ORAL: 294 (highest possible is 300)
WRITTEN: 456 (highest possible is 600)
GRAND TOTAL: 750

At our local bee we found out that the host is allowed to "Officially release the scores" On or before Wednesday. So we went to our host begging for him to "Officially release" the scores. So he did! (The host is our pastor. We had 3 senors, 5 juniors, and maybe 10 primaries.)

Yeah, I don't know at all what my score was, though I'm pretty sure I did pretty well, since I studied a LOT more this year than I have for previous years. I'll announce mine on Wednesday, if possible.

Our host released all our scores also. I am a Senior.

Considering that I only memorized 14 cards (not word perfect) and only did one week of the sword study, I got:

Oral: 167
Written: 354
Overall: 521

Good job everyone else, I am sure that you did a lot more work than I did:)

I am a Senior National. My written test score was 531 (out of 600) and my oral test score was 300 (out of 300) for a total score of 831.

I don't know. I think I have a good chance but I am not sure how well I did on the written test so I am not sure. How about you? Do you think you will advance?

I think I have a pretty good chance…..I'm about 90% sure I will, but we'll see tomorrow, it's up to the Lord ; )

I'm a Senior and I got a total of 789 points.

If your sister memorized the whole rulebook what did she say about the rule that says that contestants/ family members who have completed/ attended the oral/written test may not be allowed in contact with those who have not completed that part of the competition? My mom attended the oral round for me and both of my brothers. The rule also says that parents may attend the contestants in the oral judging room and other rooms designated by the local hosts. Does this mean that the parents are allowed to have contact with us to attend the oral round if they have already attended it for another one of their children?

Good job everyone. We could get our scores from our host if we wanted to but we don't want to. We can't wait for tonight!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Did you all think that the test was hard? I thought it was very easy. But at nationals everyone thought the test was hard and I thought it was easy I didn't even make it to semi-finals. I did kind of bad on the test at nationals.

Matthew! You know what's really strange - is that you got the score that you thought you would get! You thought you got a perfect oral (and you did) and you thought that you might have missed 30 questions on the test. 30 times 3 is 90, which equals 510, plus 300 = 810 :D Pretty neat, if you ask me.

For me (not quite as good, but I still made it! THANK YOU LORD!)

We were all shocked (with a capital S) when we saw that Nicolas had made 6th. Dad said that I would get to go to Nationals to watch if someone in our family made it. Oral Score: 300 (kinda shocking because I was certain I had made a mistake and told everyone. Then, after I saw my score, I looked up the mistake I thought I made and found out I had said it right.)

Written Score: 519 :/

Total Score: 819 (Slightly lower than last year. It kind of surprised me because I thought I had done better than that.)

Placing: 38th (This was really surprising, I guess this year was less competitive at the top, because I had gotten a worse score but a better ranking)

Oddly enough, I tied with the person who sat next to me at nationals last year (and will again this year.)

Sooooo close!!!! If I had got only one more question right, I would have made it! Only one question away from qualifying!!!
I was really surprised that I got a perfect oral score - I thought that I had made at least one obvious mess-up, but I guess I didn't complete the word all the way, so it was okay. I was shooting for a perfect oral score, and I am very pleased that God blessed my brain that day (especially under all that stress :-)).
Praise God from whom all blessings flow… :-)

I'm happy even though/that I didn't make it to Nationals this year….the schedule for seniors looks pretty crazy!
