Oh, and it's "gotten" not "got." ;) If you want to use "got" you would have to ommit the "has" and say, "…Sam finally got…."
Sorry for being nitpicky, but yeah, I like to fix people's grammar. :)
God's Maiden of Virtue
A friend is giving me a copy of Golliwogg's Cakewalk next week!!!!
^I know, I know, that apparently means nothing to anyone else…^
Emmy
What is that?
Margaret Eddy
I seem to remember it being a really awesome piece of music written by Debussy; I could be wrong, though.
Emmy
Yeah, you're right. Just googled it ;)
Mommy's Helper
I'm so sad. It turned out we couldn't go to the musical. :( :'(
God's Maiden of Virtue
Oh, it is just an amazingly fun piece by Claude Debussy (as Margaret said)!!
You googled it…does that mean you just looked up what it is, or did you listen to it? If not, you should, then let me know what you think! =)
Emmy
Wow, it's beautiful! And it seems like it'd be pretty hard, too! But fun :D
Emily H
Neat! I played a version of it a couple weeks ago that was arranged for trios. It was HARD! xP
God's Maiden of Virtue
@Emmy and Emily: Well, I'm really excited because I don't often get to play pieces quite up to my level, and this is almost just right. I also really enjoy classical songs that are energetic or fast moving or both! And Golliwogg's Cakewalk, I think, is nice and energetic. Not like Rage Over a Lost Penny, but it's good enough for me xD
Have either one of you heard of Maple Leaf Rag? I just recently started learning it - using only the Learn button on our keyboard…yeah, not the best way to learn (at all), but it'll be so worth it! =)
Margaret Eddy
Ah, I played all of those songs long ago in the misty past. I feel really old when I teach them to my students.
Courtney M.
I haven't played it, but we have it, so I'm planning to after I finish Black and White Rag (we call it Zebra Rag among ourselves :P).
God's Maiden of Virtue
Fun!! We'll have to keep each other accountable or something =) Wait, did you mean Golliwogg's Cakewalk or Maple Leaf Rag?
@margaret: Wow, do you teach your students the full versions of those three pieces?
Rachel the Alaskan
We're going home on June 7/8!!!!!! :D. I'm so excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
biblebee
Awesome!!!
Courtney M.
Sorry, I didn't see this until now. ;) I meant Maple Leaf Rag - I haven't heard of the other one. Do you like it?
God's Maiden of Virtue
That's okay. Yes, I do! I like the continual pattern throughout it, so that will make it a lot easier.
Courtney M.
Ah, okay. I'll have to look it up…it seems like maybe my grandpa (a professional pianist) recommended it for me. Not sure… :P
