No way!! I am not feeling ready…yet! :P I hope I feel ready…but IDK if I will. These verses are hard!!
Emily H
xD I don't know if I'll ever feel ready either. I mean, I never do really, but at least for locals I usually feel prepared at least. :P They are!! I don't know if I'll get too many of the longer ones down well. :-/
2 Corinthians 5:17
Yeah…for locals you can pretty much feel ready but Nationals, I'm learning, is a totally different story :P I know…sadness lol ;-) I'm going to focus on getting the short ones down really good, and then if time allows the large ones too. 8 weeks is toooo short!
God's Maiden of Virtue
8 weeks is toooo short!
No kidding! tries not to die of exhaustion :P
2 Corinthians 5:17
8 weeks is toooo short! No kidding! *tries not to die of exhaustion* :P
Same here!! lol
Emily H
Haha, yeah… xP Lol! That's probably a good idea…they don't really ask super long passages in prelims because of the time limit…I'd be shocked if they gave us a 5 or 4 card passage, even 3 probably… I knoooow it!!! I'm so missing the extra couple weeks ^and the not-so-far drive ;P^!!!
2 Corinthians 5:17
I'm going to try to have all my cards that are 12 verses or shorter perfected, and then if I have time work on the longer ones :) I know…if it was still in TN it would have been only 3 hours for us…now it's 10! :P How many verses do you have left? How is Nahum coming along?
Emily H
Okay!! =D The only long ones I have close to perfect are the ones from 1 and 2 Peter, 1 John, Acts 10:34-43, and the first long passage I memorized, Ezekiel 19:1-14. :P Wow! That's quite a difference! Are you going to take two days out? I finished them on the 25th, but the ones I just did recently need a lot of work still. :P Focusing more on Nahum now and it's super interesting! But I haven't got that far in the last couple days. How are verses and studying going for you??
2 Corinthians 5:17
Okay :) The only long ones I have perfect I believe are 1 Peter 1:3-12, Acts 10:34-43, 1 John 2:18-29, annd…almost Psalm 51:1-17, I think that's all. :P We're not sure yet, we might :)
Congrats on "finishing"!! :D
Emily H
Okay! That's great! =D I still have trouble with the 2 verses in Acts 10:34-43 that I didn't already have memorized. xP And I keep messing up little things on Psalm 51:1-17! Okay =D We're taking five or six days out. xP
xD
2 Corinthians 5:17
Yeah…I keep getting "transgressions" and "sins" and "inquities" mixed up :P What did you get done study wise today? :)
Emily H
Me too!! xP I told my mom it made it sound pretty and interesting to use all those different words but it sure is HARD to remember which one goes where!!! xP Two "days" in Nahum, read some commentary, did a bunch of context on verses, and played piano! :P You?
Emily H
And if you're still here, I need to go now. Bye! Happy studying! =D
2 Corinthians 5:17
Yay! sounds like your day was productive :) I memorized 20 verses and did a little but of Nahum study :P
Okay, bye! me too :) Happy Studying! :D
Emily H
Great job!! =D How are you liking Nahum? It's an interesting little book!
=D
2 Corinthians 5:17
It is interesting, but kind of scary too :P I find it kind of hard to study, but am enjoying it :) Have you learned something to apply to your life? XD
Emily H
Oh my, sorry I never wrote back to you! Haha, yeah, I know what you mean… It is hard to study…I wonder what kind of questions they'll have on the test. 0.o :P Yes!! Well, like, I knew it already, but now in a different more exciting and apply-able way. From Jonah I was so struck with all the cross references we looked up for "sacrifice" and about how modern day believers offer sacrifices with how they live their lives. Also how God listened to Jonah's prayer even after Jonah had rebelled and ran and was suffering the consequences. It was amazing to see how God even used Jonah's disobedience to teach Jonah something, and show the sailors His power. Nahum has been a great reminder of God's wrath. I know a lot of times we just want to think about God's mercy and forgiveness, but in Jonah and Nahum you kind of get a glimpse of how love and justice can coexist. So overall I've SO enjoyed the study this year. =) What about you? What's something you've learned over the summer and fall? =D

What kinds of crafts do you do?

Esther Grace
None. :( :( And I have no idea if I'll be able to volunteer at Nationals. We'll have to see next year.
How many years do "you" have left?
Edited: that was supposed to make the you italic. Apparently it didn't… :P

God's Maiden of Virtue
xD I think I might just only use BB pictures until next year…too much sentimental value to lay them aside and use others. xD
2 Corinthians 5:17
IKR? lol xD
BTW…would you like to snail mail occasionally? :)
God's Maiden of Virtue
Snail mail…letter writing? Sorry, I probably should know.
2 Corinthians 5:17

God's Maiden of Virtue
Sure, I would love to, Rachel! I cannot guarantee quick replies, but I can guarantee a reply. xD
Here's my address (I'll delete it after you've seen it/gotten it written down):

Okay, I have it =)
Yes, I understand…I probably won't respond or write the quickest either…I'm super busy as the oldest daughter! ;-) I just thought it would be nice to keep in touch that way =]
God's Maiden of Virtue

Ditto. ;) Night! hugs
2 Corinthians 5:17
I have several letters that I need to respond to before I get to yours (like, ones that have been needing a response for several months ;) ) so if you don't hear from me for a couple of weeks please understand! ;-)
Good night! hug
His Servant

I'd love to see some of the pictures you got!! Haha. xP Oh yeah, I'm way more likely to talk to people at nats, because I really, really want to meet them, and I only have a very short opportunity to do it, so I can't waste any time being shy. :P I hope this doesn't sound weird, but I always imagined you as having a really soft voice. xP
I got your letter today! Hoping to reply some time soon =) ~and that goes for everyone else on here to whom I owe letters.~
2 Corinthians 5:17
Haha…you did?! I don't think I have a loud voice, but was it? lol
Oh goody! :D I look forward to your reply. :)
Emily H
xP No, you didn't exactly have a loud voice, just not super soft. =P It is pretty funny hearing people talking for the first time when you've known them for years! xP
=D
2 Corinthians 5:17
Hehe…I know, right? :D You sounded about what I thought…I think xD xD
Emily H
xD Haha! I always think my voice sounds squeaky. xP
