Ohhh… I kinda totally forgot about that…
I've been on 1:16 since before the National Bible Bee, and I haven't even thought about it since then… However, I'm sure I'll memorize it all eventually, since I'm planning on memorizing the whole of the Bible. :)

I've learned chapters 1-3, my longest chunk so far (by far!):-). I know a few verses in the last two chapters, but I'm having a little break before I continue.

There's been lots of food for thought so far - I definitely feel like I know the book a lot better, and chapters 2/3 have made me consider submission in a new way. Challenging stuff!

I have 1 Peter 1-3 and 5 done, although 2 & 3 are quite a bit rusty. Hopefully that will get done not too far into when Bible Bee starts!

God's Maiden of Virtue

I haven't really thought much about memorizing 1 Peter, but I think I might (remember I said might) start at the beginning of the next school year. I need to finish other memorization projects first.

Well done on declaring chapter 2 Rachel!

And thanks for starting this forum. You've inspired me to get going on chapter 4 and reminded me to make some more declarations.

Have you got a favourite verse in chapter 3 yet? (or anyone else?) I think mine is verse 18:-)

Excellent!
I'm just finishing chapter 4 now - I'm working on the last 3 verses:-)
Have you got a favourite verse for ch 4?

WELL DONE!

That's fantastic:-) and you met your target!
I think I'll keep going at my slower pace - that's a bit too fast for me!!

I'm still not sure of my fav verse in ch 4. The first verse I learned in the chapter was v8 - I thought that was a good one to know really well. But I really like v11 too - it reminds me to depend on God's strength to do his will. And, like you, I think v1 is great.

Have you got a fav in ch 5?

Hiya,
I just started chapter 5 a couple of days ago:-) I like to be sure I'm secure with the last chapter before I move on (I've been learning each chapter in chunks, so I want to be sure I've got the chunks in the right order!), so I had a bit of a gap whilst I consolidated!! On the homeward stretch now though!

Have you moved on to another book or are you a Bible Bee-er?

2 Corinthians 5:17

I'm happy to be a Bible Bee-er :D I'm trying to do Matt. 5-7, (around vs. 20 something) but am more focused on Bible bee verses. and you?

I live in the UK (it shows in my spelling of memorise!) and as far as I'm aware, we don't have Bible Bee here. We don't have spelling bees either:-) Plus I'm too old at the ripe old age of 34!

I'm thinking of moving onto the Sermon on the Mount after 1 Peter too. The badge will keep me motivated, but I'd also been thinking I haven't learned enough gospel verses in comparison to epistle verses, so it's perfect. Plus I'd memorised a few verses in Matt 6 already, so it would be good to put those in context.

I finished!
…at last!!

It's been a wonderful experience. I hadn't realised quite how much I would get out of memorising larger chunks. I started learning verses to be able to quote God's word in conversation, for my own edification, and to better know the references for looking them up, but learning chapters really helps you to meditate on what you're learning, so I think it's even better than 'normal' Bible study for challenging us. I'm hooked now! (though still going slowly!)

Thanks for your encouragement:-)

Yep…I'm the same way. I'm rusty on some parts but if i reviewed it just a tad bit I would be able to quote it fine again :)

Me? Of entire books, just 1 Peter, but I REALLY need to review it. :) I'd like to eventually memorize each of the books I have studied for BB. :) You?
