Bible Bee practice quiz
We will be holding two more Bible Bee practice quizzes here on Memverse in the near future: this Friday, June 24, and next Friday, July 1, both at 4:00 PM EDT or 8:00 PM GMT. We will use this blog post for the first one. Each quiz should last about half of an hour and there will be fifteen questions. For ten of the questions (the first five and the last five), I will post a comment with the text of a Bible Bee verse passage in all five Bible Bee approved versions (NIV, ESV, KJV, NKJV, and NASB) and you will have a minute to post the reference. For five of the questions (they will be in the middle of the quiz), I will post a reference and you will have several minutes to respond with the reference at the beginning, the verse text in the middle, and the reference again at the end. Please also include your version to make it easier for scoring. For example, if I comment with Genesis 1:1, the correct response would be something like this:
Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Genesis 1:1 NIV
If you do not include your version in each comment, it makes it more difficult for the volunteers helping to score. Omitting a reference or your version will cost you a point for each occurrence.
You can receive a maximum of 12 points for each type of question. I hope to score very much like the Bible Bee for errors in the verse "recitations" (the middle five questions). For the questions where you post a reference for the verse text given, you will receive four points for the correct book, four points for the correct chapter, and four points for the correct verse number. For example, if you posted 2 John 1:9 instead of 1 John 1:9, you would receive 8 points.
Over half of the questions will be Primary verses and several may be drawn from the Junior verses.
If you would like to help score, please let me know after we finish the quiz by posting a comment with the text "helpscore" in it. (I plan to help orchestrate scoring for both quizzes.) Otherwise, it is difficult to keep track of who is helping. Having the "experience" of doing this once before, I think I have a better idea of how to do it. If you indicate that you would like to help score, I will have information about how to score and will assign you to a few people. You can then look for their answers on the page (CTRL + F in many browsers allows you to search and find their name and comments) and tabulate them on your computer. When you have a final score for a person, you will please post it in a comment with their name. When all scores are returned, this post will be updated with that information.
If you plan to be participating in the quiz or have any questions, please indicate that in a comment below (unless you have already done so on the other blog post). I also welcome any suggestions. We are working on a new quizzes section of the site to make this even better in the future. Hope to see you there! Thanks.
Please note: Sarah will be running the Friday, June 24th quiz. Thank you!
Comment guidelines: Please stay on topic as this helps everyone who scores your answers. Thank you for your cooperation!
Update (June 24): We had a great quiz today! Thank you to Sarah for running the quiz, scoring over half the questions, and tabulating the results. Thank you also to Bethany, Ranch4Christ, Hannah Cupcake, and Ben Watt for their help with scoring. Now for the scores:
Charity Harrell - 20 points
Stephen - 22 points
David Stelzl Jr. - 44 points
Lauren Watt - 53 points
Super401 - 63 points
Hannah Cupcake - 76 points
Joshua Harrell - 88 points
Rachel Crosswhite - 96 points
BibleBeeJunior11 - 107 points
Alex Watt - 112 points

Ben Watt - 143 points
SavedByGrace - 147 points
Christian Alexander - 152 points
Bethany - 167 points

Congratulations to all of you! Good job! Like we said last time, the most important thing is not your score in a quiz, but hiding God's Word in your heart. I pray all of you are doing that and hope to see many of you next week!

I'll be there, Alex! And did you see my question in the last post? Take a look--I'd like to know your answer.
Thank you, Alex, for your permission! So, anyone who did not see the suggestion I gave in the last post--
I asked anyone who would like to join if they would like to give out some of their more personal information than just their profile. Nothing too personal--just your name, age, grade (if you have one), and your favorite verse. Anyone who wants to can write this in the comments below. But just so you know, don't write too many comments because it slows the entire website down, according to Andy. Don't write any unnecessary comments. Thank you!
My name is not (as you probably knew) SavedByGrace, but Nicolas Alexander. I am thirteen years old and am going into ninth grade this year. My favorite verse is Romans 1:16: "I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile." I am NOT ashamed of the gospel! I will fight for it to the death if necessary! Also, I am a Junior in the National Bible Bee.
My name is Jamie Swartzentruber. I am 13 and will be going into 8th grade this year. I am homeschooled. I am a junior timothy track in the Bible Bee and this is my second year doing the Bible Bee. My favorite verse is 2 Timothy 2:11-13. It is in the Bible Bee but not Timothy track :(
I also have 3 other siblings participating in the Bible Bee and my parents are hosting for their first time this year.
@Andy: Oh, I'm so sorry! Please forgive me, I know that I'm one of the commenters that comment things like...well, like how many comments we have. Please forgive me. Truly, I'm very sorry.
@Alex: What, you are only 15?! Like SavedByGrace said, I thought you were a lot older than that. You do act mature. I'm 15 also, but I don't think I act as mature as you do.
@SavedByGrace: Sorry, no, I wasn't trying to get imformation out of you before you told us about yourself. I'll stop asking questions :)
As for myself, I'm 15, am in the Senior group. This is the first year that I've done the Bible Bee...and am VERY excited about it!! I'm using the ESV for our memorizing. I'm going into 10th grade. I'm homeschooled. What! I have no idea what my favorite chapter of the Bible is! I have so many. I think my favorite books are Proverbs, Ephesians, and James...does that count?
This comment was on the old post, but I transferred it to here...Can't wait till Friday!
I'll do it this time! Last time I logged in at the wrong time. :( My time zone was wrong. This time I'll be there at the right time.
I will most likely be here at 4:00 on the 24th!!! :) I am using the King James Version. I am 13 and am in the Junior Level Timothy Track.
Thanks so much!!
My name is Joshua Harrell. I am 11 years old, so I am a Junior in the Bible Bee. This is my third year in the Bible Bee. Last year I competed in the Bible Bee Nationals and I hope to go again. My favorite passages are Romans, Ephesians, 2 Timothy and Hebrews.
My name is Abigail Grace, but I'd rather not put down my last name here;-) I'm a senior in Bible Bee (16), and this is my third year competing. I'll be a junior in highschool this year. My younger sister, Emily, is a junior. I don't think I could choose just one favorite verse, but one that has impacted me a lot the past few months is Psalm 16:11--You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore. There is no other place we can find life or joy! Anything that offers either in this world is an empty promise, but when we go to God, He gives us everlasting life and fullness of joy!
@ Jamie--your last name is Swartzentruber?! Did you go to the Bible Bee in Ashland, Ohio last year? I think I know your family!
@ David Stelzl Jr.--yes, EDT means eastern standard time...well, something like that. Since you live in North Carolina, the next quiz will begin at 4:00.
@ Jamie I think SBG meant the one at Valley View Church near Cleveland. You said you had three other siblings--are they Ty, Emma, and...oh, I don't remember your other sibling's name.
EDT means Eastern Daylight Time from April thru November when we are under Daylight Savings. Then from November thru April, it becomes EST--Eastern Standard Time.
@Abigail Grace: That's neat that you are a Senior also! So am I.
@SavedByGrace: So, do I have it right that you have six other siblings? It's you and four other brothers/sisters doing it and two that are to young? I have six other siblings also!
Bethany
How do I change my picture next to my comments? I tried visiting Gravatar and changing my photo, and associating it with my email adress that I use on memverse, but nothing happens. As you can see, I am stuck with this funny face!!! - don't I just look REALLY happy?
My name is John Clack. I am 13 and am entering the 8th grade. And I am a Junior in the National Bible Bee. I plan to try it out.
David Stelzl, I don't think I can be any help. As you can see in my last comment, I have a nice, pretty, black box. Sorry!
Bethany, did you upload a photo of yourself at Gravatar? (http://en.gravatar.com/site/signup/).
Yay! It's fixed! Thanks for your *wonderful* suggestion, Andy! I should have tried early :)
Oh, and I will stop switching between my accounts! I have two...one for my Bible Bee and one personal one. Sorry, if I'm confusing you, but the "smiling, green face" and the butterfly picture are both me
=)
Hey Alex count me in for the next quizze. I use KJV. Im from Alaska this is my third time in the biblebee its great!
Even though I'm not participating in the Bible Bee this year, I thought I'd ask you guys a question I've always wondered about: what level of accuracy do the judges consider acceptable during testing? For example, if you replaced "ye" with "you" would it still be considered correct?
Dakota - Yes, that would be considered incorrect, as would any other one-word transposition, omission, or insertion. Each such error is a one-point deduction, as is a one-word prompt. :)
Hi, Im Sarah Nogueras. I am a Senior in the Bible Bee for the first time this year. This is my 3rd year participating. I am going into 10th grade, and am almost 15. :P Oh, and I'm homeschooled. :D
@Christian and SavedByGrace - Yes - that is the Bible Bee we went to. And the other sibling is Gage. Where are you doing the Bible Bee this year?
Hi everyone! My name is Hannah Cupcake .... well, not really the Cupcake part .... that's just what my friends call me and I just put that since I prefer not to put down my last name. :) I am almost 15, homeschooled, going into 10th grade, and a Senior in the Bible Bee (This is also my third year competing in it). I have three younger siblings who are doing the Bible Bee, and two who are too young for it. My favorite verse is 1 Timothy 4:12- "Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity." :)
Hi guys, as Alex wrote in the updated blog post, I will be running this Friday's Bible Bee Quiz. Thanks to all of you who are participating, and if you haven't told us your version yet, it would be great if you could, or just change your name to i.e. "Sarah KJV" like Zachary suggested. Thanks so much! :D
@Sarah
I'll be participating! I use the ESV. What group are you in? I'm a Senior...
Looking forward to the quiz!!
@Sarah
Yep, this is my first year to be a Senior too...actually, it my first year ever to do the Bible Bee! I'm so excited!
Hi guys, I am 16, and this is my first time in Bible Bee. I am really looking forward to it. One of my favorite verses is Psalm 51:10 "Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me"
Yes, I have 2 Junior brothers, 2 Primary sisters, and 1 supporting sibling sister who is too young. :)
That's neat, Sarah! I have a sister who is in the Junior age group and a brother in the Primary group...and I'm in the Senior group.
Do you have any older siblings? I have an older brother and sister.
I an 12 and I will be 13 in less then a month. This is my first year to do the Bible Bee. Also I am Bethany Joy's sister. I am really excited about doing it. I am a junior. Anyone have any advice on the Bible Bee? If so I would really like to hear it. The version I am doing it in is ESV.
Hey, Carissa! So glad you decided to do the Bible Bee! The advice I would give is to buy the CD of musical scriptures from Bible Bee. I am listening to them now, and they help a ton. That gets at least all the Primary verses out of the way, and last year they came out with a Junior edition, so I'm hoping they get that out, and then maybe even a Senior. :P The CD is only $15 (marked down to $11.95!).
Everyone, not to spoil anything, but we need to remember that we should probably only write comments that are necessary or about the post. Hopefully we won't get all the way over 500 again. :)
Oops! I accidently posted my comment twice!
Can someone tell me whether the verses in the quiz will be Timothy Track or National Track?
@Sarah - Thanks for the advice Sarah. I have found it helpful to put the verses to music. It is kinda hard to find a tune that works with the verse though. Thanks again.
@Savedbygrace - Sorry but I forgot to put what my favorite verse is and what grade I am going into. I am going into 8th grade. I have many favorite Bible verses. I really like Philippian 1:6 - He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.
@Jamie - I don't know if the quiz will be Timothy Track or National Track.
Whoops. After I put my comment I realized the Bethany my sister was logged in and I had commented under her. I'm really sorry 'bout that Bethany. Hope you don't mind. I'll be more careful next time. The comment above is really not from Bethany (Bible Bee) but from Carissa (Bible Bee)
Hi Sarah!
I'm using NKJV. Thanks for doing the quiz!
Carissa, they already put the verses to music, all you have to do is buy the CD.
Jamie, the quiz will be National. I will try to write whether the verses are N or T, though. ;)
Sarah - Thanks so much for running this - it looks like that will work with your schedule. I will be using NIV. :)
Ok, I will be talking to my mom to change the time of the meeting, and even if we can't, I can still run it from the meeting.
Ok, so my mom changed the time for the meeting, so I'm good to run the quiz! Yay, I'm so happy! See you guys at 4pm EDT!!!!!
Super401 - It took between 30 and 60 minutes last time, it seems (just looking back at the old comments).
Sarah - Glad are able to do this without missing the BB meeting. So will this time be a conflict with Bible Bee meetings in the future or not?
Alex, I don't even know if we will have BB meetings in the future with what happened just now...Its only been us and another family showing up, and the kids in the other family are very sensitive. :/
Looking forward to the quiz in 5 minutes! :D
OK. I'm looking forward to it also! I don't know all the ones from Weeks 2 and 3, so I'll be passing or guessing on some of them, but it will be helpful. Thanks!
Yes, the quiz Sarah is running will be held right here in these comments.
i do not like my picture! How do i change it?
and, do we have to have correct spelling on the answers? :)
I don't think we're requiring perfect spelling.
Let's talk about changing pictures later. :) Quiz is about to start.
I would say you dont have to have correct spelling, but please try to. Also, spell check works wonders! :D
I am going to wait another minute to make sure everyone is here...let me also go run and get my laptop charger. :P
YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!! :) www.gravatar.com @Rachel Crosswhite

Question #11:
PRIMARY
KJV: Behold, I go forward, but he is not there; and backward, but I cannot perceive him: On the left hand, where he doth work, but I cannot behold him: he hideth himself on the right hand, that I cannot see him: But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold. My foot hath held his steps, his way have I kept, and not declined. Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips; I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food.
NKJV: “Look, I go forward, but He is not there, And backward, but I cannot perceive Him; When He works on the left hand, I cannot behold Him; When He turns to the right hand, I cannot see Him. But He knows the way that I take; When He has tested me, I shall come forth as gold. My foot has held fast to His steps; I have kept His way and not turned aside. I have not departed from the commandment of His lips; I have treasured the words of His mouth More than my necessary food.
ESV: "Behold, I go forward, but he is not there, and backward, but I do not perceive him; on the left hand when he is working, I do not behold him; he turns to the right hand, but I do not see him. But he knows the way that I take; when he has tried me, I shall come out as gold. My foot has held fast to his steps; I have kept his way and have not turned aside. I have not departed from the commandment of his lips; I have treasured the words of his mouth more than my portion of food.
NIV: “But if I go to the east, he is not there; if I go to the west, I do not find him. When he is at work in the north, I do not see him; when he turns to the south, I catch no glimpse of him. But he knows the way that I take; when he has tested me, I will come forth as gold. My feet have closely followed his steps; I have kept to his way without turning aside. I have not departed from the commands of his lips; I have treasured the words of his mouth more than my daily bread.
NASB: “Behold, I go forward but He is not there, And backward, but I cannot perceive Him; When He acts on the left, I cannot behold Him; He turns on the right, I cannot see Him. “But He knows the way I take;
When He has tried me, I shall come forth as gold. “My foot has held fast to His path; I have kept His way and not turned aside. “I have not departed from the command of His lips; I have treasured the words of His mouth more than my necessary food.
Question #12:
JUNIOR
KJV: For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth:
NKJV: For I know that my Redeemer lives, And He shall stand at last on the earth;
ESV: For I know that my Redeemer lives, and at the last he will stand upon the earth.
NIV: I know that my redeemer lives, and that in the end he will stand on the earth.
NASB: “As for me, I know that my Redeemer lives, And at the last He will take His stand on the earth.
Question #12 - Job 19:25
BTW: For all you using NIV, the word is "upon" not "on". Easy to do... Maybe that's NIV 2011 (instead of the 1984 edition).
@Sarah or a "Moderator":
Someone I know is having problems having his posts showing up on the blog.
His name is jacob.
His blog post says "Awaiting moderator approval."
Could someone help him?
FYI:He signed up last minute.
Q 12:
Ben - Job 19:25 (I think the NIV was posted from 2011 revisions. 1984 uses "UPON the earth.")
Lauren - Pass
Super401 - Thanks for letting us know. We'll get those comments approved before long. It may take a little while, but we will include his score in the final totals. He should add a few more verses to his account if he wants comments automatically approved. :)
Question #13:
PRIMARY
KJV: When I kept silence, my bones waxed old through my roaring all the day long. For day and night thy hand was heavy upon me: my moisture is turned into the drought of summer. Selah. Selah I acknowledged my sin to You, And my iniquity I have not hidden. I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the LORD,†And You forgave the iniquity of my sin. Selah
ESV: For when I kept silent, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long. For day and night your hand was heavy upon me; my strength was dried up as by the heat of summer. Selah I acknowledged my sin to you, and I did not cover my iniquity;
I said, "I will confess my transgressions to the LORD," and you forgave the iniquity of my sin. Selah
NASB: When I kept silent about my sin, my body wasted away Through my groaning all day long. For day and night Your hand was heavy upon me;
My vitality was drained away as with the fever heat of summer. Selah. I acknowledged my sin to You, And my iniquity I did not hide; I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the LORDâ€; And You forgave the guilt of my sin. Selah.
well, we are having company so I HAVE to go help my mom ... i won't be able to finish ... do you think I could get on here tomorrow and answer the questions??? I really wanted to finish this. I hopefully will be doing the one on Monday
BTW moderaters - I would be happy to do a quiz but would have to check with mom and dad first
Fare well!

NIV: Turn my eyes away from worthless things; preserve my life according to your word.

It's a Psalm, it's a Psalm, it's a Psalm, Psalm, Psalm...grrrrrr. haven't memorized this yet but I will in like 2 seconds because it's so small!!!!
Last Question!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Question #15 (last question):
PRIMARY
KJV: Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing.
NKJV: Serve the LORD with gladness; Come before His presence with singing.
ESV: Serve the LORD with gladness! Come into his presence with singing!
NIV: Worship the LORD with gladness; come before him with joyful songs.
NASB: Serve the LORD with gladness; Come before Him with joyful singing.
If you can help score, please let me know. I think we had 14 participants, so it would be great to have 5 of you help score, if you're able. Just post a comment with "helpscore" in it. It may take a while, though, so only if you have time. Thank you. And Christian, I already have you done because you thought you might be able to. If you need to change that, just let me know. Thanks.
I'm sorry I very much wish I could, but I am being called down for dinner. :(
Maybe if I eat quickly and you still need help, I can then offer my assistance.
I flunked this test!!!
BOO HOO HOO!

@ALEX:
I feel a little intimidated by helping score. If you don't have enough people do it, I will try. Just tell me. Thanks!
Christian - I totally understand. Don't worry about it. :) Great to have you participating! Thanks Sarah for the quiz!

I can't score! I don't know how anyway...don't count me in!!!!
Don't worry, Super401. Just study hard to get to the top in next Friday's quiz! :) You can do it!!!!!
Alex, please score Super401, Ranch4Christ, and SavedByGrace on questions 6-10...I already have everyone's scores on 1-5, and 11-15.
BibleBeeJunior - We'll post scores ASAP. Let me know if you want to help with scoring.
Ranch4Christ - Could you please score Carissa (Bible Bee), Christian Alexander, and Jamie? Thanks
@Alex:
This is my LAST comment:
I can't score!!!
If this is a punishment, I still can't score!!!
David Stelzl Jr. says he can score.
Sarah - That is great. Thank you! We'll all turn in answers for questions 6 - 10. Got that, Ranch4Christ? Only 6 - 10.
Yea, I can help score. I did terrible though. I have been in Drivers ed all week, and have not studied at all
Ben - If you could please score Hannah Cupcake, Rachel Crosswhite, and David Stelzl Jr.
Bethany - just give me a second. Your help is appreciated.
Sarah, thank you for hosting this quiz! I had a lot of fun! Hopefully everyone did well! I'll see you next week... or possibly after dinner.
Hannah - If you could please score BibleBeeJunior11 and Bethany.
Bethany - If you could please score Lauren and Ben.
David - Thanks! Would you mind scoring me?
Did I miss anyone? I'm using Excel...
ALEX:
I take off 4 points for a book, chapter and verse they mess up on. How many do I take off if they mess up on a word?
Sorry guys. 1 point off for every word they miss, including if they forget the reference at the beginning or the end.
Alex, You missed me, Joshua Harrell, and I think you missed Charity, my sister, who posted under me.
David, I believe you deduct points from the perfect score of 12 points. So if someone gets just one word wrong, their score would be 11. Does that help? :)
Sorry Alex, I have to go make dinner. I don't know how to score anyway. Maybe next time, I will show up early and find out how!!
See y'all next week!
David - You start with 12 and then deduct. We're only scoring questions 6 - 10.
Joshua - I apologize. I will score you both. Thanks for telling me. It is crazy trying to see everyone who responded. Sorry.
ALEX:
I feel terrible asking so many question...please forgive me!
Where would I find a place that I could check the verses that they wrote down? If they are using the NIV, we don't have an NIV Bible at our house. Where should I go to see if they answered right?
Also, I think they are your brother and sister. Is that right? What version do they use? I haven't seen what they use.
Sorry Alex, I can't score you anyway because we don't have any NIV bibles floating around.
We only use King James, but my dad has a New King James.
See you next week!
Signing out!
Ranch4Christ got 36 points on questions 6-10, and SavedByGrace got 48 points on questions 6-10. Still working on the others. Thanks.
Anyone: :)
I'm using Biblegateway.com but they don't have the right version for NIV...or at least it doesn't seem like they do. The verse doesn't match up AT ALL. But I know Ben got it right because it's close to the ESV.
Scores (1 point each reference) for Q's 1-5 and 11-15:
Jamie: 10
Ranch4Christ: 7
Ben: 8
Savedbygrace: 7
Carissa: 10
Bethany: 9
BibleBeeJunior11: 5
Alex Watt: 8
Christian Alexander: 8
Hannah Cupcake: 4
Super401: 3
Rachel Crosswhite: 3
Lauren Watt: 3
Joshua Harrell: 6
Charity Harrell: 1
David Stelzl Jr: 3
Alex, if you're busy you don't have to answer this, but since I got twelve points less than a perfect score, did I get everything right and completely mess up on one verse? Thanks.
Bethany, I think biblegateway has two versions for NIV--2011 and 1948. Maybe not.
Sarah, what is a perfect score for 1-5 and 11-15? A score of 10?
Bethany - It's near the bottom of the list called "New International Version 1984" on BibleGateway. Thanks!
Sarah - That's great! I'll multiply by 12 then.
SavedByGrace - You did really well but got Proverbs 13:4 mixed up and even said so yourself (I think). Good job, though! :)
BibleBeeJunior - No, that isn't the total. We'll have it definitely by tomorrow in the main part of the post.
Sarah - 12 points for correct reference, of which they get 4 for the right book, 4 for correct chapter, and 4 for correct verse number. It is possible, then, to get 4, 8, or 12 points per reference. I guess multiplying by 12 wouldn't solve that. Sorry I didn't communicate earlier. You want to just go with 12 or nothing?
Hopefully we'll have the automatic system in the next two weeks. Pray that it goes well! :)
Bible Bee Junior 11--actually, that would be 60 if you multiply it by twelve. Whoops, I didn't see Alex's comment. Maybe not.
My score for the post Sarah said is 60...I don't know about the others...:) Is that confusing? If so just ignore me. On this post.
BibleBeeJunior11 scored 36 on questions 6-10.
Bethany scored 59 on questions 6-10.
Great job everyone and thanks Sarah for holding the quiz this week! :)
Alex--I'm sorry, but I'm unable to do the scoring this time. I couldn't find the right version of the translation and also I have some things I need to do for my parents right now. I'm sorry! Maybe next time I'll be able to help out with scoring.
I checked with the material on the Bible Bee site.
For questions 6-10:
Carissa (Bible Bee): 57
Christian Alexander: 48
Jamie: 60
Scores for Q #6-10
Hannah Cupcake - 12
Rachel Crosswhite - 36
David Stelzl, Jr. - 0
Thank you, everyone, for participating (and thank you, Sarah, for hosting)! Regardless of your numbers on the quiz, the Bible Bee is a great ministry for God to use to build you spiritually. :)
@Bethany - You can select NIV 1984 as the version on Biblegateway. Plain "NIV" gives you the 2010 version. Thank you!
Bethany - I understand. Thanks!
EDIT: Oh, thanks! That works. It's better that someone outside our family score us anyway. Thanks.
Wait, so I only got 4 questions right? I'm pretty confident I answered more correctly.
Ranch4Christ, are you sure you gave me twelve points for every verse and reference correct?
ALEX:
I can do it now, they don't need me to help them any more. Sorry about all the comments I'm leaving..
Here's a link to a verse in NIV 1984 - http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Psalm%2055:22&version=NIV1984.
Oh, thank you, R4C. That makes much more sense. That explains it, and that's what I would have expected.
I'm so sorry I missed the quiz, Sarah!! I meant to log in, but my afternoon ended up getting a lot busier than I expected!
Looks like y'all did a great job--wish I could've joined you!
SARAH:
I got Lauren and Ben. This is what I came up with...if I did it correctly.
LAUREN:
Question 6 – Pass
Question 7 – Pass
Question 8 – Pass
Question 9 – 6
Question 10 - Pass
She passed on 4 and only got 6 right on the one she did. What else do I do?
I'll comment again with Ben's.
Ben:
Question 6 – 12
Question 7 – Pass
Question 8 – 12
Question 9 – 11
Question 10 - Pass
Passed 2, got 2 right, and lost 1 point on qestion 9.
Is there anything else I need to do?
@Alex:
You're welcome...even though, I don't think I did that much. Also, thanks for answering my endless questions. I must admit, I added a lot of extra comments to this post.
I've got to go milk and feed the animals...thanks to all who helped score and put this quiz together!
Thanks everyone who participated! It was great to be a part of this. I won't be here next Friday cuz I'll be at camp. I will "see" everyone at the next quiz after July 1.
Awesome job, everyone!
And I just want to say that I am very proud of my little brother, @Stephen for participating, and scoring some points. Love you so much! :)
CONGRATULATIONS, EVERYONE! YOU ALL DID A WONDERFUL JOB!
@Sarah: Thanks, Sarah for hosting this quiz! You did a great job!
@Hannah: Thanks, for scoring my verses!
@Alex: Thanks for taking the time to answer all my question...I know, I had a lot. So thanks a bunch. It is appreciated!
Well, I wouldn't have gotten first without my brother! And yesterday I was gone right after the quiz so I couldn't help score or anything sorry!
And during the end of the quiz I was outside looking at baby racoons in our yard, so I kept running in with my brother :)\
Good job everyone and thanks for hosting the quiz! It was fun!
Matthew - We try to do as many Timothy Track verses as possible, but some will be National Track. Thanks for asking and hope to "see" you at a quiz. :)
Thanks Alex, I'll try to be there. Will we be doing the second quiz on this blog post? How do I sign up for the quiz?
OK Matthew. Sounds good. You don't need to sign up yet. If we finish the automated quizzing system, I'll post a link for everyone to sign into the quiz around noon on Friday, otherwise I will probably create a blog post for it on Friday, where I will ask people to let me know if they plan on attending. Thanks.
Thanks a bunch Alex!!!! How do you make a blog post? By the way I live in Mississippi and I'm 12 and am in my first year of Bible Bee and am a Timothy Track Junior. Sorry about all the ams.:-) Are you the Memverse moderator?
Matthew - You're welcome! Last question first: no, I am not the Memverse moderator. :) Andy is the Memverse moderator and administrator, and as far as making blog posts, you would have to be added by him to the list of bloggers first. He has mentioned that he is thinking about ways to make it easier for everyone to communicate, but nothing definite on that yet. Thanks for asking and look forward to having you in the quiz tomorrow.
I think I will be able to make tomorrow's quiz! I am really looking forward to it - especially as it is challenging me to honestly evaluate where I am as of right now :)
I live in Michigan, I just graduated from high school, and I'm a Bible Bee Senior this year (18 yrs. old). Our family is blessed to have participated in all three years of the Bible Bee. I have 7 siblings besides myself studying for this year's Bible Bee - it's a ton of fun!
I hope to be here also! This is my second year doing the Bible Bee, but this is my first year as a senior.
I use NASB.
Thank you to everyone who has been helping with or running the quizzes!
I should be available this time. Though I'm not sure I'd have the time to help score. I'll have to see how Friday is going before I make that decision, unless you want to know far in advance.
