The last musicians thread built up so many pages that I decided to start a new fresh one! :)

BTW… a question for you all…

What is your favorite music genre?

Christian "rock". i.e: Tenth Avenue North, and Casting Crowns. Also some rap, like Shai Linne, and Timothy Brindle, and tobyMac

Ahem… Christian rap. :D I really enjoy the incredibly large amount of theology some Christian rappers can pack into one song. :)

Sorry, that had nothing to do with music. I'm chief of off-topic-posting. ;) I like Casting Crowns too but I've kinda not listened to them a lot so I don't care for their drums so much. What I've always appreciated in their songs is that, though they have drums, you can always hear the singer over the drums. :) (at least in the ones I've heard)
I really prefer a good classical sonata though. :P
Some singers who's work I've enjoyed have been: Stephen Curtis Chapman, Josh Wilson, Jj Heller, Francesca Battistelli, and the Gettys. (that's all I can think of right now.

@Sam: Billy Jojo McGuthrie?? Wow…it's growing. :P Well, he hasn't successfully given me a name yet! I'd like to see him try to call me that longer one. :P
No, I've never seen that BlimeyCow…my bro told me about it though. It sounds really funny. :P (and true!) Have y'all seen Live Life on a Diet by Tim Hawkins? It's another one of his put different words to a well known tune songs…their only funny if you know the real song. :P

@Bethany: Klezmer and Gypsy Jazz are fun! I've only heard a bit of what my brother has listened to.

As for the original question I like Christian Hip-Hop, Rap, and Pop the most. :)

I know his some of Lecrae's songs, but not many of them. Christian listens to him a lot more than I do, though. :) I don't think I'll be warming up to him anytime soon, though, considering some of the choices he's been making recently…

I like a lot of Musicians. I haven't really listened to Lacrae (I love rap but my mom doesn't like it so much). I really like Sanctus Real, Sidewalk Prophets, Royal Tailor (an upstart band with only one album out), Unspoken (another upstart band with only one album out), Fireflight, Skillet, Casting Crowns, Jamie Grace (new to the music scene as of 2011), and (of course!) Tobymac.
I want to go into music journalism (as a Christian music reviewer) as a profession, so I listen to a ton of christian music. :)

Oh my gosh!!!! Some one who likes almost as many bands as I do!!! :) does ur mom disaprove of Rap or does she just not prefer to listen to them? I LOVE royal tailor!! :) i used to listen to Sanctus Real's older music all the time :) I like there newer stuff too. :) I love side-walk prophets songs, 'live like that' and 'you love me anyway' is such an awesome song! :) unspoken is ok I kinda like thier song 'who u are', Fireflight is awesome too! :) my favorite song of her's in probably 'the hunger' oh and 'u decide' :) I love that song! :) I really like Skillet too, I've seen them in concert twice! (Once with Disciple and another band) and then once with Toby Mac! :) have u heard their new single(s)? I like casting crowns. :) I like some of Jamie Grace's music. :) and of course everyone likes Toby Mac!! :) lol JK (I've seen him in concert twice too. ;) lol once with skillet and once with lots of other bands. :) lol)

If not u should really check em' out!! :) They r probably my favorite chrisrian band. :) they r like a cross between pop and hip-hop not to mention they have awesome hair!!! lol that was only the tip of the iceberg. :) I love a lot of Christian Music. I went to Winter Jam this year and saw a bunch of these people. It was the first time I saw TobyMac, and it was also the first time I saw SideWalk Prophets (I'm actually wearing a "live like that" shirt right now! You should check out my other music related forum (For all the Christian Music Fans) and I have a music review I did on winter jam this year (I went to the one in Grand Rapids, MI).
I haven't checked out Group1Crew, but I will look them up on iTunes when I can!!
My mom just doesn't like Rap. She prefers Music from people like Lauren Talley and Jason Crabb…. They're great, but I like electronic sounds better. :)

me too! :) I love the electronic sound! :) just warning u when u check out G1C don't go for their older stuff, lol it's aweful :) lol I listen to the albums 'outer space love' and 'fearless' the most. :) I might post some links to my favorite song some time. :) lol

Oh and have u ever heard of capital kings? :) they r new and they r pretty good. :) I love the electronics and they r Christian. :) here is their best song, I think. :) lol

I heard about capital kings when I was at winter jam. I came in at the very end of their performance, but what I heard, I didn't like. Live, their vocals were WAY off. I didn't check them out (due to the bad WJ experience), but I will look them up the next time I get on youtube or iTunes.

Hmm. I never heard them live but I think they sound pretty good on record. :) lol my older brother went to the Winter Jam this year. :) he said it was gr8. :)

I looked Capital Kings up on iTunes, and they are tight! I think I might buy their cd when I have the money to do so. :)

Oh yeah! :) lol my favorite song of theirs is 'Night of my life' then that song, did u listen to the 'Live it up (dance floor remix)' and the 'walking on the stars' remix? I love the 'walking on the star remix! :)

I haven't as of yet, but I will. I will get on iTunes right now and check them out! :)
