RP Training: James of Pennoh

James had been traveling all day. The long trek from his homeland of Pennoh to the prized Kolath City had seemed shorter on the maps he had studied. Ah! Kolath City! How he had dreamed of that city as a boy! His life in Pennoh was mostly uneventful, the daily life of his father's merchant shop was punctuated mostly by chores: loading and unloading the caravans for their travels, making sure the shop was well stocked, taking the inventory of their wares. The days he treasured most were when his father's traders would stop in for more goods on the way to sell. They would tell stories of the places they had visited, and the adventures they had. Oh, how he thrived on those tales! They were what drove him to join the Paltik Academy of the Sword at fifteen. He wanted to be a warrior, an adventurer, a man of importance. And so, he traveled on…..

OOC: I'm assuming this is just a "mock" Rp, right?

IC: ??I climb a hill thinking it will take me forever to make it to the city, when I go over it and see the beautiful city not a mile from where I stood?? At last! I've arrived!

He hears a noise behind him

OOC: You didn't answer my question.

IC: ??notches arrow to bow?? Is someone there? walks towards noise

OOC: Yes.

IC: He hears more noises behind him, and turns to see that he is surrounded by Multaka raiders. The leader steps forward

"Surrender, and we will not kill you. Resist, and you die."

*suddenly I step forward from behind a tree with my sword drawn*

OOC: You're a noble of Kolath City. Why'd you be in the Outlands?

OOC: Good point...I don't know...I don't exactly know what I'm doing yet...

OOC: Which is why I specified this for Ian.

OOC: I want practice! Could you make one specified for Turner? (Or do you want me to do something like that myself…?)

OOC: Who is Ooc? Don't think I have met him.

OOC: Gee… neither have I. That's a good point. :P

OOC: But… doesn't it make sense? I mean, the guy stepped right up to him. If you don't like it, maybe you could just have the guy knock James to the ground before he has a chance to shoot him?

OOC: I said stepped forward, not walked up to James. Big diff. He was still closer to his men than he was to James.

Ok so what's the point of the narration at the beginning?

I'm giving a backstory to this part of the RP. Most RPs are based off of movies, books, etc, and already have a story that you're RP-ing out of. We just made these characters, and our RP is based 30 years after TSTNE, so I'm trying to establish the world, and Ian's character.

Not if they're well-trained, which they obviously are.

And after being trained for 6 years, he isn't capable of… nvm

I'm RP Master right now. I give out parts of the story. And, he's tired. He's been traveling for a while. And, he's 17. :P

two of the thugs start moving towards you

OOC: How many are there again?

OOC: Six, plus the leader.

OOC: Thanks!

IC: takes the one guy out with my arrow, then unsheathes short-sword, and takes care of the other one.

as the two fall, the rest surge towards you
"Take him alive! I want him ALIVE!" the leader roars, uncoiling the chainwhip around his waist
two raiders run at you from the front, while the other two begin circling around

I see a tree branch just a few feet above me and jump for it Hah! I'm grab it while the four below me bump into each other Ha ha!

OOC: Nice save! If I were giving out points, you'd get bonus points for originality and inventiveness! :D

IC: as the raider collide, the leader's whip coils around the branch you're standing on, and he pulls hard, breaking the branch off

I land on my feet, and throw my dagger at the leader which hits his chest

he screams and falls to the ground. At te sight of the death of their leader, the raiders yell, and run away

I walk up to him and find that he is truly dead I wish I didn't have to do that. I take the dagger out of his chest At least I'm almost there.

OOC: I hate to be a bother, Sam, but I need something to go on. :)

OOC: Thine wish is my command!

IC: you notice that the leader has a blue velvet bag tied to his belt. A bag, that has a royal symbol on it
