Occasionally I'll read something in these forums talking about group leaders and group descriptions. I've searched as best that I know how, but haven't been able to find descriptions of these groups.

A couple of questions:

1) Is there a page where we can view the different groups that have been started?

2) Where do I find the descriptions that talk about these groups and what their specific challenges and/or goals are?

Thanks.

p.s. Love the website btw.

Wow! I just found this topic, which caused me to look at my own group, Entire Bible (which I actually haven't yet told anyone about :D), and I saw that you were on it! Thank you! I'm so glad to see someone else join me, like so many others did months ago when I first brought up this possibly somewhat crazy idea! But now that we're talking about it… does anyone else want to join this group who doesn't already belong to another group? I would be so glad to get this group on the Leaderboard!

P.S. I'll write a description for that group as soon as possible. I hadn't written one yet since I was the only member, but I will now.

P.P.S. As for your two questions, the page where you can see the groups that have been started is found by hovering over "Leaderboards" at the top of the screen, then going to "Group Leaderboard." To see the groups' descriptions and members, click on the name of the group.

I would like to see it on the Leaderboard as well. This is the third time I've taken up scripture memorization, but recent events in my life have caused a renewed dedication to it. I use index cards for routine practice, moving them into every other day, and just recently weekly, review.

I'm a little over three hundred scriptures memorized in my index cards. I've been shifting them to memverse four or five cards a day. So, it will take a while for memverse to reflect my 'real' count, if ever. Since I take my cards with me almost everywhere, I hope to move up rather quickly.

My current trend will have the new testament memorized in four to five years, depending on how many old testament versed get thrown into the mix.

Keep up the good work. I can't wait till the day that I have 1000+ scriptures memorized as well.

Hey guys, I was just wondering is there a place where we can see all the groups that are started besides just the ones that have 3 members?

I like the idea about memorizing the whole Bible, and for sure I am working on it, and if I don't finish it in this world I will in the next.

It would be nice if they could create a page or link where we could see all the groups that have been started.

Maybe they could do something similar to the "Tag Cloud".

How long did it take you to memorize the book of John? I've started incorporating them into my verses to learn. I'm thinking it might take a about a year. I've been too lazy to figure out the math.

I just discovered something Jacen,

That if you go to your profile and to the place that say's "group" if you put in a letter from the alphabet, it will give you a drop down list of all the groups that start with that letter.

I went thru the whole alphabet to check out all the group names starting with A etc.

That's how I discovered the "Entire Bible" Group. And I'm glad I did. It has been something that I've wanted to do for awhile.

It's taken some trial and error to nail down my memorization strategy, but I think I've finally found something that will work for me, and help me whittle away at that goal.

I'm keeping track of my progress in a log which started before I discovered Memverse. I was looking at it today and I haven't missed a day of practice since early August. I have a couple of weekends where I haven't added verses, but I think that's okay once in awhile.

@SBG

I wanted to let you know that I am changing groups to the new testament in 5 years. because although I would love to have the whole Bible memorized, there is no way I can achieve that presently in this lifetime being older in all.

Having a smaller realistic goal inspires me to keep going because I can see the end of the tunnel, even though the New Testament is far from complete, but to me, its doable.

I pray that you guys can accomplish your mission and goal and I wish you all success!

@john project

We regret seeing you go. But I understand your desires. While I do want to memorize the whole bible, I also have set smaller goals to keep me progressing in that direction.

My plan is to memorize the gospels, then the epistles, then Acts and Revelation. There are also several OT chapters that are on my wish list of chapters to memorize that will make their way into my memorization process.

I know that I mentioned this already, but you have my respect and admiration for already memorizing the book of John. I know you mentioned something about being older, I'm now 37 and looking to at least memorize the NT. If the grace of God allows, I plan to keep going until I do have the whole Bible memorized.

Good Luck, and we'll see you around. (At least on Memverse anyway.)
