I'm surprised no one has started this topic yet! I don't plan on contributing too much to this discussion, but I know it'll be fun for others.

Who's going to win the Republican nomination? Will Ron Paul come out of nowhere and take it all?! What's your opinion of Mitt Romney? Is anyone reeeally disappointed that Santorum dropped out? Which of the candidates has the ability to defeat Pres. Obama?

Discuss!

I think in spite of Mitt Romney's 5-state sweep yesterday, Ron Paul is gonna overtake him the rest of the way. I mean, sure, Romney is leading in the faux delegate count 729 to Paul's 75, but I've found some underground delegate counts that have them really neck-and-neck, a statistical dead heat.

RON PAUL 2012!!!!

Forasmuch as I might rather have Paul than Romney, Paul has no chance. Sure he'll get more delegates than people expect. But Paul's not going to get much support higher than 25% and ROmney will sweep all the rest of the states.

Right. Look, the counts aren't underground. He's going to be in Florida. That means he has to have won at least five states (as far as delegates go). Here are some of them: Minnesota, Iowa (so now we have a third winner), Maine (most likely) and I forget the rest. www.dailypaul.com has something about which ones he has or most likely will win.
Sure, he probably won't win (okay Wretched Man, mark this date on your calendar), but with God, all things are possible. We don't want Obama, we don't want Romney, and we DO want Paul, even if it might not happen.
BTW, Paul has WAY more than 75 delegates. (seriously)

No, I'm not serious in the least. I just wanted to get @Octo all hyped up, which is easy to do.

To be serious, I think this will be the first election that I will not be voting for any of the major parties. (It should have been 2008, but I caved at the last second because of Mrs. Palin.)

But not this time! I don't care who Romney picks as his VP candidate; he is NOT the right man for the job, and he will singlehandedly destroy any hope for any remaining semblence out there of true Christianity and conservatism in a candidate. From now on, normal conservatives and genuine Christians will be painted by the media as far right-wing extremists, and the general public will agree with it, because they'll have Romney (the moderate Mormon) as their measuring stick.

Do I sound too gloom-and-doom? Good! Because the sky is falling!

I personally like political discussions, but in light of what Andy said about godly people on both sides of every debate and about our preference for not having political discussions on this site, I am locking this topic for now. As Andy mentioned, there are a lot of sites geared toward political discussions that you can use….

Thank you for understanding.
