I saw the film at the San Antonio Independent Christian Film Festival a couple weeks ago. It was the runner-up for Best Feature Film and a finalist for Best of Festival!

I voted for Remember. It's a futuristic feature set in 2050. The main character, Capt. Carl Onoway, works for the Federal Child Protection Agency. His job is to make sure that the old Plato adage, "No father should know his child and no child should know his father," was carried out, specifically in taking children from their families at birth and putting them into a facility where they are reared by "highly trained professionals", discouraging any moves by parents to get their children back. The movie follows his work and his own transformation into a child abductor - really, a secret worker to get children back to their families. That's probably all I should say, or I'll ruin it for you should you chance to get it sometime.

@Jordan: Yeah, it is pretty convenient for us since we live in San Antonio. I've enjoyed being there for three years now.

@Annalysa - Are you serious? It was great! The message of the film is fantastic, and the storyline takes several unexpected turns, making it very entertaining as well. It was a little bit scary, and a little bit funny, and it did have a lot of action. (If you've seen the trailer you know what I'm talking about.)

Sounds very interesting. What were some others that you watched and really liked? Also, was "Remember" your family favorite? Courtney said that's her favorite as well :)

Maybe (just maybe), I'll be able to convince my brother to take me to the Film Festival next year…he wanted to go this year (to busy though), but he said he'd maybe try for next year!! :)

@Matthew - yes I'm serious but I Really don't want to go to the theaters with everything going on in this world so I'm hoping to rent it from RedBox and watch it with my mom on a mother/daughter date. :) (which hopefully will be Saturday - I'm dying to see that movie!!!!!!!!!!)

Sorry Bethany, I was just now looking at this forum and remembered I hadn't answered you yet. We enjoyed the documentary The Drop Box (which by the way won the Best of Festival). It was about a pastor in Korea who takes in unwanted babies. It was really sad, but also encouraging. Indescribable was a feature that we liked. It was set in the United States during World War I, with the main character a young boy in a quiverfull family. Resistance Movement was a true story about three teens somewhere in Hitler's domain (I don't remember where) that decided to take a stand for what they believe in, even though what they did constituted treason. The Best Feature and Audience Choice winner Return to the Hiding Place, which Philip voted for, was also set in Europe during World War II and had a similar theme as Resistance Movement. My dad voted for The Baby War, a documentary about the history of birth control and how it relates to abortion, homosexuality, etc.

Absolutely:) I'm going even if I have to pay my own way:) I couldn't bear missing it this year, but seeing the closing ceremony made up for some of the pain:)

Wow, Matthew! It sounds like there were lots of great films there! I heard the most about The Drop Box because Amy told me about it after watching the Awards video.

Oh, and it's okay that it took you a while to respond, doesn't bother me :)

@Danielle: Remember was my favorite movie at the Film Festival. Look at the previous page where I gave a summary of it.

@Emily: Cool! Wasn't it awesome? More than anything, that movie really makes me want to pray and work my hardest to keep our country from becoming like that! You and I (and many of us on Memverse) will likely still be alive by the time 2050 rolls around. Kind of scary.

I think this forum has turned into a SAICFF forum! :)

I watched it a while ago. Someone told us what happened at the end so it ruined it for us. :) But it was funny. :D I dunno, I guess it was pretty good. Have you watched it?

@Emily: We did not see Behold a Pale Horse, although we heard a lot of good things about it. Many people thought it would win the Best of Festival. It was a finalist in the Documentary category.
