Bible Memory Accountability

This group is for keeping each other accountable with our Bible memory. Don't think you have to post on it all the time, but it's just to make sure that we're all keeping up with the goals we've made for Bible memory!

Wow, that was fast! :D I'm glad you put this up–I'll be sure to post here whenever I memorize something. :)

Oh, thank you for starting this topic, Bethany! It will be so helpful to have others keeping me accountable in my Bible memory!

Well, I've made the goal for January-February to memorize 10-15 of the shorter psalms. So far, I have memorized Psalm 67 and Psalm 70, and I am working on chapter 98.

What about the rest of you?

I should finish Isaiah 12 today or tomorrow… I'm not sure what I'll do after that.

Okay, this weeks goal regarding my Bible memory is memorizing Matthew 6 and Galatians 1. Feel free to ask me during the week how it's going - I would really appreciate it!

@Rosie - What verse are you on in Psalm 98?

@His Servant I: Alright - how far are you? Are you memorizing all 58 verses this week? runs a few calculations Oh, that's just 8.285714 (with 285714 repeated to infinity) verses every day. Not as tough as I thought.
I started Psalm 29 yesterday.

So, how are you doing so far on your goal this week, Bethany (seeing as you requested us to ask :D)? And how far have you gotten through Psalm 29, ISC? :)

@Bethany- I am on verse 5….considering that the chapter is only 9 verses long, I should be able to finish it by tomorrow. :)
How is your memorization coming, Bethany (though I'm the third person to ask :) ?

I just finished verse six, and I'll probably finish the chapter today. Then I'll start - I'm not sure.

@ISC, Nicolas and Rosie - Thanks for asking! I actually had memorized Matthew 6 last year, so I'm just refreshing it…I finished verse 6 this morning, and hope to be through verse 15 before I go to bed. I haven't started on Galatians 1 yet.

@Nicolas - Are you memorizing anything right now?

@Rosie - Maybe the next time we talk on the phone, we can quote our passages for each other!

I wish I could say that I am… But at the moment, I am not. I should probably start something now… probably Genesis 1. It'll be my first chapter memorized in ESV, which I will now be using to memorize the Bible. :)

I'm working through Ps. 139 right now… just about done with polishing it… also 1 Thess.

@ISC - Just curious, but are you doing Bible Bee again this year? And why do you say that 8 verses is tough? This is what you commented once on the Memverse blog - "@God's Maiden of Virtue and amy: Thanks! I usually memorize 8-10 verses a day." :P

@All - I'm hoping to finish up Matthew 6 today, and tomorrow I'll start on Galatians 1. Pretty soon, I'll need to come up with my goal for next week's memory work! Thanks for asking how I've been doing…

@His Servant I: Oh, of course. Just like me. mutters something under his breath At first, before I divided 58 by 7, 58 just sounded like a lot. (Even if it isn't.) But what's even tougher than that is the .285714 to the infinity. How on earth do you divide a verse like that? And yes, we plan on doing Bible Bee this year.

Today I'm working on Psalm 110.

How is your Bible memory going for the week, everyone?

@Jordan - where are you at in your memorizing of 1 Thessalonians? I memorized that book last year, but it needs a LOT of review right now to get it polished again :)

I'm in the middle of the second chapter… I've been a little slow :/

Today (and maybe tomorrow) I'm memorizing Jonah 2.

@His Servant I: Have you started Galatians 1?

@ISC - You already finished Psalm 110 and now you're on Jonah 2? Great! Thanks for asking how I'm doing on my memory work…I didn't finish Matthew 6 yesterday (have 3-4 more verses), but plan to today as well as start on Galatians 1.

I still have a school paper to write and a science study guide to take before I can memorize though! Better get busy as we have the Wednesday night meeting tonight as well!

@Rosie - How is the memorizing going for you?

I have finished Matthew 6, and have 7 more verses in Galatians 1.

@His Servant I: I'm not doing terribly well. (Like verse 2 or 3.) I've been quite busy reading my Bible, reading another book for school, (and I need to read another chapter in a book by R. C. Sproul before our church's father-son study tonight), and writing a poem (so far I've finished 96 lines), and I could add a few more excuses but I won't.

@Bethany- I'm sorry I didn't respond sooner, I haven't been on for a couple days. I fell a bit behind schedule yesterday and am trying to catch up. I am finishing up Psalm 98, and I believe the next chapter I'm supposed to start on today is Psalm 110 or 113. I should go check that……goes and checks….okay, it's Psalm 110. Thanks for asking! :)

Rosie - That's okay, I understand completely! I hope that your memorizing of Psalm 110 goes well and that you learn from it :)

Well, I hope to finish Galatians 1 tomorrow, I'll let you know how it goes, tomorrow :)

Right now I am working on memorizing Matthew with my family. I am also deciding which epistle to memorize. Though before I start on any epistle I should probably review all my other epistles that I memorized last year :D

My goal to memorize before Friday is 1 Thessalonians chapter 1 and hopefully most of chapter 2

Eden you should have a good chance of finishing both chapters if you work really hard:) I'm sure you can do it:)

I'm so glad that we can still go to Nationals,and feel like we are still a part of things. Volunteering almost made up for not being able to compete, and it definitely allowed us to get the inside scoop on the behind the scenes work:) I'm so excited to see what God will do this year:)

Anytime! If you feel like you need to review more than once a week, I would be open to that, as I can certainly use as much review as I can get:)

I have a goal to finish memorizing Matthew 5-7 before BB starts - I'm in chapter 6 verse 22.

So, I'm wanting to memorize some stuff in ESV, specifically a psalm. Any suggestions? Favorite psalms anyone?

Also, I'm planning on memorizing the Christmas story. Anyone else doing that this month? :)
