It's awkward when you meet someone new, and you're talking, and then you don't know what to say, so you just say, "So, yeah." ;)

Or if you say something about the food, and it doesn't come out right, and they think you insulted it.

If you're at someone's house, and they say, "So how do you like the food?" or something to that effect, and you didn't really like it, so you say, "It's….pretty good…"

Yeah…some I can laugh at now :) Others…not yet…
At nationals last year I was going to meet someone on here (I'm not telling you who) and I introduced myself to them and they didn't say anything! I was really glad when someone else come up and started talking :)

Meeting new people can be so embarrassing! I never say the right thing.

@Rachel M.: I know!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That happens to me at nationals ALL. THE. TIME!!!!!!! That's why I just stand slightly behind Bethany when she's talking to people and listen to their conversation.

:) I like sticking close to Courtney, because she knows the people I want to meet, but I feel awkward introducing myself… :D

Okay :) I guess we each have someone we stick close to :)

Now I just ask people (if they're girls my age) if they like horses or cats or something, and if they do, I tell them about our cats and how much I like horses and what kinds I like; things like that.

One of the families in our church moved here a few years ago, and they had a daughter my age that I had been writing. I was so scared the first time she came to our house, and I had to talk to her. I asked my sister before she got there what to say, and when she got there, I repeated my sisters words almost exactialy, because I didn't know what to say.

That's a good idea…only problem is…I always forget to ask stuff like that when I'm actually meeting people.

It depends on who I'm introducing myself to :) Sometimes I can just jump right in and talk talk talk, and other times I'm more like "uh, hi…." :P

Around people that I don't know I can NEVER just jump right in and talk talk talk.

Yeah, the only time I can do that is if they're already talking to someone I know.
