2 Corinthians 5:17

Emily, that's okay…cause I'm laughing now too. xD Katrina: Eek! A random guy doing that to your vehicle would be so scary. Hopefully I looked like an non-ill-meaning random lady. =PPP

And YES! Emily! That happens to me all. the. time. xD

@"Rachel the Carolinian " That's hilarious! But I'm terrified that it will happen to me someday (that, as well as locking the keys in the car and saying "I love you" on the phone to a non-family member).

@"Emily H" Yes! I always hear Hudson when I read KJV. And sometimes, I'll read a verse in ESV, and I can hear him saying it in KJV :).

When you see a 15-passenger while driving home, with 2 parents and 8 kids on the back… and you start straining frantically to see if it's anyone you know. xD

Aw Matthew, that's awful! :( (the thing about having not-the-best memories attached to passages, not the other one :P)

@"Matthew Minica" Same here. I don't think I'll ever be able to read Philippians 2:12-18 or Isaiah 11:1-10 (which, unfortunately, is read quite frequently this time of year) without feeling a little pain. But then there are verses like Romans 12:19 that I have really warm and fuzzy feelings about.

@"Emily H" I LOVE 1 Corinthians 1:18-31! But who recited it? (I was sort of in a daze for various reasons during the challenge rounds.)

K

Aw, I totally know what you mean, Anna! :-/ It's just really too bad that I feel sad when I read 1 Peter 2:20-23 five years later. xP But then there are completely random passages like Jeremiah 13:1-19 or Amos 5:18-19 that I love because I have good memories of them. xD

Anna, Haha, yeah, I know what you mean. That was the passage that I made a really dumb mistake on that I hadn't made since I first started learning it. =PPP

@"Emily H" I know I should remember this, but did you recite another passage in semis after they got you confused with the other Emily? I thought I remembered you messing up on Psalm 62:1-12, because I remember that you left out a "selah".
Ah, that is frustrating! That's the way Philippians 2:12-18 was for me. It definitely makes me remember that God is in control, because I had only messed up on that one once or twice; whereas, for most passages, I mess up 5-infinity times :).

…you bike around the block (more than a mile) in 18 and a half minutes (which really isn't very fast, I've known people to do a 5k in the same amount of time:P), and when you get back you have a headache, your clothes are quite wet, and your legs feel like jelly… =P

Emily H

Yeah, I did. xP I had totally lost all concentration by then. Listening to the video afterward, I think I said it right until I got to the first selah. I couldn't decide if there was a selah there or not but then I thought, "Ha, doesn't really matter, does it! I'm gonna say selah!" and then I just started saying random phrases that came to mind which happened to be parts of the next two or three verses all mixed up, then I think I said the end of it fine too. xP
Taylor: That was one of my favorite verses!
Me: Yeah, mine too!
Taylor: slightly perplexed And you messed up on it…?
Me: Yeahhhh… xP

Ah, okay. I hardly realized when people messed up in semis (even when it was in ESV), because it just didn't feel real, but for some reason I noticed the "selah". Probably because I had trouble with the selahs, so I had said that part many times :).

Haha, yes! It's amazing how you can mess up on your very favorite passages. I think that we can sometimes get so carried away reciting those with expression that we forget to be careful to recite accurately: ).

Emily H

It was kinda the same way for me…haha, I was actually having a hard time focusing on anything for weeks leading up to nats, and if I was trying to spot a fellow KJVer (we kept coming back from reciting and asking if we got it right and everyone else would be like "Uhhhh, we weren't listening…", so we decided to make sure one or two people were following along each time a KJVer quoted :P) I had to try so hard and close my eyes and whisper the verse along with them. I had a lot of trouble with the selahs too. :P

I know! That, and also, one time I had a friend in semis and when he got a verse he knew really well he just went through it really fast and didn't slow down to think and pronounce carefully, and slurred two words together to where the judges didn't hear the second one. :( But my favorite ones I don't necessarily always know super well. xP

K

is very interested in what you guys are saying because I didn't know what happened in Senior Semis :P

D31c974fe43f1230dbcb183971bfbdec?s=128&d=mm

Emily H

=P Do you mean the whole mix-up? Basically I messed up, then they eliminated the other Emily instead, so when I got back to the backstage I started telling anyone who was standing anywhere around there that they had got us mixed up and then one of the guys that was sort of in charge pretty much said "Okay, okay, we'll get this worked out, but in the meanwhile we need you to go back and say another verse because it's your turn, and for Emily C to sit out this round." Okay, sure, whatever, I'd love to have another opportunity to quote God's Word if He's going to give me another opportunity. xP I'm still not sure which passage I got eliminated on. xD

6eaece308ed9916f6205164f3617f683?s=128&d=mm

K

Ohh, I didn't even know there was a mix-up at all. :P (My laptop died after the second round of Senior Semis, and we'd lost electricity until sometime in the middle of the night. So I didn't watch past the second round. xP) That's kinda crazy though… :P

2 Corinthians 5:17

…when you sit down to write National memories, but you get so nostalgic you can hardly write without nearly tearing up. sigh Miss you all tremendously… ♥

Now you know the agony of nostalgicism (should be a word) that I endured while writing my blog post… :)

2 Corinthians 5:17

Ah, I can believe it!!! I'm trying to remember all the little details…I wanted to start sooner so I would have remembered more of them, but oh well… =/ Anna, can you come see me please? XD

46ebbbfa6be61e25feb8e61dfb37cff1?s=128&d=mm

M27

I know how you feel. I felt like my memories got fuzzy really quickly. I would love to! :D But I think that it's your turn to visit me :).

And I wish that it had been snowing here :P. But 80 degrees is better than 50, I think.

You know you're in Bible Bee if, while watching the inauguration, you think, "I'm sorry, Mr. President…but you just lost 100 points."

When? I only watched the swearing in (and for that, he could have made a mistake without me realizing it, since I wasn't checking him in my brain).

D31c974fe43f1230dbcb183971bfbdec?s=128&d=mm

Emily H

Haha, @anna, he sorta quoted Psalm 133:1, and said something about the "sons of God" or "children of God" or something like that. Me: "Nooooo, it be Denver and Taylor." =P

46ebbbfa6be61e25feb8e61dfb37cff1?s=128&d=mm

M27

Haha! I didn't see that part. Well, that may be better than saying "two Corinthians" :).
