Because they each have their own power source. It doesn't have to be in Tony if it's in the suit. This was even explained in Iron Man 3, with the House Party Protocol, remember? :)

I don't know much about the comics, but I do know that the Mandarin is no actor. It was pretty majorly disappointing… and I still can't find a good reason for why they did it.

My parents are Nigerian, making me 100% African. Do I go around whining about how there aren't enough black superheroes or video game stars? Nope. S'just how the world works. I agree we need more, but making a fuss over every little thing is annoying and tiring, not to mention nitpicky and not a very good representation of the fandom you enjoy.

Besides, the whole "race" card is thrown around too much where it doesn't apply, and not used most of the time it does, in today's world.

Nope. When IM3 was being released, all the trailers appeared to have a (fairly) comic-accurate Mandarin who was Asian. When that was revealed to be a fib, fans got mad. :P

But, we DID get a Marvel One-Shot in the Special Features for the Blu-Ray edition of Thor: The Dark World that insinuates that the real Mandarin wasn't Killian or Trevor…so my fingers are crossed. ;)

A guy posing as a journalist busted into the prison where Trevor was kept, did some crime (shot some guys), and took Trevor hostage, saying something along the lines of "You weren't the Mandarin", or something. It's been a while since I've seen it, so I'll post something better and more akin to a review of that short tomorrow. ;)

I've seen all the adventures of the 9th Doctor (who is who you'll probably start with), and the first season with the 10th, and yes, it's really good! No bad language, nearly no inappropriate scenes, and if you like sci-fi, you'll love Doctor Who! :)
