Because. You need to know how our government is set up and how it all works. What power the president has/doesn't have. So much is going on in the fovernment these days and it is best to be somewhat informed about it all. Also, it helps us to learn from the mistakes of the past. Remember, those who do not know the past are condemned to repeat it.

But I'm not going to be a government worker or politician! So I don't have to worry about repeating the past. And why do I have to know the powers of the president? It's not like he cares, and there are enough people already keeping him from doing anything too insane.

You know...just randomly throwing this out there...I am thinking about taking the next week off from studying and focusing on music, Bible study, memory goals, listening to sermons and reading. No matter how much I like to study, I've gotten a little weary with it lately. :/

Well, that sounds to me like a worthy replacement, if you are indeed growing weary of studying. It's probably good for you to take a short break. :)

Usually I can find some benefit or interest in them, but this one made me feel as though I were studying something that would never profit me.
