2013 Bible Bee Location!

I've heard from friends that the Nationals location will be announced way earlier than usual (like, a month from now) so I wanted to have some fun guessing while we can! So, what do you think? Where will Nationals be next year???

I am going to guess either Kansas City, MO or Colorado Springs, CO. I think that it would be an interesting change for the Bible Bee to host Nationals further West. That way, it would be more affordable for those who come from the West coast and the Midwest. What do you all think?

We're guessing? In that case, I hope that they're in New Zealand, so I can visit the place where they filmed the Lord of the Rings! But if not out of the U.S, then I'm hoping Miami, Florida, so we can all visit Legoland together afterward(or beforeward)!

I've heard that the Nationals location has to be within driving distance of Bible Bee HQ in Ohio, so that would rule out New Zeland. :) Maybe it will be in Kentucky so we can go to the Creation Museum!

Well, quite a lot of places are driving distance from Ohio. We could have the bee in Alaska and it would still technically work. :) I am just hoping that they don't host it in Tennessee or Ohio. I think it would be fun to have a Western bee. What do you all think?

I would love to have it in the Western United States. If we could drive or it was somewhere close to us, we might actually go.

It would be very convenient for our family if they had it in Ohio, but I understand that our state would not be the best location for everyone else. I would enjoy going to Colorado Springs, though! :)

That way, we could all go to Whit's End!!! :)

@jimmy Waters - YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY TOTALLY RIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am the HUGEST fan of Adventures in Odyssey…probably the biggest. :) I would love it to be there…as long as I made it to Nationals that year. :) If I didn't, then I would be really mad. LOL

I've been to Whit's end - it was so much fun even though we couldn't do some of the things because they were either closed or because of the rain :)

I'd like for it to be in Oklahoma City. My grandfather lives a few hours away from there, as well as some other extended family. I'd like to see them again.

Oh, and also… I'm REALLY hoping that Nationals will be a bit earlier in the year so that we can do a little vacationing, and still come back in time for the family Thanksgiving. We actually were still vacationing during Thanksgiving in 2011 because Nationals was just too close to it.

I think it would be a good idea to host it earlier too. Oklahoma City would also be a good place to have it. Although, it would be quite hot (though, I am sure not as hot as Texas). :)

Hmm, well, I have a friend who volunteered this year, and she said one of the staff told her where it'll be. She didn't tell me where exactly, but she mentioned that Westerners would have to drive a while again! I just hope it's not Tennessee..

Well, I guess we'll have to wait another year for a Western bee. I agree with you in that it probably wouldn't be a good idea to have it in Tennessee again. :) I wonder, are there any big hotels in one of the main Ohio cities?

I don't care where it is. I just want to qualify for Nationals.

@ Jimmy Waters – Maybe I should say that Nationals has to be within a couple hours driving distance from Bible Bee HQ. :) It would be really fun to have it out West some year though.

I also hope that they will move the date for Nationals ahead a little. It is pretty close to Thanksgiving, and it is right over the opening day of deer hunting season here in MI!

@Kaitlyn: Ahhh… I see. :) I agree with you regarding the date. I think that it should either be moved ahead a little or be moved back a little. I think that it has been a bit close to Thanksgiving for the past couple of years, and that has, from what I have heard, inhibited the abilities of some families to be home for Thanksgiving. Of course, there is also deer hunting season, so I can certainly understand that as a reason to move the date. :)

This is a kind of random question, but do any of you know what town in Ohio the Bible Bee HQ is at? I have a friend who lives in Ohio, and she'd like to know.

The Creation Museum was AWESOME!!!

It made me smile last evening when one of my brothers asked the others in our family if we are more excited for Christmas or the Bible Bee 2013 location announcement. :) (Just thought some of you could relate to being, um, pretty excited for next year's Bible Bee, Lord willing? smile)

I heard from the Millers that it was going to be January 5th, but I'm not sure if that's reliable or not.

Well…they have it up…not really :( The host map is up to show where all the hosts are located as they sign up and it says 2013 Bible Bee Location…but they haven't updated it from last year…at least I hope they haven't.

If you go to the BB website, it says:
"Bible Bee National Competition-November 20-23, 2013, Pigeon Forge, Tn"

Sooooo….are they having it in the same location? :)

I am not quite sure that the Bible Bee would hold the competition twice in the same location. I think that, for the past couple of years, the SKF uploaded the date information before on the map before they changed the location marker. I think that they will announce the real location soon, based on what they have done for the past couple years. :)

That may be what is happening, I thought that as well.

BTW - are you the Jimmy Waters that was in Semi Finals last year? (2012)

Where are you guys finding the dates for Nationals? I looked all over and couldn't find 'em.
