great treasures

I have just barely started on this site… has anybody heard of (or does anybody use) greattreasures.org? It's not really a Bible memorization site, but more of a Bible study site. Unfortunately it does not offer the New King James Version as far as I could see, but it does offer the other three Bible Bee versions.
2 Corinthians 5:17
I was just going to ask that! :) I haven't really looked much at it, but It looks interesting!
Matthew Minica
Oh cool! I just added you as a friend. I hope to get some more before long! :)
2 Corinthians 5:17
How?
Matthew Minica
At the top left there is a "share" link from where you can add friends if you know their email address. I just found it at just about the same moment I found out you were a member. :) You ought to see me on the list.
2 Corinthians 5:17
Oh, okay! Yes, I see your name!
Matthew Minica
Sooo, does anyone else use Great Treasures?
2 Corinthians 5:17
I'm still trying to figure out the website. :)
Dance4Him
Yes, I use it.
His Servant II (Bethany)
Is "being a friend" on there, the same thing as letting them see your notes? I'm confused.
Thanks for your help.
Matthew Minica
Yeah, I guess so, although you can choose to not let certain friends see your notes. I'm not sure what being a "friend" would mean then, but I think the developers of the site still have some things they want to add, possibly including more "friend" features.
Matthew Minica
I'm working on polishing up a paraphrase of 1 Peter I did a couple years ago as supplementary study for Bible Bee 2011. One neat thing about Great Treasures is that you can input your own translation! I'm finished with inputting chapter 1 currently.
His Servant
Matthew, you told Rachel you added her as a friend. How do you do that so that I can? :) I still don't understand.
EDIT – Now I'm even more confused – when I go to add notes under 1 John, all the places I would do it in, are filled up with your notes, Matthew! Where am I supposed to put mine?!
Matthew Minica
Look at the bar at the top on the main page of the Great Treasures website. The third link up there is the "share" link. Click on that and a window will pop up. You should see your list of existing friends (I should be on there) and a link to add more friends at the bottom. Click on that, type in your new friends' email addresses, and click OK. You should see your new friends added to the list.
@EDIT: Really? That's strange. Well, in that case, could you go to the share link real quick and allow me to see your notes? I think I could explain how to fix it better if you did that.
His Servant
Just figured it out. Sorry about that. I just need to add my own notes, when I don't have the option "see your friend's notes" on.
Thanks for your help, Matthew. BTW, I haven't put any notes in, so there's nothing to see if I did that :) (which, I did do, btw)
EDIT - I still don't understand how to use the inter. and advan. settings though….oh, well, I guess I'd best be looking around the site more!
Matthew Minica
Yeah, I was going to try to explain it to you (I didn't have anybody else that allowed me yet) but I see you figured it out. :)
EDIT - There is a user's guide - just click on "help" on the top bar.
His Servant
May I know why you put all our verses under verse 3 and 9?
Matthew Minica
I think it's just telling us what verses I tagged with the same tag. I only put the words "Bible Bee 2013" and then told the system to put it on all 24 Bible Bee passages.
His Servant
Then, you now a lot more about the site than I do.
But, you know, if I start inputting all my notes, you'll pretty much have everything I do for Bible Bee…and then I'll never beat you at locals! JK….sorta.
Matthew Minica
Let's hope you're just kidding!! :) You know, you could just disallow me from seeing your notes.
2 Corinthians 5:17
I'm kinda having a hard time figuring out the site! :- |
biblebee
I joined once I heard about it from the Sword Study. BTW - I added you as a friend.
2 Corinthians 5:17
Bethany - I added you as a friend, if I did it right! :)
Carissa- you're on there too? :) I'll add you as a friend when I get on a certain computer :)
biblebee
Yes, I am on there. I tried to add you as a friend but for some reason it wouldn't let me. I'll try again…
biblebee
There…it worked.
2 Corinthians 5:17
Yay! :)
