!!! :( :( :( :( I'm glad I have MemVerse and the OdysseyScoop. :) That's fun. And I have my little siblings...but that's a whole different thing...:)
God's Maiden of Virtue says:
01/30/12 at 12:23:17
There are some girls in our neighborhood, but since we just moved in 2010, I don't really know them that well. Plus, I'm a year older than the oldest girl. I'm trying to make friends with them though.
I have many friends at church who are a lot of fun.
BibleBeeJunior12 says:
01/30/12 at 16:18:49
@God's Maiden of Virtue - where do you go to church? I go to Dorsett Shoals Baptist Church of Douglasville and there are 4 or 5 girls my age but I don't fit in with them. Any suggestions?
BibleBeeJunior12 says:
01/30/12 at 16:41:08
YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!! I memorized my 84th verse! Only 116 more to go to reach 200!!!!!!
God's Maiden of Virtue says:
01/30/12 at 18:00:21
I go to Heritage Reformed Baptist Church in Canton, Ohio. All of my friends at church are either older, or a few months younger. But we are all very close friends. We all like to do a lot of the same things.
Well... there are two things you could do.
1. Get to know them better. Ask them the things they like to do. And, they might actually like to do some of the things you like to do. Then you will have something to talk to them about.
2. Pray about it. Ask the Lord to bring a girl to your church that enjoys the same things you enjoy. Or that He would help you get a relationship with the girls.
I hope this helps you. God bless!

@God's Maiden of Virtue - thanks! :) Actually, thanks to the Bible Bee, I have a lot of friends...just not nearby. :( But I have email and phone and snail mail so I think I'll live. but if I didn't have the computer/internet - i'd die! Just kidding. :)
Edit: YAY!!!!!!! i just memorized my 91st verse!!!!!!!!!!
God's Maiden of Virtue says:
02/01/12 at 15:51:13
BBJ12- Well that's good. I made a few friends at the Bible Bee too!
I'll try not to forget to contact SMF. But I forgot to when I memorized my 200th verse. So we'll see.
Congratulations on memorizing your 91st verse!! Your almost at 100! Now that you're back on MemVerse, you can catch up in your verses.
I hope everything goes well for you at church on Sunday (or even tonight) as you talk to the girls. I'll keep praying for you! Oh, and here's another thing you could do. Try giving one of them a little friendly gift. And write a note to go with it. Write to them saying something good you have noticed about them. But first you would need to pay attention to them and see what good thing you can find. Also, encourage them in their walk with God. Then write the note. And the gift doesn't have to be big or fancy. Just a little something you would give to a friend.
Remember, this is just an idea. So you don't have to do it if you don't want to. But, of course, I'm not sure if this would work. Because I have never had trouble making friends with the girls at my church. See, when my family first started going to Heritage Reformed Baptist Church, we met the pastor's family, and one other family. So I became friends pretty quick. But I do know one thing that would for sure help: Prayer.

I am a member of Clubhouse Magazine and I completed the summer challenge they had and received a Rwandan bracelet today as a reward. I can't wait to reach 200 verses! :) Thanks for the advice. :)

God's Maiden of Virtue - your last name doesn't happen to be Alexander does it?
God's Maiden of Virtue says:
02/03/12 at 19:59:01
My two older brothers get Clubhouse Magazine too!
Your welcome! Although I've never had trouble making friends, I can kind of guess what it is like.
Yes, my last name is Alexander. My real name is Rosie Alexander. Christian (ChiefOfSinners) and Nicolas (SavedByGrace) Alexander are my two older brothers. My dad (Wretched Man) and my mom(Beloved Wretched Woman) are on MemVerse too. And then I have two younger brothers on MemVerse. Their names are Wretched Son #3 (Royal) and Wretched Son #4 (Titus). I have three brothers younger then them who are not on MemVerse (Ethan, Peter and Jude).
How many siblings do you have? What are their names?
BibleBeeJunior12 says:
02/04/12 at 15:15:20
@God's Maiden of Virtue - Do you get Clubhouse? I love Clubhouse!!!!! :) I thought so!!!! :) When I saw Nicolas's comment about 1 girl and a baby due in Jan...:)
BibleBeeJunior12 says:
02/04/12 at 15:25:11
I am the oldest of 4. :) You have a LOT of siblings. :) BTW, why did Christian change his memname? wasn't it something else? also, do you post on the odyssey scoop? i know christian does. its about adventures in odyssey. I'm the biggest fan!
God's Maiden of Virtue says:
02/04/12 at 19:52:41
Oh, okay.
Yeah, I guess I do. I have a friend who who has 10 siblings. She is actually on MemVerse. Her name is Christ's Handmaiden.
We really enjoy Odyssey too. We have a lot of their CDs.

BBJ12- Is that a picture of a toy dog?
How many CD albums do you have? We have a LOT.
I'm really looking forward to memorizing 500 verses. That might be a little while though.
BibleBeeJunior12 says:
02/11/12 at 18:15:07
@God's Maiden of Virtue - I think I have like 15-20 albums total. :) Yes, it was one of the LPS dogs but I don't want to use it anymore. I like Reepicheep from the Narnia movies (2006,2008,2010) better. Anyone whose been on here forever knows that I LOVE Narnia. :) Do you like Narnia?
God's Maiden of Virtue says:
02/13/12 at 15:32:30
I REALLY like Narnia too. I have seen all three movies. We have the whole series of the books and CDs. And although I haven't been on Memverse forever, I can easily tell that you love Narnia.
Have you seen any of the Lord of the Rings movies? I have seen two of them: The Fellowship of the Ring and The Two Towers.
BibleBeeJunior12 says:
02/15/12 at 20:47:37
I've seen all the movies too! I LOOOOOOOOVVVVVVVVEEEEEE NArnia - they are the best...those and the Chuck Black series...:) I have heard of the LotR but I've never seen any of them
God's Maiden of Virtue says:
02/21/12 at 16:02:27
BBJ12- I might be able to pass level 5 very soon! I'm going to tell my Bright Lights leader about MemVerse and invite her to join. I'm so excited! It feels like it has been the longest time since I reached a new level. I hope you find someone to refer. What about one of your siblings or parents?
BibleBeeJunior12 says:
02/22/12 at 00:35:06
@Rosie - THANKS! :) good luck on that too. How have you been? What is Lord of the Rings like? Is it as "violent" as narnia?
SavedByGrace says:
02/22/12 at 14:18:37
BBJ12--To answer your question for Rosie, Lord of the Rings is quite a bit more violent than Narnia. I'd think you are old enough to handle it (but definitely ask your parents, not me!!), but it is probably not appropriate for those 10 years old and under, or for those who have very weak stomachs. :P
God's Maiden of Virtue says:
02/22/12 at 16:19:29
BBJ12- I guess my brother summed that up for you. Yeah, it is pretty violent.
I'm pretty good I guess. I have had a little bit of pain in different parts of my body, but other then that, I'm great! How are you doing? Do you have anything you would like me to pray for?
I just memorized my 500th verse!!! Praise the Lord!
BibleBeeJunior12 says:
02/22/12 at 17:45:06
@SavedbyGrace - hahaha. :) Ok, great! Thanks. I think I'll just stick with Narnia right now. I'm not even able to watch it for the time being because my 2 (out of 3) younger siblings got a little to into it. (My brother got a little more agressive) so we aren't watching it. *tears*
@God's Maiden of Virtue - :) Congratulations! Don't forget to contact SMF! :)
