Who has been involved and/or attended Bible Bee this 2021? Please share your experiences from it.
lil'biblegal
Hi I did locals but I didn't qualify because of lack of time, but BB is a really good experience both at the local and national level (nats havent started yet) it's a huge community it's also good because you have the chance to study God's word more in depth and actually understand what it means when it says what it says this year was Acts, the test is pretty challenging, but that's what's fun about it.
lil'biblegal
Thanks to BB I've memorized over 2000 verses this year I also memorized the study passage

Awesome, lil'biblegal. Thank you for sharing. I trust you will try again next year and maybe achieve the nats??? Never give up. What you are learning today will stay with you throughout the rest of your life on earth, to be a great source of comfort, encouragement, and wisdom to be able to discern between good and evil. Hope the rest of 2021 is very good to you!!
lil'biblegal
Yes i will if i have time ive been to nats several times my family has been in it since 2010

Wonderful!! Hope you will have a wonderful rest of 2021!!! And a wonderful holiday time at the end of December.
Titus_A
Hey, AK! I was at Nats 2021 this year, and it was amazing! I'll share my recap Google doc on here once I'm finished with it.
AK (a scribe)
Hi, Titus. That's sounds awesome. Looking forward to seeing it. Thanks for posting.
AK (a scribe)
Hey, Titus. How is your "recap Google doc" coming along, that you were going to share here on Memverse Bible Bee?
Titus_A
Sorry for the late response! I finished it up last month, but forgot to post it here. Here it is! :)
AK (a scribe)
Thanks, Titus. I will enjoy reading all of it this coming Sabbath. I did scan through it, and looked at all the pictures. Wow!!! What a wonderful presentation. Can't wait to fill in the details that you have written and shared. Thank you for doing this.
More comments will come after I've read through it.
May God continue to be with you in 2022!!

Thanks again, Titus, for sharing your document. I just finished all 61 pages! Absolutely a wonderful reading experience that has helped me to understand BB much better. Thank you for writing it and for all the pictures you included. They helped to make it more real for me. Thank you.
Also, thanks for sharing about Nehemiah. I had a few Memverse forum exchanges earlier last year about his passing. Now I can understand a little more about the impact of his good heart on the lives of those who loved him. I'm so glad to hear that BB honored him this year.
While reading through it, where you initially indicated you wouldn't be participating in BB next year, I wondered why. Then when you said you were 17, I thought that maybe the year you turn 18 eliminates you from the competition. Then as I kept reading, I was so delighted to hear that you could, and might, and then would, participate one more time. Praise the LORD!!!
I was deeply moved by your humility, your praising God for all things–your disappointments, and successes–for the journey, etc. Your circle of friends are definitely blessed to have you as a friend, and you them.
Thank you again, Titus, for your willingness to share your document. It has touched and moved my heart to happy tears that you will walk down the road one more time. I really hope nothing happens in your life that would change that. I look forward to hearing how God will help you get to being one of the top finalists for the next and your final BB.
May God be with you throughout 2022!!

Hi again, Titus. I forgot to ask you: about how many people are in the Bible Bee competition each year? Are there just dozens, or hundreds, or thousands (since it probably draws people from all across the USA and maybe outside of the USA as well)? Would like to hear about it when you have a moment. Has this pandemic greatly reduced its participants as compared to before it, as I believe you have been involved with it for some time, so you would have a good perspective on the BB world, pre and post-pandemic years. Thank you.
lil'biblegal
thousands i competed from chile and my friend from greece
AK (a scribe)
Thanks, lil'biblegal. In reading through Titus' document, I was curious to know how many would have physically competed at the location that he went to. From your response, it sounds like it is a worldwide competition that is probably held using some kind of virtual online platform. Would that be right? I wonder if both locations are somehow connected for doing the same competition. Would love to hear what your experience was?
lil'biblegal
bb changed how they do nats the do the cbt online a few weeks before hand I don't know if the numbers were altered
AK (a scribe)
Thanks.
lil'biblegal
not world wide per se you have to be a us citizen or resident 120 compete at nats per division locals can be done online if you dont have a host group
lil'biblegal
bb is an amazing experience

I'm really glad to hear about it. And I'm also glad that you have been very blessed by it.
I see that Titus has been very blessed, and has been a great role model and encourager to all of those who are in his circle of influence. I'm sure you are, too.
lil'biblegal
Yes!
Titus_A
Sorry I didn't see this earlier!
Praise God that He used my testimony to bless you, AK. I'm so glad He's leading me to do Bible Bee again this year. I'm going to give it my best shot, and He can do with that what He thinks best!
Yes, thousands of people across the country (and a number outside of it as well) still do Bible Bee. The pandemic didn't hinder many people from participating, except that the Nationals had to be cut down to only the Semifinalists and their families in 2020. They were able to hold the competition full-scale again last year, though, and if anything, the number of participants has only increased!
Like I said, thousands of people participate in the Summer Study section of Bible Bee. Then, there's an option for participants to take an online test to qualify for Nationals. The top 120 scorers in each division (360 in all) are invited to come to the National event, wherever that may take place. (The location varies from year to year.) The National competition is in-person, and every competitor gets a chance to recite, though only the top 15 in each division recite on stage in front of hundreds of people. There's also another multiple-choice test that competitors have to take, but people took that online at home last year.
If you have any more questions, I'd be happy to answer them! :)
AK (a scribe)
Thanks, Titus, for discovering my reply. :)
And I'm glad to hear that you are proceeding to do BB again this year! Praise God!!! That's all that He ever asks–that we always do our best for His glory and leave the results with Him.
Thank you for explaining how things work. And the differences between the past couple of years because of the pandemic. I really appreciate it.
An unrelated question: in your special paper you mentioned offering your services to proof-read a certain person's writing. Did that ever happen? If yes, is it done, or is it ongoing for a while yet.
I'm just curious because I can relate: I have done a lot of proof-reading for people through the years, and am currently going through 9 small books by my son on Christian beliefs. So I was wondering if your offer was ever taken up seriously by that person.
Titus_A
Yes, Mr. Davidsmeier sent me the documents for both of his Christian fiction books. I've finished proofreading the first one and I'm about a quarter of the way through the second. I haven't been working on it too much recently, but I'll probably finish in a couple of months at most.
AK (a scribe)
Sounds good! Thanks for getting back to me. I appreciate it. Glad you were able to follow through with this item, as mentioned in your BB report.
I do hope you'll have an absolutely wonderful upcoming week!
AK (a scribe)
Hi, Titus_A, it has been a very long time since I last heard from you. I do hope all has been well at your end. I've been praying for you lately, that this year's Bible Bee has been going well in your preparation and perhaps it is now past, and you've achieved your anticipated expectations. I would love to hear from you and receive an update when you have a few moments. May God continue to work miracles in your life to His glory and honor!!
Titus_A
Thanks so much for checking in with me! I greatly appreciate your prayers.
Bible Bee Nationals this year is taking place November 7-10, and the online test is November 1st. My preparations have been going pretty well, and God has been very faithful. I'm looking forward to seeing what He's going to do through the contestants this year! May He be glorified no matter the results.
We've been studying Isaiah 40-48 this fall in Bible Bee, and it's been such a blessing to me. Probably the most valuable thing I've learned about is the wonder of God's glory, and how He is glorified in us when we display His beauty to others. Learning about the attributes of God through these chapters inspires me to live well for Him. I've also been so blessed by the friends that I'm studying alongside. They're such a big encouragement to me, and God has used them to sanctify and grow me. I would treasure your continued prayers both for me and my friends as we prepare for the competition. Thank you so much!
AK (a scribe)
Glad to see you're still here, Titus! :) And I'm glad to see that I haven't missed the BB competition start for this year.
I will keep you and your friends in my prayers starting Nov 1st with the online test, and onward. I'm delighted to hear your praise for our wonderful God, and all that He has blessed you with in digging deeper into Isa 40-48. Awesome!!
I was hoping that nothing would have arisen during the summer that might have jeopardized your desire to proceed with your final BB, as you had it set in mind after finishing the 2021 competition. Praise the Lord!!!
With continued prayers for all of you, your friend and brother in Christ!!!
AK (a scribe)
I'm thinking of, and praying for, you and your friends starting with tomorrow's online BB test . . . and onward. May God richly bless all of you as each of you seek to honor Him in this year's competition!!! Take care.
Titus_A
Thank you so much for your prayers! The test is finished, and I'm greatly looking forward to the in-person event next week!
AK (a scribe)
Thanks, Titus, for your update. Appreciate it. May God continue to be with you and your friends at the in-person event next week. Take care.
AK (a scribe)
Just wanted to let you know, Titus, that not a day has gone by that I haven't prayed for you and your friends–that all of you would do very, very well at this year's BB competition–all to His glory. I don't expect a reply back until after it is all over and you have returned home to rest :) . May God continue to bless and use you to His glory!!
Titus_A
Thanks so much for praying for us over the course of the event! God was very good to us. Eight people in our group recited perfectly in their Oral rounds, and two of my friends and I made the Senior Semifinals, one of them advancing to the Finals. Everyone recited so well to the glory of God! I'm very grateful for His blessings to us.
AK (a scribe)
Thanks, Titus, for the update. Praise God for how well all of you did. So with one out of the final three advancing to the Finals, did the event also include the Finals? Or do they take place at a later time?
Did you get further this year than last year? How do you feel about this being your last and final year for BB?
Titus_A
Yes, the event included Finals as well. Kaylee, the one who advanced, placed fifth. :D
I got 15th place last year but didn't qualify for Semis since I tied with someone else who got 15th and was knocked out on tiebreaks. This year, I placed 13th and qualified for Semis. I'm so glad God let me do so well my last year! It was an unexpected blessing. It's bittersweet to be done with Bible Bee for good. I'm so thankful for the years I got to participate, but at the same time I know it's time to move on to other things like college and raising a family. But I'm just very happy overall. :)
AK (a scribe)
Praise the Lord! Thanks, Titus, for sharing with me your journey. I'm glad that you made it further this year than last year. I know that you will be a much better man for Christ because of all of your years in Bible Bee. He has been preparing you for a great task that He will call you to do for Him as we near His return to our world.
I wish for you, your family, and all of your close Christian friends a wonderful upcoming Thanksgiving holiday weekend, and then, next month, a really wonderful joyful Christmas season.
Hope to still hear from you periodically on Memverse. That would be nice! :) May God continue to be with you, Titus!!
Titus_A
I'll do my best to post on the forum periodically, but it probably won't be on this topic for obvious reasons. xD
Thanks so much, AK! Happy Thanksgiving to you as well.
AK (a scribe)
I understand. But one question: Will you be coming back to possibly using Memverse for memorizing Scripture? Or have you moved on from Memverse in general? You can also send me a Private Message on Memverse and that would bypass this Bible Bee message board, and others. I currently have several conversation threads going and it is wonderful. Take care till next time, Titus.
Titus_A
I'll send you a private message. :)
Titus_A
Well, I can't seem to find your username to start a private message thread with you since putting in "AK" brings up a bunch of names, but not yours. Maybe you could start the thread instead?
AK (a scribe)
Done . . . about an hour ago. Hopefully I selected the correct Titus :) .
