jumping in OHIO too!!! how did everyone like the format last year (which sadly is the format this year as well)? Because of the change, last year I didn't make it to nationals:( in 2011 I made it because there were lots of verses and you could get by with just memorizing those. I didn't spend very much time on the sword study. then in 2012, I didn't know how much more I needed to study the sword study to make it to nationals so I didn't make it:( my oral round score was very high, but my test score was what held me back.

Hooray!!!! I love Bible Bee season. There is just nothing like holding your stack of cards for a couple hours a day and memorizing God's Word. :)

@All —- If you have a Young Explorer in the family, do they still get to compete at Locals? I'm confused.

I think the Young Explorer is for children who are not old enough to compete….. or for younger siblings to study with their older siblings.

Actually, my younger brother, Ethan, is old enough to compete, and he is using the Young Explorer book. I think it's for younger contestants because it has an easier reading level or something.
