I meant about the BB doing something for college-age people. Concerning BB being in San Antonio, I'm actually very happy about it, because we have family and old friends there (my parents used to live in TX).

Oh, sorry, I wasn't really replying to you. Just replying to all this in general. But I actually didn't see Rachel's comment or hear that news, so thanks for pointing it out again! xD

My mom said tonight that it was her understanding that the opportunities for college-age students were in the realm of internships, not actual competition participation.

It is the 28th amendment of the Constitution.

Or the 1st amendment to the Bee of rights :).

So do you think that they could have internships for out-of-state people?!?!?!

:( Interning for BB would be so much fun! But they have plenty of time to figure out how someone can intern without moving there :).

I don't know. We only have until book 13 or something. Is she really bad later on? I mean, would I not want to be her? I guess I chose her sorta cause I felt sorry for her :).

Well, I don't know about anyone else, but I am getting the sword study from the McMahan's website anyway, "Apply" sections and everything. My sister and I are thinking of doing our own version of the Bible Bee with us supplying small prizes for completing the sword study and memorizing the individual passages. Since I aged out after 2014, and none of the rest of the kids are willing to put in the time to qualify for Nationals, besides that the nearest Bee would be a several hour drive to get to, this is not actually as devastating as it sounds. However, for the sake of the rest of you, I am very sorry that they are making all these changes. You have my empathy. What empathy I possess, that is, which is not significant. The Bible Bee, old guard and new, remain in my prayers, though, as far as preference goes I say with Roo (I think it was): "I like the old Bible Bee best."

Yeah, 2014 was a good year to age out. I'm kind of in a similar situation, regarding the interest of my siblings and all. We'll still be doing it, but I have doubts about going to Nats. I am very interested to see what happens with these changes, though.
