My brother is mentally disabled, so I thought other people that have disabled siblings can put useful tips and ideas on this forum. :)

Moriah has Down's Syndrome, which means she will probably not talk very well. So we're teaching her to sign using a series of videos called Signing Time. It's great for kids!

A communication ipad is a great tool for learning how to talk. My brother used to be completely mute.

Moriah turned 3 in April! She loves watching any signing Time or Baby Signing Time or Potty Time or Christmas Time or Rachel & the Treeschoolers!

I was just wondering… isn't Down syndrome a sort of problem with the kidneys and sometimes fatal??? I could be thinking about something else…

There are a bunch of pairs of chromosomes in your body, the 21st pair actually has 3 chromosomes in Down's syndrome. (I'm pretty sure anyway)

Sometimes it can be fatal, but not usually. People with Down's Syndrome do usually live shorter lives than typical people.
