KC Scriptorium!

Hey everyone! Just thought I would let you know that our family is hosting a Scriptorium in KC at the beginning of 2015!

Hi. We are excited to be joining from Indonesia by skype. I will, Lord willing, be quoting Luke 18 and then one of our students, Sumel, will be quoting Luke 22. We will also sign up for a chapter of Acts which will be a combination of several students so that everyone who wants to take part can. Love the many Scriptoriums popping up around the country.

What is the date we need to be registered by?

You have to know the chapter a month ahead of time (Feb. 21), so anytime before that, anyone can register for a chapter. =) I dunno about the people who find out after that date though… Why? Are you thinking of coming, or something? :)

FIRST EVER KC SCRIPTORIUM IS LESS THAN 2 DAYS AWAY! =) Super excited about this opportunity our family has in putting this all together! Can't wait to share how it all went!

For a moment I honestly thought it was some kind of joke or something. :P

They do it a lot. I first noticed it with Carissa, but it's apparently just a family thing. They use the present progressive verb form when they should be using the present perfect ("is being" vs. "has been"). I don't know how to explain to them that it's not normal, when they've grown up thinking it's normal. =p

Being = existing, not best word, but best I can think of. It is, as a whole, being/going/….. very well. I'd describe better in person to explain why the word fits so well in my mind. xp

No, that's really not the problem, because you could say, "It's been awesome," and it wouldn't matter. "Exist" isn't the only definition of "be." Honestly, it seems like "It's being awesome" should be correct, but I've literally heard no one but people in your family ever say it that way. xD So it should work, but it doesn't, and I don't know why. So it's your choice whether or not you want to work it out of your vernacular. xP

Honestly, I doubt I'll stop using it, because though I know has been is better sounding and supposedly gramatically correct, being portrays the concept better in my mind…. if that is what you were referring to. ;)

Yup, and it's perfectly understandable that being portrays the concept better, because that's how you've grown up saying it. I can't fault you for that. ;)
