Post on here if you have won, or just did win! :) And we will all congratulate you! ^At least I will…^
:) I'm hoping to win tomorrow's quiz! :)

I was kidding. You said you hoped to win the quiz today, so I said that your ulterior motive was to have a place where you can brag afterward. ;) XD

Yep, great job everyone! We were on the way to the zoo during the quiz, and I forgot to get on until the 6th question :(
At least my dad had his iPhone so I had wifi to do it at all!

You know, let's stop saying that a person won the quiz. Instead…

God's Word won today! We all learned a little bit more about it! Hip, hip, hooray! Congratulations to all those who were paying attention and learned something. =)

I don't think it's necessarily bad to say someone "won" the quiz… It would be bad if people were focusing on that and being prideful and trying to get a high score rather than learn more about God. But I don't think that's going on here.

But yes, that's the point of the quizzes and what is important:):)

I agree with both of you…we do have to be careful - it can be so easy to brag or boast without fully realizing it.

^I wasn't too thrilled with how this was started in the first place…^

I totally agree. And I think we have to be careful about that all the time, not just on the quizzes here…

Wow. Then it must be a good book. I'll see if I can find it. I think all of us struggle with pride sometimes, in some form or another. I heard recently in the Truth Project that all of us have a "hunger for significance". It is an appetite given by God, but we need to satisfy it in the right way, just like hunger. We should be content with God's reward, instead of craving praise and admiration from people. ;)

Very true. Though, something the first chapter clarifies on is that pride is the root of all sins. And I really believe that. You take any sin, dig it apart, and in the end, pride is at the root of it all.

"And let us believe that, when we are broken down under a sense of our pride, and our impotence to cast it out, Jesus Christ Himself will come in to impart this grace too, as a part of His wondrous life within us." ~Humility, chap. 1, pg. 4

Love this quote.

Yes. That is true.

Doesn't it say somewhere in the Bible that the love of money is the root of all evil? :P

Oh, GREAT book! I read it a while ago, but I really should read it again. Thanks for reminding me about it. :) Pride is something I certainly struggle with - a lot.

Hmm.. I never had much of a pride problem. Maybe because it always got stomped on by someone who did. I don't know, anyway, I had other things to concern myself about. 0.o

You know, I think that is one thing we need to watch out for - thinking that we don't have a pride problem. (Not saying you do, not at all. xP) Just that that is when pride can be the sneakiest. :)

@Sarah: I must be honest though (iron sharpens iron, right? and please, correct me if I misunderstood your comment! :) – we all have a pride problem. How else is pride the root of all sins?
But consider this: the Lord is so merciful to show us the depth of our pride! He could just leave us to ourselves, to wallow in it, and be perfectly blind to it – but in His kindness and mercy, He opens our eyes, and places the desire in us to develop a heart of true humility. A hard, very hard, and yet great endeavor.

@seth: Yes, it really is a great book! It is one I would read over and over again. :)

@Courtney: Agreed!

Courtney, Seth, and Rosie: You are very right. I was wrong for my prideful remark. I don't know why I said it. Please forgive me.

You're forgiven. :) None of us can "cast stones" at anyone else anyways. We have the same problem! :P

Yep, unfortunately.
