O_O Wow!!

I know one of the passages! Yay! :P
Check that. I technically know 2 and 2/3 passages. :P
Emma
How are you memorizing that fast? Are you using the loci method?
ServantOfTheKing
What's the loci method? As you may have heard, I plan on writing a book on memorization, and am researching methods of memorization.
Emma
Everett explains it in the topic titled "A new technique for memorizing loads of information faster than you thought possible!"
ServantOfTheKing
Ok, thanks for sharing. :) That looks really cool. I'll have to try it some time.
Bella M.
I've got all my verses memorized, I finished them yesterday! :D
Sarah B.
Good for you! :D
Could someone list the verses you all are memorizing? :)
Matthew Minica
They're listed on the BB website - http://www.biblebee.org/page.php?name=2014SummerMaterials - as well as on Scripture Typer. :)
Sarah B.
Oh yeah! That's right. I forgot about that! Thanks.
Everett C.
@emma - Yes I am using it. I kind of just try to memorize them all really fast, then I let them sit, review them right before I go to bed, and then the next day make them perfect. I like the loci method for verses because if I make a mistake or I keep making the same mistake I can just add an image in to remind me what the verse says. Oh, and I don't use journeys for some of the verses like Psalm 65:7-8. I found it easier to just have the ocean as my backdrop and then make a little story out of it.
@Bella - Great job!

Hey…anyone else notice that Psalm 105:3-4 is a word-for-word quote of 1 Chronicles 16:10-11 which we memorized in 2012?
I read the verses and thought…wait a minute!
Pretty sneaky. ;)
ServantOfTheKing
Yeah, I noticed that. It was pretty cool. :)

I did too!!! Except, in KJV 1 Chr. says " Seek his face continually", and Ps. 105 says "evermore"…
HyperDancer
That's pretty cool!

I know! I was really happy when I read it though! :)
His Servant
Bethany here hasn't memorized any yet. I know, I know. Very bad compared to all you who have lots done so far! XD I'll get on it, don't worry. :)
Jarrett
shocked But it won't take you long anyway :D
Have you done anything with Jonah yet?
His Servant
Yeah. I'll get them done, don't worry. :) I'll have them so good by Locals, there is no way I could mess up. Haha.
Yup! That's what I've been working on this morning! Making my plans and charts right now. :)
Jarrett
Great! I haven't done anything with Jonah yet. I've just been workiing on the verses. And I'm trying Everett's new method so I'm a bit slow
2 Corinthians 5:17
Making my plans and charts right now. :)
You should tell me about them! :)
Emma
What kind of plans and charts? ; )
Courtney M.
*shocked*
I don't quite see why so many of you are treating Locals like Nationals…we only have 59 verses to do! :P
His Servant
@Rachel and Emma - Well, um… they are just some charts I came up with for myself to make sure I'm getting everything done everyday that my parents want me too. Also made some for chores, because last year I wasn't doing well on staying up with my responsibilities around the house. So yeah, that's what that's about. :P
@Courtney - That's what I want to know! I'll get my verses done, but I don't think it needs to be such a cram. I don't have to get stressed out to do Bible memory. :)
2 Corinthians 5:17
*shocked*I don't quite see why so many of you are treating Locals like Nationals...we _only_ have 59 verses to do! :P
Totally!!! I'm taking it slow =)
His Servant
Haha. Compared to me, Rachel, you're taking it fast! JK. I'm the slowest of you all!
Jedidiah Diligence Breckinridge III
I'm not rushing.
But then, I'm not competing this year. :P
Jarrett
Oh…for me I got to treat it kinda like Nat's. I got school in the summer too
Courtney M.

Well, I'm not saying that's a bad thing, if that's what you want to do. :) I do school in the summer too.
@Rachel and Bethany: I totally agree with you! I'm just setting my own pace as I go along. :)
Emma
I just want to make sure I have the ability to memorize verses quickly. Last year for nats, I was still figuring out a method that worked for me, and with school on top of that……. I didn't end up memorizing all of them.
Emma
It was also hard, because usually I use the Bible Bee CD to help me memorize; different story for nats……
Now I'm not going to listen to the songs until I'm done memorizing them.
Cow
I think I win, Bethany. I haven't even read over my verses yet XD I totally need to get my act together XD
2 Corinthians 5:17

Welllll……….. xP
God's Maiden of Virtue
Haha, if we hadn't been gone from early morning to late evening on Monday, and if I didn't have loads of school still, I would have finished on Tuesday - but since we were gone, and I do have school - I finished this morning right before 8:00!!!
So excited! And can't wait to start on Jonah!
Wow! You guys have done/are doing great!!!
biblebee
Awesome! :)
Child of God
Did anyone else notice that there were asterisks next to Psalm 107:10-15 and James 5: 15-16 in Week four day two? The SS said that they were only putting asterisks next to the summer passages and I didn't see those verses on our cards….
Emma
Psalm 107:13-15 is a BB passage… I don't know about the James one offhand.
Child of God
Yes, I know that Psalm 107: 13-15 is, but…not 10-12! :)
Emily H
Yeah, sometimes they've put asterisks next to passages that some of the verses were memory verses. I don't know why it would be next to the James one though…
Courtney M.
Probably a typo. There've been a few of those. :P How about in the Senior SS, Week 4 Day 3, in the digging deeper, when it said Revelation 4:1? I think it meant Revelation 14:1.
Matthew Minica
makes mental note Ask Mama when we get the survey this year to mention the abundant typos in the Sword Study each year and ask if they would please be more careful. It makes me a tiny bit worried that there might possibly be the same kind of thing going on in the test.
Courtney M.
Okay, good idea. Do you think the meant Revelation 14:1? I kind of want a second opinion. :P
Matthew Minica
Undoubtedly.

I'm pretty sure that the 2011 Primary test asked the same question twice :/
InSoloChristo
About typos: one of the more scary typos is the misspelling of the Greek word, metanoeo. The (Junior, at least) Sword Study spells it mentanoeo, with an extra N. It's probably a good idea to know both "forms", correct and incorrect. :P
Courtney M.
Hmph. Thanks for bringing that up! I haven't noticed that yet.
Hopefully the tests will be better edited than the Sword Studies. xP
ServantOfTheKing
Yeah, their abundance of mistakes has been a little bit concerning to me. The Lord has given me a sort of talent when it comes to editing, so when I "graduate" BB, I plan to apply as an editor (We hope they get one before then though). =)
2 Corinthians 5:17
That sounds great, Allison! :D
