God's Maiden of Virtue

Here is a recipe for a dessert that our family really likes!

Strawberry Pizza Servings: 12

Ingredients:

6 tablespoons butter or margarine softened; 1/2 cup sugar; 1 egg; 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract; 1/4 teaspoon almond extract; 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour; 1/2 teaspoon baking powder; 1/2 teaspoon salt

Ingredients for the filling:

1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened; 1/2 cup confectioner's sugar; 2 cups sliced fresh strawberries; 1 cup sugar; 1/4 cup cornstarch; 2 cups crushed fresh strawberries

Directions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar for 2 minutes. Beat in egg and extracts. Combine flour, baking powder and salt; gradually add to cream mixture and mix well. Cover and refridgerate for 1 hour.

  2. On a floured surface, roll dough into a 13-in. circle. Transfer to an ungreased 12-in. pizza pan. Build up edges slightly. Bake at 350 degrees F for 18-22 minutes or until slightly browned. Cool completely.

  3. In a mixing bowl, beat cream cheese and confectioner's sugar until smooth. Spread over crust. Arrange sliced strawberries on top.

  4. In a saucepan, combine sugar, cornstarch and crushed strawberries until blended. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened. Cool slightly. Spoon over strawberries. Refridgerate until serving.

I hope you enjoy this delicious dessert!

God's Maiden of Virtue

Anything easy. :D No, I'm completely kidding! :D One thing I enjoy making and have to make a lot is Frito salad. We take it to church for the lunch every first and third Sunday, and to special events (such as weddings). It has been named by some as the Alexander salad :-)

2 Corinthians 5:17

Here's a really easy recipe for Homemade Chocolate Shell to put on your ice cream! :D

2 parts chocolate to about 1 part coconut oil! (For example, 1/2 cup chocolate chips and a bit more than 1/4 cup coconut oil!)
Place in a saucepan, and melt/mix together. After it's melted, cool a bit and Enjoy! :D
It will harden and create chocolate goodness on your IC! :D

Homemade iccie/slushey.

1/2 cup sugar

1 can soda

3 cups ice

add sugar and half of soda together and blend in blender until sugar is devolved. Add ice and the rest of the soda and blend until a fine, but not watery consistence. If you want a thicker drink put it in the freezer for about 30 minutes.

I used grape and it was ok. I am going to try strawberry next time. We buy special sodas(carbonated water, sugar, and juice), but it would taste good with sprite, of you can probably get some of the mentioned soda from target, we sometimes get it there….

It's just juice and water before, besides it's a lot healthier than sodas with corn syrup.

Proclaimer of the Good News

I make my own granola cereal. Here is the recipe:

4 cups rolled oats
1 cup almonds
1/3 cup sunflower seeds
1/3 cup of raisins
1/3 cup canola oil
1/2 cup honey
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tbs. Cinnamon

Preheat oven to 300 degrees F

In large bowl, stir oats, nuts, sunflower kernels together. In separate bowl, mix together oil, honey, vanilla and cinnamon. Add to dry ingredients; mix well. Spread ingredients onto two ungreased baking sheets.

Bake in preheate oven for 10 minutes or until golden brown. Take out of oven and let sit for 20 minutes or until almost cool.

It tastes REALLY good!

Once, when I was about seven, I made up a "recipe" for chocolate chip cookies. It went something like this:
2 cups brown sugar
1 cup white sugar
1 cup flour
2 cups chocolate chips
1 cup milk
Stir and bake.

If anyone's looking for a recipe NOT to make, here it is! ;-)

No. I remember I showed it to my mom to ask her what she thought of it, and she told me it wouldn't work because there was way too much sugar. :-)

I am going to stock up on energy/ protein bars for cycling season soon. I have several recipes (10), but I was wondering if anyone had a recipe they really liked.

How to Smoke a Ham (and a house) by Carol Frisk (My mom)

Note- for most dramatic effect, this is best attempted at the time of a holiday meal.

Step one- Preheat oven to 275 F and cook ham 12 minutes per pound
Step two- Remove ham. Preheat oven to 475 while you cover ham in glaze
Step three- Since the oven is STILL not done preheating, you might as well work on the homemade rolls. Put butter into a glass dish and put in oven while waiting for oven to preheat
Step four- Remove butter once melted. Use a slippery hot pad and dump melted butter into the bottom of the gas oven and stand back FAST!
Step five- Grab the fam and everyone sing “Chestnuts roasting on an open fire” while enjoying the flames that are lapping and dancing, laughing hysterically at your misfortune. If anyone sings off key, send them to to open windows and turn off smoke alarms.
Step six- Once the flames have died down, put the ham in the oven. You will notice billows of smoke emerging from the oven. Perfect! This is how you smoke your ham.

(Based on our actual experiences with our Christmas ham. :-) )
