Social Chatting June 2016

Tries to remember..Washington Monument, Reflection Pool, Lincoln Memorial, White House, Supreme Court, a couple museums, and some other stuff I don't remember since that was 7 year ago lol. Wbu?

I don't remember everything either, 'cause I've been to DC three times since and I get the trips confused. We didn't really do museums in '09… we walked around to a lot of monuments and war memorials. Oh, and we went to Arlington National Cemetery. That was really, really impressive in a humbling sort of way.

I can imagine it was! I haven't been there though. I've only been to DC once.

Ah, okay. Well, you can't really see everything in one trip. xD What was your favorite location for Nats?

Well Texas is just awesome, and it was the best year yet, so probably last year, except that Tennessee had the best scenery in my opinion. Wbu?

I thought Sevierville had the best scenery too, but you're right, Texas is a pretty cool state. xD I hardly got to do any sightseeing at Nats last year, though, because I was always talking to people. :D

The only sightseeing we did was to go see the Alamo with the you-know-whos after nats was over. But the Alamo isn't much to see, and it was cold and windy and unpleasant. And after all, even scenery can't compete with talking to Bible Bee friends! ;D

Aw, that's kinda too bad. We did go to the Alamo, and part of the river walk, but it was dark. :P I loved seeing the Alamo though- I love history! But yeah, once you haven't seen your friends for a year… you just talk for a long time. xD

Yes, at the other hotel when we were together before nationals and supposed to be reviewing verse we spent most of the time talking. After all, how can friends not see each other for 4 years and not talk? Ah..I'm going to miss Bible Bee when its over. :p

Haha, I usually shut myself up the evening of registration to study… then I talk to people after prelims. xD Except in 2013 I hardly talked to anyone at all until the last day. xP You better enjoy BB now, because it always ends way too soon! ;)

Well considering we came down two days early to see them we couldn't very well lock ourselves up in our respective hotel rooms and ignore each other until after the competition, lol! We made sure we got a bunch of extra studying in before arriving in preparation for the inevitable.
You'd better be sure I'm enjoying it! If only it could last forever though lol!

Oh, well, I guess that wouldn't really work then. xD

Have you gone back down for the GS? (Sorry if I'm not supposed to ask that… :P Don't answer if you're not supposed to say. xP)

I know, right? Last month we had to challenge ourselves to reach sixty pages, and we were still technically one post short, but now it's five days into June and we're already over sixty!

I'm pretty sure Marija getting back on had a lot to do with it. Thanks, Marija! xD

I made verse cards for John 13-15, dividing the chapters up into 8 passages. I started today and my goal is to memorize 1 passage per day, so I (hopefully!) should have it all memorized in 8 days.
