I wonder why I'm even starting this…and it's weird typing 2017 about something that's not in the future. Anyways, happy new year to you few loyal memversers who still get on here!

Happy New Year, everyone! I'm not sure if I qualify as a loyal memverser, since BB takes precedence for half the year and also because I've only been here two years, but anyway I love and appreciate y'all ;D.

We're currently in Taiwan for a missionary conference…so…there's that. And a number of the mosquitoes here are currently carrying a particular disease, so this is interesting. All the missionary moms who are expecting can't go outside from the afternoon until the next morning because they're particularly susceptible to the disease. :-P
Also, we got word that one of the two other kids from my confirmation class at our church back in the States died. Nobody really knows what happened, but the circumstances are a wee bit shady.

Do the forums look normal to anyone else! For me, it's changed back to the gray and green color scheme.

@Abi one of my friends just got back from Taiwan! Strange coincidence.

Ooh, now I get to see what the new forums are supposed to look like! ….niiiiiiiice. ^u^

The sympathy written on my friend's face as she looked into my eyes was so immense it took my breath away.
"This is your last time here, isn't it?"
"Yes," I replied, sounding braver than I felt. "I suppose I've grown up. I've learned what I can here, and now it's time for me to live in my own world."
"I'm so sorry… Can you bear it?"
"I think so. It's all so very different from what I expected… You'll understand when your time comes."
My friend nodded her head and looked at the ground. "It's just so hard to think that you'll never be coming back."

With that, I gave her and my other friends – friends so close they felt like family – one last hug, turned to take one last look before stepping back to my own world, holding on to the promise:
