Yes, people are quizzing each other on the materials that we are studying for the Bible Bee. Are you in the Bible Bee?
It's funny that you asked about Tarsus and Tarshish. I used to think they were the same place too. But actually, Tarsus was a city in Cilicia, at the northeastern corner of the Mediterranean Sea. (As you probably know, that was where Paul was from.) But the location of Tarshish is uncertain. It was probably a distant coastland settled by descendants of Japheth. Some speculate it was located in present-day Spain. If this is the case, it would have seemed like the very end of the earth to Jonah, and we get a glimpse of just how far he wanted to go to get away from God (and Nineveh).
