Still not a woman's job. ;-)
Barachel the Buzzite of the Kindred of Ram
But what if the women want to fight!?Why not!?It's a man's job. In the Bible it was the men...not the women...who fought. If God wanted women to be able to do all the same stuff as men He'd have made them men. But He made woman to be man's helpmeet, raise children, etc...
That's why they get marriage!

Two completely different topics. Completely illogical to pull that in.

Two different types of jobs and people. One…anybody can do. The other…fighting…is specifically a man's job. And that wasn't why Christ washed their feet. It's illogical to use it that way.

Carissa I do not appreciate you shooting down her idea. I believe it was neither illogical, nor completely different. Thank you.

I'm sorry! Please forgive me. I'm sorry, Abigail! Please forgive me.
Abigail Rose
Your forgiven.
Andrew
Thanks Carissa. I agree with most of what you say, but I don't see much scriptural support. Do you think if women were as physically capable as men that it would be alright?
biblebee
No, I don't think it would be alright. And there is plenty of Scriptural support. In the battles it was the men. And there are the passages in the NT about women. And in Titus 2 (I think that's the right place) the older women are to teach the younger women to be workers at home. And the women described in Proverbs 31 it does not include going to war.

Oh who ever said anything about a battle?!
Joining the military doesn't always mean fighting girly!
Everyone is trained with a gun, but not everyone fights!
Jsyk…

I tend to agree with Carissa in this. However, if you want to go into the military that is your decision. :) I do hope that you will honor your father in your choice. If God really wants you to go into the military you can trust Him to turn your father's heart to give his blessing in letting you go. :)
Barachel the Buzzite of the Kindred of Ram
All i have to say is….May the LORD rebuke you.

AND I'M DEADPOOL!

You know I'm going to pray for you weather you end up joining the military or not! ;) You're my cousin… and I think a great deal about you! :)

And what does Deadpool think about girls joining the military?
Abigail Rose
Thanks Sarah!

i'd rather they wouldn't, but its not our decision. I just don't like to see girls getting shot and kilt.
Margaret Eddy
I don't like seeing kilts at all. They hurt my eyes and give me a headache. Especially when accompanied by bagpipes.

Quite confusing patterns, to be sure. But don't tell Mr. -Bravefart- Braveheart. He would be displeased.
Christine Daaé (Dani the Older)
You don't like kilts?

Sorry for not getting back to you quickly. I meant that I thought you were not giving scripture to back it up.
Always? Like the midwives in Exodus, the judge Deborah, Delilah, and Anna from the temple?
Sarah B.
Work with Native Americans (if I don't get married).

I hope I dream that I successfully infiltrate Fort Knox before detonating a highly explosive ordinance with in the interior.

Hey now. I was reading through this, and Delilah was NOT a good example. And Anna was extremely elderly? We couldn't expect her to be still raising children and looking after a household. Deborah was an exception, and she was married! Hmm…not sure about the midwives. But I don't think that midwifery is a man's job, so someone has to do it.
Andrew
So, maybe what we should say, is not that in the Bible women are always seen as working at home, but rather that the principle is taught in the Bible. :)
Amara J
I think there are many things I want to be, but probably the best one would be a godly wife and mommy to lots of kids. I would like to be an actress, maybe in the mean time. I'm not sure about it, though.
Courtney M.
Yep. :)
