The 2014 Bible Challenge

The 2014 Bible Challenge is a two part schedule I created for anyone who is up for a challenge. The schedule lasts from January 1st to May 31st. Part 1, the New Testament Reading Challenge, is a plan to read through the entire New Testament. Part 2 is a plan for memorizing the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5 - 7). For Memverse users, Part 2 works also as an incentive for earning the Sermon on the Mount badge.

It's totally fine if you get done way ahead of schedule, or don't finish at all. This isn't a competition - just a friendly challenge and motivator. :)

Just so you know, it's possible I won't memorize the Sermon on the Mount. But I might… I do want that badge!

Actually, I'm thinking about only memorizing the Sermon on the Mount (which I definitely will do now!)
The reading challenge seems like soooooo much! So, for now please mark me as the Sermon on the Mount only.

I was going to do the sermon on the mount anyways… And I just started reading the NT jus before BB started, and stopped because I was reading 1 John and Ephesians every day…

Oh dear sorry to trouble you AGAIN, but I think I want to do both now. :P I made a good schedule for the memorizing, (which will make me be done memorizing WAY before May 31, is that okay) and At first the reading challenge seemed like so much because I would want to do other things, but reading the Bible is more important than chatting on the forums or playing with my neighbors! So, at one or two chapters a day, I think I'll do both.
I also have a question: If I do the reading challenge according to your schedule (which I think I will do) which day has the most chapters (and then verses) to read?

Hey, that's awesome! The schedule I made is just a suggestion. Any way that will help you is great. You also asked which day has the most chapters/verses - I'm not totally sure… I could probably find out if you really want me to. Otherwise, I guess you'll know when you get there! :D

@All - on Sunday, "Michael," who signed himself and his wife up for both challenges, told me about a CD with the entire Sermon on the Mount put to music! If he sends me the info about it, I could post it on here if anyone's interested.

Thanks Rachel! That's a great schedule. If I hadn't already made one up, I just might use that. :) I'll have to keep it in mind for next year, though, if I do this again.
