Hey! I just recently joined Memverse (and I'm still trying to get grips with it!) and I was wondering what the Bible Bee competition is.

Thanks:)

@Emmanuelle- That is a pretty name! Welcome to Memverse. I don't do Bible Bee but, as far as I can see, it is a very competitive, Christ-honoring, friend-loving competition. And beyond that I'll let some else answer.

Hi! Bible Bee is kinda like the Spelling Bee, but we memorize Bible verses and study a book or a portion of a book (this year, it was John chapters 13-15) instead.
We usually get our study materials on June 1st and spend all summer studying. (I know, who does that?!? :P) At the end of the summer, we take an hour long written test over the material and verses we studied. And then we wait for an excruciatingly long time (A week and a half xP) to get our scores and rankings back. There are three age divisions: Primary (7-10 year olds) Junior (11- 14 year olds) and Seniors (15-18 year olds). The top 120 in each age division are invited to come compete at the National competition (This year in San Antonio, TX), and are given another book or passage to study, along with a few hundred verses. There, we take another test and have an oral recitation round. Then there are semifinals and finals, but I won't go into the details. xP
I'm not the best at explaining things, so if you want to learn more check out www.biblebee.org :P

Edit: I think Rachel explained this to someone? A lot better…Lol. :P

Bible Bee is a competition about the Bible. :p For kids 7 to 18, from 7 to 10 years are primaries, 11-14 are juniors, and 15-18 are seniors. In the summer, we learn some memory passages, usually 12 or 14, and study a book or passage of the Bible that the BB chooses with their study guide. Then you take the Local test, and is you score in the top 120 in your age division, you make it to Nationals, for which you have to study many many more verses (depending on your age division) and another passage or book of the Bible that Bible Bee chooses again, also remembering everything you learned in the summer. In November (I forgot the exact dates…) All the people who make it to Nationals go to where ever Nats. is that year, San Antonio this year, and there they take the next test. Whoever scores in the top 15 (in each age division) make it to the next step, the semi-finals. That is on the stage and is also broadcasted live on the computer. Then the top 5 make it to Finals, which is again on the stage and broadcasted live. The last 5 finalest also win money, up to $100,000. Hope this answers your questions! I tend to not make a lot of sense when I try to explain something, so just ask if you don't understand anything. ;p Here's the official website- https://biblebee.org/

Edit- how did I forget.. I just remembered Welcome to Memverse! I'm The Doctor. :p
