Happy Birthday

My birthday is September 14th. :)

Mine is September 8th.

@Jordan…yes, I'm not twelve. I actually started getting an average of "are you 14" when I started driving. (Which doesn't make any sense because 14 year old's can't drive but w/e…)

Did you know that if 24 people are in a room, there is a 50% chance that two will share a birthday? It really doesn't sound as though that would be the case, but , statistically speaking, it is (to my great surprise). :)

How? Where did you hear that?

Actually, I made an error. There is a 50% chance with only 23 people. Here are some explanations.

It is really quite fascinating. Essentially. If I were to ask 22 people what their birthdays were, I only have a 22/365 chance that one will share my birthday. However, if everyone's birthday was compared to the others' (instead of only to my own), the chance goes up dramatically. In fact, with 75 people in a room, there is a 99.99% chance that at least two will share a birthday. :)

I know! When we have 23 or so names on our list, we should check to see if there is any overlap. :)

My birthday is February 5 th, and I just turned 20. I'm 5'11.5" and people always think I'm older than my 28 year old sister. I even had someone recently ask if my brother was my husband:) Awkward;)

The worst age guess I've had was when someone asked if my Mom, Sister, and I were three generations. We quickly said no, and didn't even want to ask who they thought the second generation was:)

well…nobody else (until just a few days ago) tries to use that excuse when I say I'm older.

My 20th birthday is just a few days away :) (March 15th). I can definitely relate to the discussion about being guessed younger than I really am - but I really truly don't mind it at all :) I've been told about a hundred times that I'll be grateful for it when I get older - that does remains to be seen!

@Jordan: 17 days is a significant amount of time! Think of all you can get done is 17 days. That's over half a month!!!!! Do you know how many hours I will practice the piano in a normal 17 days? ;)

That can either be a compliment to you, that you looked older, or a compliment to your mom that she looked younger, so either way, I guess it's good:)
