I think I know everyone here's view on this already, but how strongly do you feel about homeschooling your own kids? What is the chance that you would NOT homeschool?

I don't have any kids either, but if by some freak chance I were to ever marry and have kids, I most certainly will homeschool them.

When (and if, I suppose) I have kids, I will most certainly homeschool them. I can't think of anything right now that will make me not homeschool them.

Edit: I thought of some things: If my husband dies and I have to work outside the home, I might have to. If the government outlaws homeschooling, I might have to, though I would rather move away.

Hate technology? I'm on my own laptop that I bought with my own money because I love technology. As to having no life, I wish my life would slow down once in a while, I see people all the time, and I can't seem to stay home. There is always people to meet, places to go, and things to do:)

When I have kids (if I have kids) I will probably homeschool them, but it will be up to my wife because I will probably be the one working.

I'm always so busy - it's hard to slow down sometimes!

No lives???? NO LIVES???????????????? I love school (for the most part) it's very fun. I especially like long division, it's really fun and I also LOVED the science experiment that blew water all over the kitchen!!!!! LOL
Grammar is another thing I look forward to every day. I love it!
Aren't public schoolers just a bunch of mean, lazy kids who hate work and have no lives? They have to sit around in school for 8 hours, then come home and do their homework for another 5 hours. That's my definition of "no life"!!!!!!!!!!
When we homeschool, we have pet praying mantises. I'm sure no public schooler has ever done that. I only have about 1 hour of school work, then I'm free to go outside, climb trees, ride my bike, play, run, jump, laugh, dance, and get all dirty! Public schoolers, if they have any time, they only have about an hour or so to do it! I know, because my neighbors are public schooled.
Anyway, yes, I would definitely homeschool! I love to teach Joseph and Elisabeth, and Elisabeth frequently asks me, "Can you be our teacher?" I'm so determined to homeschool my kids that I plan on getting a teacher's degree in college, so that if any new law comes up while I'm an adult that you have to be a teacher to homeschool your kids, I'll just show everybody my degree.
Hate technology? Boy, are you wrong about that! I can't wait till they come up with some way to read people's minds, (actually, they sort of have) and can't wait until they figure out how to make robots help us out around the house!
Okay, if this huge long comment won't show you that homeschooling isn't as bad as you think it is, nothing will!!!!!!!
By the way, Sam, aren't you homeschooled?

I guess I'll argue the unsocialized part. I've been to fourteen states, I have personal friends in many of those places. And I've been to two countries. I've been on a stage in front of 4,000+ people, and I've been on T.V. on the radio three times, and in our local newspaper countless times. I've had personal conversations with several of our states political leaders, and I even went to Congress woman Michele Bachmen's victory party. I've spent a month in Chicago at a ladies school, (Vessels of Honor) I watched Prince Williams wedding live, (What do we care about the king and queen we're Americans) Every summer and fall I see thousands of people come through our Corn maze, and I've taught Bible classes in two different states. Do I need to say any more? It's actually annoying going to town, because every one knows who I am, and I have no idea who they are.

whispers It's called "trolling", and the best thing to do is just ignore such comments… ;)

I'm just kidding:) but then I've never met him, and I have brothers… do I need to say more. Well I should say that my brothers are very neat in public, it's just that when you're out in a field, by yourself, neat isn't always at the top of your list.

Um, not that I don't agree with your zeal, you're generalizing all public schoolers. That's not fair on their part, and I'd say that of what you listed, public schoolers have done all of that. Um, I have several good friends who go to school, and none of them are mean, lazy, hate work, and have no lives. But then, when your parents come from Africa, you don't have time to develop such feelings because they are whipped out of you at an early age.

And, "robots that help around the house" are here. We're in the future. Haven't you heard of Roomba, the vacuum cleaner robot? And, anything you want a robot to do can be made by YOU, with all of the cheap options coming out. This is the age of the Maker, all you have to do is use your imagination, and go out there and MAKE!

Wow, looks like this became a hot topic!

As for me, I would 99% positively homeschool my kids. I think the only reason I would not was if I had to work outside of the home or something, or there was a REALLY good conservative Reformed Christian school. Which is doubtful.

Yeah, same with me, just showing you that homeschoolers are not what you said!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No i have not heard of Roomba I am not interested in Roomba I think he is probably silly and dumb and stupid.

I'm not talking to you anymore, unless somehow you fool me and make me think you're someone other than you really are, or somehow you force me to. Anyway, goodbye!!! This is my last comment to you.

I didn't read your whole post, but don't think you should group all public school-ers into this category. There are also some mean, lazy homeschoolers…it doesn't mean we're all that way. I agree with Sam. I have known people who are public schooled and they are far from mean lazy work-haters. Their lifestyles are definitely different, but they're not somehow "worse" because they are public schooled.

I agree, I know some very weird homeschoolers, and some very smart public school kids. Just because you're one or the other doesn't make you better than anybody else. What really matters, is weather or not we know God as our own personal Saviour.
