Making Movies

My siblings and I were making a movie today! Although we ARE NOT good actors, it's still fun! I can hear my brother in the other room editing it :D And the 2 other brothers trying to memorize a verse together - it's kind of funny listening to them :)

I wish I could make a movie!!! But…I don't have a movie camera. :-( Hopefully I'm going to buy one sometime soon, though.

I have a new respect for the people who do stop-motion and brickfilms I'm attempting to film the 'Misty Mountaions' scene with Legos. The hardest part (so far) is that I don't have thorin!!!! So I'm planning on using Kili with a different shirt I think. :)

Or you could get the "Warg Attack"(or whatever it's called) set……it comes with Thorin and Bifur!

FTR, I just finished watching all the behind the screens stuff, they only show Tauriel once for like 5 seconds when she is pretending to kiss the Orc. :P lol how did u even know that was her?? Lol I guess from the Lego toy probably. Lol :)

Yeah, when you have awesome spiritual sisters( hm, aren't I chatting to one right now?) like I do, you get some nice b-day gifts! Like the Spider Attack one, with Legolas and Tauriel. She looks like she'll be a cool character. I do wonder if Kili and Legolas will fight over her though. Despite my annoyance at Kili/Tauiel, that would be entertaining! :D

That would be so entertaining!!!!! :P oh that's an interesting question whose better looking Legolas or Kili??? Wow. :) :P jk!! :) She does seem like a cool character though. :) I wonder if Legolas and Tauriel will rescue the dwarfs from the spiders. :P that would be so embarissing for Kili!!!! ;P :) :P :)

Has anyone watched the "From Script to Cinema" series by Vision Forum? I just started watching them, and it's awesome!

Um… I don't know. I just borrowed it through the Family Vision Library, which we signed up for a year. They would have it on the Vision Forum website, though, so you could check out the price there. The first one (the one I just finished watching) is called "Biblical Worldview and Theology for Christian Filmmakers." It was videoed with Doug Phillips and Geoff Botkin speaking at the San Antonio Christian Film Festival academy in 2006.

My sister and I have made a couple of movies, but they're just really goofy 5-minute fake news broadcasts. And we did them with my regular camera (I don't have a video camera), so my voice sounds really bad.

My older brother watched them. I probably will sooner or later if we still have them. :) I love the drudgery of film making.

you love the drudgery of film making? so do I, but it's hard to when you have actors like mine.

Like shot after shot after shot from 2mm of different angle etc. etc. I never actually made a film though.

We make movies with some of our friends in So CA. Last December we made a 45- minute one about a prince in the Renaissance time. The problem is, the only boy we have is my 6-year-old brother. :P

Then, last week, we made a really short Western- my voice is still hoarse from shouting to people across the crammed playhouse! :D I got to play the fiddler :)

OK, seriously, don't tell me that no one in interested in making movies!

Last week, we made a movie with some friends in So CA, but we need to go back and film the last scene…

What's it about?

It is a musical western. Pretty much there are twin brothers (played by the same girl), and one of them robs the bank in the town where the other one lives etc. etc. In the last scene, the two of them are going to confront each other.

Brothers, played by the same girl. sounds interesting, yet a little strange.

The one I'm working on is called, "Non-Epic Movie: an Example of Bad Film making."
It's pretty much a comedy skit with a lot of ridiculous fights, plots, etc

Yeah, the only boy we have is my six-year-old brother…

I made a video in memory of my Great-Grandpa, and showed it at my aunt's house last Thanksgiving to all my relatives. It turned out pretty well, considering that I was scanning in all the pictures, as they didn't have digital cameras before he died. My next project is a sort of "documentary" about the Bible Bee, following our family and showing every step of the way. :) A few friends of mine are REALLY into film-making, and they have made a documentary on a young lady named Amy Vest, and also a story called Excelsior: Ever Higher. I haven't seen it, but it sounds like they did a good job for one of their first projects.
