Hello, everyone! My name is Nicolas Alexander. I am thirteen years old (almost fourteen!) and live with a family of ten–a dad, a mom, me, six brothers, and one sister. Three of my brothers, my sister, and my parents also use Memverse.
I go to Heritage Reformed Baptist Church, I have participated in the National Bible Bee every year since it started, and I love to memorize God's Word!! I am not sure exactly when I became a Christian, but I know now that I have repented of my numerous sins against God and trusted in His Son, Jesus Christ's, sacrifice to pay for those sins on the cross. I believe that He rose from the dead and that He will one day reign as King over all forever in a new heaven and a new earth.
I chose my Memverse username for obvious reasons, mainly to show that I fully acknowledge that I have been saved by God's grace alone, apart from anything that I have done or could ever do. I hope to memorize the entire Bible one day, and I hope that many others will join me!
I live in the great state of Ohio, the "Buckeye State," and I sometimes show my pride for that state (though not nearly as much as my dad, Wretched Man!) I hope that I will one day become a mechanic, helping people with their broken cars, and hopefully also helping them with their broken souls!
What about you all? Please use this forum, "Introduce Yourself," to tell us about you!
Wretched Man
Hey! Why didn't you just introduce yourself under WretchedMan's post? :P
Jonathan Peterson
Well glad to know you are well rounded in the word of God. Keep up the faith, and continuing in the path that He has chosen for you.
Hiruko Kagetane
Well, even though I won't go as far as SavedByGrace, I will inroduce myself.
puts on Darth Vader voice changer Okay. I am Dr. What, but due my my tendency to switch names, you can call me Sparky. I am 14 years old, and have 1 sibling, a sister, who shall remain anonymous.
I also go to Heritage Reformed Baptist Church, and have been a Christian since I was young, and rededicated my life to Christ at 13. I believe that I could not be saved except by the mercies of God and His grace in choosing me as one of His elect to serve and bring glory to Him. I also believe that Jesus His son died on the cross to take my sins, and that he rose again on the third day and will come back to earth one day to reign!
I have many hobbies, some of which are:
*Reading
*Programming my Arduino board
*Building electrical circuits
*Playing computer games
*Playing Wii games
*Listening to Adventures in Odyssey
I also live in Ohio, and hope to become a computer or robotic engineer one day!
-Dr. What
SavedByGrace
Sparky, I understand why you would want to be a robotic engineer, but why would you want to be a computer??? :P jk
Hiruko Kagetane
If I'm a computer I can use Wi-Fi and satellites to hack into all computers and force them to have lego pictures as their desktop pics! MWA-HA-HA-HA-HA!!!
SavedByGrace
Hey, congrats for joining the Bible Bee! I'm sure you'll enjoy it! And hey, I wouldn't be too annoyed with a Lego picture for my desktop… :)
Hiruko Kagetane
Hmm, remind me to hack into your computer first then…..
Wretched Man
Yep, I think that settles it.
Sparky, the Depraved Teen, has my bet that he will be the one who officially gets most of us HRBC'ers kicked off of MemVerse!
Hiruko Kagetane
Are you sure it's gonna be me? ChiefOfSinners has my vote, after all, who got their topic locked because of too much debate? And he has the most topics in the Theology Discussions( which is cool, but hey, there are a lot of opposing viewpoins there too!)!
Octavius
I think that in the final analysis, Mr. Wretched Man will be the one.
He's the oldest among us, but he's the ring-leader. He should have more maturity than he seems to possess from his various comments.
Hiruko Kagetane
Hmm, too true, too true.
Wretched Man
What's "maturity"?
@BelovedWretchedWoman keeps using that word a lot around me, too, and I keep trying to act like I know what she means, but now you're saying it, too (well, along with my pastor, boss at work, my childhood teachers, that lady at the grocery store last week, the movie theater attendant, Sparkly the Deranged Algebraic Giraffe, Mr. Walker , countless other MemVersers, etc., etc.)
So, what is it? It sounds like it's something about my giving to the poor and doing nice things for the homeless.
Am I close yet?
Hiruko Kagetane
Hey, Sparkly the Deranged Algebraic Evil Furious Sword-Wielding Giraffe didn't use the word mature! But I have to say I feel your pain: all the time when our "youth group" gathers at church, I am always being told "Act mature.", whatever that means! And don't I already act "mature" if maturity is a measure of age?
BibleBeeJunior14 (~*Lady Ariana*~)
Hey sparky - are you on the Odyssey Scoop?
BibleBeeJunior14 (~*Lady Ariana*~)
LOL
Hiruko Kagetane
No, I am not the evil giraffe you seek! But who knows, maybe on day I'll find my way over there……..if I don't scare everyone off……..
Octavius
Who in the "youth group" tells you to act mature (unless it's your own conscience)?
Maturity = the process in which all men (and women) progress in differing degrees and at differing speeds of procedure, which process is commonly perceived by outward variables, namely, other persons with which we are intimate enough for them to have formed a reasonably good judgment of our general course of action; this process, explained in part above, is the growth of any person: man, woman, boy, or girl, not only in progression of age (in which case it could be said that all people mature), but also and more primarily in progression of good behavior, being defined as politeness to strangers as well as friends, general good conduct even when alone, control of that great and destructive genuflective instrument, the tongue, and etc.; this said process is greatly helped and advanced with the aid of memorization of Scripture (an invaluable means of furthering maturity), with the aid of godly and influential friends (another highly prized means to increase the process and degree of maturity), and with the aid of prayer to our Heavenly Father by the person seeking said and oft-mentioned increase in maturity; which here-above described process is collectively and commonly known and addressed under the short but pregnant word - vis. - Maturity.
Did that help you guys any?
SavedByGrace
Uh… yeah. :P Did you come up with that definition yourself??
Hiruko Kagetane
Dude, you and COS sometimes go "You're the opposite of how we should act" or something along those lines. Translation: We're mature, you aren't. I can live with that though. And about your definition……….wow……………..how long did it take you to come up with all that and type it?
Octavius
To my knowledge, I've only done that once, MAYBE twice.
Yes, I did come up with that myself, and it didn't take all that long. It isn't really much except for a whole lot of unnecessary clauses.
Hiruko Kagetane
So are you saying that that whole long answer was unnecessary?
His Servant
Congratulations, Nicolas, for memorizing your 1000th verse on Memverse! Great job, and keep it up!
It's always inspiring to see people memorize God's Word!
Emily H
Congratulations on memorizing your 1,000th verse!!! How exciting! :)
To God be the Glory!

I guess we have a lot of the same hobbies. I enjoy reading, playing computer games, wii games, and listening to AIO too.
Matthew Minica
I think I know who you are as well. Just let me say that you took a picture with my sister last year at Nationals. :) I love volleyball too! That is by far my favorite sport.
SoulWinner
I can't decide between basketball or football as my favorite sport.Funny how everyone just seems to know each other. :D
Everett C.
@SoulWinner- I love basketball and football too.
SoulWinner
90 minutes of hitting a small ball back and forth across a grass field and not scoring. Apparently, some people think its fun. :D jk But really, how do you stand it? :o
His Servant II (Bethany)
@Nicolas - I'm going to be doing some "organization" on my Memverse accounts, and so the "Entire Bible" group might fall to place 15. I hope you understand. Hopefully, before Bible Bee starts back up again though, we will be be back to where are…or higher!!
EDIT: Scratch that – God's Bondslave joined the "Entire Bible" group and now we're at #4!!!! :)
SavedByGrace
I was about to say not to worry about it, since I myself will soon have to delete some of my NIV verses when I rememorize them in ESV–until I saw the edit of your comment!! :D
His Servant II (Bethany)
I'm thinking about just deleting them all and starting over as well. I seriously do not know that many of them the best (since I hardly did anything on this account during Bible Bee), and I only ever get to review them 2 times a year on Memverse! Thinking through it all, I've decided that is the best thing to do, though very sad at the same time…
sniffles Anyhow, how is going for you…switching from NIV to ESV?
SavedByGrace
Um… well, it's not going at all yet. :P I'm still reading my NIV Bible, and I haven't memorized a verse in ESV. :} I am planning on getting an ESV Study Bible before the next Bible Bee, but I'm not quite sure how or when I'm going to do that. :)
His Servant
Hey! Congrats on memorizing your 1400th verse! Isn't it fun to memorize a lot in one sitting? :)
SavedByGrace
Definitely. :) I had been stuck at about 1360 for weeks! :)
biblebee
Congratulations SBG on memorizing your 1400 verse! Now I will have to pass you on the leader board AGAIN :D
His Servant
Congrats on getting the silver consistency badge! How exciting! I can't wait till I can get the bronze one…though, I have a feeling that might be a while still.
SavedByGrace
Thanks–I've worked pretty hard to get that badge. :) And congratulations to you, too, for memorizing your 900th verse! (On your second account, that is.) :)
His Servant
Thank you!
BTW, we got your family letter today - enjoyed looking through it, and seeing all the pictures and reading the news! Really enjoyed getting it :) So, thanks!
SavedByGrace
Oh, don't thank me–thank Wretched Man! He wrote the whole thing himself. :)
His Servant
Well, then, tell him "thank you" I thought he wrote it, it sounded like something he would write :)
BTW, I invited you to a Quizlet group I made…did you see that? It's for the Bible outlines that I'm making…
SavedByGrace
Yes, Christian told me about that group. I'll likely join pretty soon! :)
His Servant
Are y'all hosting this summer for Bible Bee???
SavedByGrace
Something like that; we just got a package today in the mail with materials for hosting. :)
His Servant
Fun :D I'll have to ask Rosie in my letters how that goes!
Dani(elle)
Wait, your hosting a biblebee at your church?!
SavedByGrace
Sorry, it's not at our church, but at Royal Redeemer Lutheran Church–same place as last year. :)
2 Corinthians 5:17
Maybe you should update your topic! I think your 14 now, right? :)
SavedByGrace
Yep–and turning 15 next month! :D But, as it does say "12 months ago" above my comment, I think most people will understand that that isn't how old I am anymore… :P
Dani(elle)
What day is ur birthday again?? Oh wait never mind I'll just check the 'Happy Birthday' form. :)
