Jordan Strang

Hello Everyone!
I've been on here for a while now, but I think it's about time I tell you exactly who I am! ;)
First off and most importantly, I'm a child of God. That's my identity. Ever since I was saved several years ago, God has done some things to me showing me just how sinful my sin is. His love for saving someone like me is incredible as I'm am noting but a sinner.
So, you want to know about me??? Well, as you do know, my name is Jordan Strang. I'm 17 years-old and intent on glorifying God with my every action, and thought. I live near Portland, Oregon with my family. There's seven kids so things often do get quite hilarious and crazy!
I'm a total people's person and an extrovert so I love being with friends and meeting new ones. (Which, BTW, was the primary reason I became a Memverser!) I competed in the Bible Bee for the first time in 2012 and placed 19th in the nation at the national competition. (That was a big surprise for me!) I am going to be competing again during the 2013 season which is sort of bittersweet because it's my last year.
Other then Bible Bee, I enjoy music, dance, singing, running, volleyball, basketball etc… I am also REALLY into traveling! I think it's alway awesome to go somewhere you never been before, or go someplace to see people you know!
My primary interest is music.. I've been playing the piano for 12 years now and I want to glorify God with a career in it someday… (I'm not sure what he wants for me, but I am confident we will bring it to pass.)
Okay, so if there's anything you're wondering about me, (or if you want to spy on me!!!) the best place to look would be my blog: www.jordanstrang.blogspot.com
I must add that is has been wonderful getting to know many of you better through Memverse, as well as meeting many new friends that I hope to meet in person sometime!
And if you're wondering why i don't have any verses memorized on here, it's because I do most of my online memory work on Scripture Typer!!! Nothing against Memverse, of course, but I'm still not quite sure haw everything works!!!
God bless you all!
Romans 12:1-2
Madi
He forgot to mention that I'm older. :P That's very important. :P
admin
"And an interesting fact about myself… I love to use exclamation points! Hey, not just one!!! As many as I can type!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
You forgot to mention that part. :P
admin
Alright:
Madi is older then Jordan, but he really doesn't care because he got a higher score on his IQ test then she did on hers.
How's that???
Okay, I'm just kidding!
admin
Hey bet, what wrong with exclamation points? At least I don't write them upside down. (That's what you do in Belize!)
admin
Ahem. "Bet" is to be capitalized.
"Capitol, capitol!"
admin
You mean Capital? there is a fundamental difference between the two.
FTR: bet, bet, bet ,bet , bet , bet
admin
There is also a fundamental difference between "Bet" and "bet". As a Christian, you shouldn't be betting!
Madi
lol…I forgot about our truce too. :P Sorry. :P
Har har. Probably true though…seeing as how you love math. ;)
I know how you feel Bethany. I hate it when people don't capitalize my name!! Such disrespect to their elders. :P JK
admin
actually I'm not a huge fan of math. I mean, it's okay and everything, but I would way rather play the piano!
But hey, you were smart enough to be born 17 days earlier then me! Haha! It doesn't bother me that you're older! Plenty of people already are, so one more doesn't hurt! But then, if that's the case, I guess there's plenty of people who are older then you! So I think we're pretty much even!
@Bethany: I didn't actually write your name. So don't accuse me of not CAPITALIZING it. I wrote your nick-name! ;) J/K
His Servant
I'd definitely play piano before doing math as well :)
Madi
Well, you may not like it, but I bet you can do it.
Very true! There are lots of people older. There's just something about being barely older that always gets to me. :P
admin
Well, I guess I can do math… in fact, my mom won't let me stop doing it!
Haha! I've got some other friends that are just a few months older then me or something like that… I try not to think about it! J/K
Madi
Oh, so you care that they're older than you. :P
admin
Nah!!! Not at all! Half the time, I'm more mature then they are! Half the time, mind you! ;)
EDIT: It's like that old song: "But I don't let it, let it get me down!"
J/K;)
Madi
lol…right…. :P
admin
Yes, and being that I am the oldest person on this thread currently, I have a right to having both my nickname and real name capitalized.
Math? Hey, I'm here to talk about it. :) CLEPed the test and never have to do another math problem in my life!
Life's good!
admin
There you go using multiple exclamation points again. I was so right. I always am.
Hiruko Kagetane
Wait, have you done Calculus? 'Cuz I'm gonna do College Math, and I'm in Algebra 2. Isn't it only, like, your first year of Math?
Madi
Wait, Bethany…do you cook? You do math all the time when you cook. :P
admin
Well, on the College Mathematics CLEP test there was a bit of Calculus. In order to pass the test, I did have to learn how to do those problems. ;) I did Pre Algebra, Algebra 1 and 2, as well as Geometry and studied for the test… Are you planning on CLEPing it?
admin
No, Madi… that's not a Math Problem. ;) I guess my definition of math would be everything that you don't use in regular life! :P
Margaret Eddy
I thought math was preparation for regular life…
admin
Haha! I read your thing about multiple exclamation points as Multiplication!
admin
I think it kind of is… But I'm still trying to figure out how calculus and sinusoidal functions are supposed to help me… I mean, I'm not going to the moon, and I'm not going to construct pendulums for a living!
But, higher mathematics are always good for logic training (helps me take tests.) and FTR, calculus has helped me solve those ridiculous tile puzzles. (the ones where you move the tiles around the board with one open space.)
I'm hoping that with all this math, maybe one day I'll be able to actually solve rubik's cubes! J/K
His Servant
You don't need math do a rubik's cube! Just look it up on the internet :) I've heard (or read somewhere) that once you know how to do one, you know how to do them all…now, just so that I can figure out how to do the first one… :)
admin
You know, it's funny, I did that just before I wrote that comment…. now if I only had a Rubiks cube I could actually solve it!
Ruth Smith
Jordan, does it seem strange to you that none of your bio surprised me? I guess I know you too well:)
And, FTR I agree with J.D. when he said that too much frivilous talking back and fourth, (especially about age;) is a sign of immaturity:) I hope you know what I mean:)
BTW if age comes up again, 1 Peter 5:1-5 might be helpful:)
Oh, and yes I agree with you that math will be useful in your future, whether you can solve Rubik's cubes or not;)
SavedByGrace
They must be pretty immature, then… they filled up an entire page in just nine hours! JK, JK!!
Madi
Thanks Elanee…I'll try to remember that. :)
(I like the first part of the last verse best. :P jk I actually like the last part of the last verse best, even though I'm not very good at it yet. :)
admin
@Nicholas; (Or however you spell your name.) Takes one to know one!
Ruth Smith
I shall try to overlook this, just this once;)
admin
Alright… that's fine! Especially since I saw the email that just came into the inbox! I mean… it's a KC film!
admin
Did I talk too much about my age? My apologies if I did.
Actually I usually keep quiet about how old I really am… it keeps me safe that way. ;)
admin
I didn't even say how old I was in my introduction post!
http://www.memverse.com/forums/forums/introduce-yourself/topics/formal-introduction
Ruth Smith
Sorry, I guess I was a little too forthright in my opinions about this whole thing. Truth be told I was really just feeling left out!!!
I had no problem with the KC quote. In fact it actually was very appropriate:)
Anyhow, thanks for your graciousness with the whole thing:)
admin
Oh I was just kidding… I think we might have misunderstood each other… I'll explain it to you sometime…!
admin
Wow! Beginning of another crazy and busy week!
But hey, I had a great Skype call with a BB friend this afternoon! We went for an hour and fifteen minutes! And we only stopped because he had to eat dinner!
Ruth Smith
IKR this week is super busy for us too:) but hey, at least we get to see you all at the beginning and end of it:)
I'm so glad you got to talk with him, I know you were an encouragement to him, and I'm sure you will continue to encourage him throughout the BB season:)
admin
Whooo hooo! Argyles are going big!
Ruth Smith
Totally, we should do a argyle flash mob of TWINMH at the Christian Heritage Conference.
admin
YEEEEEEEEEESSSSS! I am so going to do that. :D
admin
Awesome idea! I say we should go for it!!!
Ruth Smith
Just give us the signal, and we will be ready to sing:)
His Servant
Isn't it fun talking with BB friends, Jordan? :) I talk with some every so often, and my longest call was probably close to 2 hours — SO MUCH FUN! :P
Skype is a great resource!
admin
TTLY! We talked about everything from BB to music to the difference between top loading and front loading washing machines! Weird, I know!
His Servant
No! The weird topics are the best! :) We talk about all sorts of things…just as weird as that :)
admin
Haha! Well, have you talked about anything weirder then doing loops in an airplane and the way you start to feel sleepy on the way around it?!?!
Dani(elle)
WHAT?????????!!!!!! Lol jk. :)
admin
uhhu!
