Well, my favorite book is easily the Bible, but besides that, I have a few others. :) These include The Lord of the Rings series by J. R. R. Tolkien, The Chronicles of Narnia series by C. S. Lewis… and I'm sure there are others, but I haven't read an entire book in such a long time that I can't remember any others at the moment. :)

As I told you before my favorite book series is The Dragons in Our Midst series, but I also enjoy The Chronicles of Narnia. I think I like those two series because they are christian and are fantasy, which I love.

I have so many that when I try to think of them I can't remember them all :D

The Bible is my favorite book. I also like Pilgrims Progress, The Rainbow Promise, The Princess Adelina, and Douglas Bond books, and some G.A. Henty books. I can't think of any more at the moment.

What books do you all want to read?

Well, aside from the Bible, which I'm guessing would be everyone's favorite book, my favorite book is probably Do Hard Things by Alex and Brett Harris… The G.A. Henty books are also great.

Ah yes, Do Hard Things is definitely one of my favorite books too. I've heard a bit about G. A. Henty's books, and I'm rather interested in them. However, I probably won't get around to reading them for quite a while–I have a lot more I'd like to read, and I won't even have time to read them for some time either. :)

Well, other than the Bible, :) I have lots of favorites: Stepping Heavenward, The Princess Adelina, In His Steps…. I like biographies too. :)

Hmmm, I like lots of books. :)

A few that I like are the Henty books and Ballentyne books I've read, I also liked some of the other Lamplighter books, especially the historical fiction ones (like Titus: A Comrade of the Cross). I liked the book Courageous. I also enjoyed the Left Behind series, but a few parts weren't appropriate.

Of course the Bible would be number one.

God's Maiden of Virtue

I really liked Stepping Heavenward; a friend of mine gave it to me in November. It was really good!

Well, next to the Bible, some of my favorites are: Joyfully at Home, It's (not that) Complicated, Raising Maidens of Virtue, The Pilgrim's Progress, Little Women, Beautiful Girlhood, A Young Woman After God's Own Heart, Lamplighters….(and many, many others :))

His Servant

I have lots of favorite books but some of my favorite are Pilgrim's Progress, The Holy War and Shadow of the Almighty.

But, of course, the Bible is definitely my favorite book - by far!!

@Bethany: Lol =D

@SBG: Are you liking "A Lost Pearle"? I haven't read it yet…

@Carissa: Have you read a lot of Missionary bios? :) I haven't read a lot but I really enjoyed all the ones I have read.

@Emily: I really, really, really enjoy reading missionary bios. I haven't read a whole bunch recently but that is changing right now because I have been checking a bunch out at our library. Could you please tell me some of the books that you have read? Have you read the three that I listed?

My favorite missionary bio I read was called "God's Smuggler". Have you read that one? It was SOOOO good. But it was a while sense we read it and I think there was something in the beginning that was kinda bad…because the beginning is all about his life before he became a Christian.
I've also really enjoyed reading biographies written by Janet and Geoff Benge (they have tons of biographies but not only of missionaries) and a book called Daring Deeds from lamplighter, which was several short biographies of several missionaries. That's all I can think of at the moment. :)
No, I haven't read any of those books you listed! Now I want to. :)

Okay, thanks for sharing. I have never read "God's Smuggler" but my brother owns it and I am hoping to read it soon. Oh, I so like the books by Janet and Geoff Benge.

God's Smuggler was amazing!! You're right, too - there was something bad at the beginning - but I can't remember what.

Me neither…. lol I just remember thinking "Oh man, they should have left that part out."

@Carissa, which Benge books have you read?

@Emily: I have read Eric Liddel, Gladys Alyward, and Adoniram Judson

@Jackson: I have read The Kingdom Series and I SOOOOOOOOOOOO liked them :D I am going to place the Knights of Arrthrea on hold now :D I can't wait to read them. Have you read them and if so what did you think of them?

God's Maiden of Virtue

@Jackson - I have read the Kingdom Series and most of the Knights of Arrethtrae. They are really good books! Though, I like the Kingdom Series quite a bit more than the Knights of Arrethtrae.
What are your favorite books from both series?

7dd80386abb09077121e3035a6872af4?s=128&d=mm

God's Maiden of Virtue

I can't quite remember which ones those are. Isn't Kingdom's Hope the one that ends the story of Leinad's life, and then Kingdom's Quest about Gavinaugh's?
My favorites from the Kingdom Series was probably the first three books (Kingdom's Dawn, Hope, and Edge). And then from the Knights of Arrethtrae, Sir Quinlan was definitely my favorite!

I really like Lamplighters! I've read The White Knights, Titus a Comrade of the Cross, Sir Malcolm and the Missing Prince, Fire in the Sky, The White Dove and part of Stephen a Soldier of the Cross. Our family has also read What Happened to Tad and The Robber's Cave.

@jimmy, Emily, Caleb: Thanks. I have read most of the ones y'all mentioned and I really like those as well. I especially like Beric the Briton and For the Temple.
@Jackson: I started reading the Knights of Arrtethrea (I have no idea how to spell it) and I SO like them.

Random Narnian Warrior (Tarva/Abi)

@ everyone: How fast do you read?
I can read 2 Narnia books in a day, or 6 (or is it 7?) Hardy Boys books in a day, or The Robe in 4 days (that's my record shortest time; it's a lo-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-ong book, but worth every minute!). And I definitely read fiction faster than nonfiction.

C28bde243ab1957d69d6429cdf8b5e8e?s=128&d=mm

biblebee

Well, it depends on what I am reading. I can read 2 Knights of Arrethtrae books in a little less than 1 1/2 hours. How long are the Hardy Boys Books?

9a84cdcb9baaf33d3e7a7c012b3b2456?s=128&d=mm

Sir Walter (Jimmy)

@Abi: I can read pretty fast (a few books in a day). Generally, though, I don't have a whole lot of "reading days." I used to have quite a few of them when I was younger, but it is getting more and more difficult to test my speed reading abilities and endurance. :)
