That sounds really good. I mean, anything with vegetables is good (except for celery) :)

Amy, Daniel and I are going on a "sugar-fast" for 49 days….which will put us to the day that Nationals starts. I'm looking forward to it! We've done it many times before, but not in a while :)

Ahh! I can't eat that at all…the strings of it get caught in my braces, and it's so gross. But other than that, I'll eat any vegetable you give me :) I told you I could be a vegetarian!

In 4 weeks! And I super excited about it!! I'll have them enough, in just enough time to practice saying my verses clearly. Since right now with having to wear rubberbands, I don't quote that clearly.

@JJ – Did I forget to mention that I can't stand the taste of it, the smell of it, the feel of it or the texture of it? :) Did you know that someone would die if they tried to live off celery? My mom says that it takes so much work for the body to digest it, that you would die if that's all you ate….I know, very random.

@Emily – yup! I sent out your letter today, btw :)

Meaning, you don't eat anything with sugar in it (unless it's a fruit, and it has natural sugar). We are allowed to make our own rules, so I'm probably going to cut out all bad foods as well (like chips, and such.)

Sorry, to crash the party but I've got a quick question to ask Bethany. Look on the Bible Bee site National Senior Competitors. My picture didn't change…did I do something wrong? When I log in and look at the "me and the bee" tab my picture is correct but it's not correct on the public site.

I might do this fast for a few weeks, i've been trying to lose weight. Can you tell me what the "rules" you are going to use are?

His Servant II (Bethany)

*No eating any desserts (except for birthdays)
*No licking any pans with batter/dough (I made this one, since I always like to lick cake bowls after the batters is poured out :D)
*No waffles/pancakes (we have those every Saturday morning)
*No snacks (like vanilla wafers or graham cracker)
*No chips (yeah, this one isn't sweet, but I wanted to add it anyway)

I don't know if this is all or not, if it isn't, I'll add the rest when I think of them. Let me know if you decide to do it :)

Do sugar free desert count as deserts- example something made with honey or fruit and milk?

Do like boxed whole grain- sugar free crackers count as snacks?

Do you count tortilla chips as chips?

But yes, thanks and I plan to do this for a few weeks sometime soon.

Us three (my brother, sister and I) decided that we could make our own rules on how strict/not strict we wanted to be on it. So, you can do what you want. :)

On the first one yes, you can have things with natural sweetness. I don't know what sugar free crackers are…but if it doesn't have sugar, I guess you can! Yes, I'm counting any chip as a chip :)

But, you can do what you want on this challenge. :)

Here's something interesting I found…I think this shows why so many people are overweight :P

"Two hundred years ago, the average American ate only 2 pounds of sugar a year. In 1970, we ate 123 pounds of sugar per year. Today, the average American consumes almost 152 pounds of sugar in one year. This is equal to 3 pounds (or 6 cups) of sugar consumed in one week!"

That's shocking!!! But, I don't think I eat 3 pounds a week/152 pounds a year :D :P

*No sugar (we are trying to go on a suger-free diet for awhile)

But we still have healthy dessert,
though we aren't allowed to lick the actual bowl usually, we can lick the spatula and measuring cups.
We make gluten-free pancakes with healthy syrup,
and we always have apples or banana chips or something like that for a snack.
We have chips every time Mom makes her Mexican stuff. (That's what we call her rice, black beans and chicken casserole).
