Hello!

Hey everybody! :)

I'm Grace, and I'm new on here. I opened an account quite a while ago but hadn't been very faithful to do much memorizing. Now I'm determined to keep myself memorizing scripture, and want to set out to memorize the whole Bible, over however many years that takes.

I'm college age, know that God is calling me to full-time ministry as a missionary (though I do not know in what country or it it is the USA yet), come from a large homeschooling family of 15 & love my siblings to death, work as a teacher, and am completely sold out to God. :)

I have a couple questions and am not sure where else to ask them, so I hope you guys can help me out! :) I'm trying to figure out all the groups and forums and such, I think if I'm in a group or have friends to help keep me accountable I'll do much better. But how do I join a group? I found a place to type in what group you want to join in my profile, but how do I even know what groups there are? And what is the Bible Bee thing? Is that a specific church or can anyone be in it & how does it work?

Oh, one more question - why is my profile picture an angry purple face? Does that have to do with the fact that I haven't been on here reviewing verses?

Welcome to Memverse, Grace!!! I'm new to the forums, too…I think they just approved a whole bunch of people. :) That's awesome that you're going to be a missionary! And wow…fifteen siblings! That must be fun!!

I don't know much about Memverse either but I can tell you what I know… :D Bible Bee is a Bible memory competition in the USA, and I think a lot of the contestants use Memverse. As far as I can see, the easiest way to see what groups there are is by going to Leaderboards -> Group Leaderboards.

As for your angry purple face, they just give random faces to people, and you can change it if you want. :D Haha!!! Actually, it WOULD be funny if they changed faces according to how consistent people are. It might encourage some people to memorize more… XD

BTW, you can ask questions and report problems by clicking on that little black rectangle on the side that says "Feedback"!

That is so neat that you have 15 people in your family – I have 8 people in my family and love having so many people around our house all the time!

That is a great goal to memorize the whole Bible – I have the same goal! There is a post under the "Memorization" group (under the Introduce Yourself) that talks about memorizing the whole Bible.

Anyways, welcome! Great to have you join with us :) BTW, my name is Bethany, which you can call me, but I'm not on here very often. I just stop in every once in a while to see how everyone is doing :D

Oh, to answer your questions:

To see what groups there are you go to the tab leaderboard. hover your mouse over that and then click group leaderboard. Then you can see what groups there are.

You can change your angry purple face by signing up for an account at gravatar (gravatar.com) And then just change the pic.
