Not really, since I recently told you how to spell it. I'd be more surprised if you forgot again so quickly. ;P

Sorry, like Danielle said it is a quote from the movie. :) I'll try to stop confusing you now. ;)

So, every time I watch or read LOTR (which I very strongly enjoy, let me assure you) I wonder…why on earth didn't the council of Elrond call for one of the eagles and send Frodo to Mordor that way? Seems like it would have saved about two and a half volumes of stress.

Here is why, The eagles are selfish creatures that would never help anyone. But they owe Gandalf a debt so they will rescue him when he has no other way out. There r more obvious reasons also like they would probably be seen and shot etc. ;)

But the eagles came and rescued Frodo out of Mordor. I know they didn't want to help the dwarves in The Hobbit, but I think in a case of the survival of Middle Earth they would know that they had to help or be destroyed with the rest of the good creatures.

I don't see how an eagle is more conspicuous that two Hobbits wandering along the border of Mordor.

True, but they can also fly way WAY up in the air. High enough to not be seen from the ground, except perhaps by elvish eyes. Did you see them take on the Nazgul? The witch king may have been more powerful, but the other eight aren't. (in my opinion.)

Anyway, 'tis just an theory of mine. As long as you don't mind a friendly debate I'm happy to continue, but I don't want to go too far. :)

Just finished watching LoTR, which is why I've been thinking about it.

Ok. ;) eventually they would have to come down though. :) and I doubt that they would want to risk fighting the NAZGUL just to get some silly little Hobbit into an territory where he's likely to get killed anyway on a quest that they were to narrow minded to understand. ;) are u going to nats? :)

Okay, I know I shouldn't be wasting the time to post here, but yesterday my mind somehow came up with this poem. Not having read the books, I'm not sure what it's worth; you all can decide.
By the way, in the second line of the second stanza, there's an accent on the 'sen' of Isengard. So here it is:

« Draw the Knives »
Draw the knives (drop the forks),
Fight the battles and kill the orcs,
Pass the guard at Moria's gates,
That's what Dark Lord Sauron hates.

Cut the webs; panic Shagrat,
While ents knock Isengard flat,
Stab the wraith at Pelennor,
Walk with orcs through dark Mordor!

Dump the Ring in a lava hole,
Break the power of Sauron's soul,
When you're finished if he is whole -
Send him in the Void to roll!
That's what Dark Lord Sauron hates!

EDIT: I've not seen the movies either. For a moment there, I forgot they even existed!

The Mirror of Galadriel, of course…
No. I've learned about it from various places, some of which are: My dad, some of my friends, (Octavius, Sam, and SavedByGrace, mainly), Wikipedia, and the Ardalambion (because I'm more interested in Tolkien's languages than his stories.)
