Cake Decorating............

Any of you girls (or boys) enjoy cake decorating?

I've never had a huge interest in cake decorating, but the pastor's wife at our church is really, really good at decorating them. She makes them for special occasions- such as weddings, birthdays, holidays, ect…

YES!!! I just made cupcakes yesterday…they are easier to handle and you can do more cool designs on them but I hope to make a cake someday :)

i don't like cake decorating but i like eating cakes!!!!!!!!!!! yum!:)

I LOVE cake decorating! I'm gonna decorate a cake for our county fair! Has anybody every decorated a doll cake? You bake the cake either in a special cake pan that comes with the kit, or you can bake it in an overturned mixing bowl! And then for the top, a tiny doll that doesn't have legs comes in the kit, and on the bottom of it it has a pick so you can stick it in the cake and decorate it as a girl with a big, full dress. I had one for my 5th or 6th (I can't remember which) birthday, and I'm making one again all by myself for the fair. Is anyone else going to do (or has done) anything for the fair?

YES! I REALLY DO! Especially when I win second prize for a decorated cake at our county fair. When OCTSRIS noticed that I had won second prize, I wish everyone who liked to decorate cakes could have been there. (At least the girls who don't get headaches easily.) I screamed, shrieked, screeched, squealed (which made my brothers cover their ears), jumped up and down, ran up and hugged my mom, and lots of other stuff. A really nice judge even opened the case so we could get a good picture.

Good job, Mommy's Helper. I wish I knew how to decorate a cake but I don't know how to…yet :D My mom is really good at decorating cakes and I would really like if she could teach me.

My sister, my mother and I just started cake and cookie decorating. For my 13th birthday party that just happened, we made 80 Bible cookies and 2 cakes, one a Bible cake with fondant, the other with buttercream. You should have seen them! Earlier this month a decorated a cake with a cello on it….it was kind of hard but turned out really nice!

I've done a doll cake before… it's fun!

My mom used to do football field cakes for my brothers birthdays. Once for my b-day she made an epic castle cake complete with likes bridge and a mote! It was awesome!

@Rachel, Eden, and Danielle: Wow…that's so neat. I really want to learn how to decorate cakes. My mom is REALLY good at it. She has made lots of different cakes…camping cakes, doll cakes, flower, cakes, etc…

Me an my sister decorate cookies for Christmas but I lose interest VERY quickly :P

This Valentine's I lost ideas of "Valentine-like" designs so I made an American flag design - red for blue, pink for red and white for white. I omitted the stars.

Well I was going to do an iwo Jimo value but Daniel wants me to do a different one…I'll probably going to post a picture of this one though. I am hoping to do an iwo jima cake sometime soon

Wow! That sounds really neat! I made a flag cake today for the 4th. I used blueberries for the stars and strawberries for the stripes. I love to bake…..the designing of the cake is the best part!

I want to do a huge big stacked up cake for the fair. I know my mom won't let me, but I thought I could get best of show if there was a problem (like last year at least three people got best of show for decorating cakes).
Did you know you can make a diaper cake? Search online for instructions (It's hard to explain). My mom made one for my aunt's baby shower (Well, really the baby shower was for my cousin that my aunt was having) and my grandpa thought it was real. Ha ha ha ha ha LOL
Designing cakes is fun! I probably have a thousand drawings of cakes I wanted to make for my birthday/the fair! lol JK

Lol uh that sounds interesting…. :) almost as bad as when my friend who loves cats had a little box cake for her birthday. :P they put gram crackers on top to make it look like litter. :P

We made one of those once for a cake walk! We put melted Tootsie Rolls all over it. The lady who won it had to ask me what all the ingredients were before she accepted her prize. :D

put some betty crockers choco frostin on- rub it around with a knife
put it on the table, and before you blink its gone.

My recipe for cake:
Cake mix
Eggs
Water
Oil
————-
mix all the ingredients together. Put half the batter into a cake pan and bake. Eat the rest of the batter plain. (YUM!) Slather the cake in lots of frosting. Then cover the cake in sprinkles (The kind that's just colored sugar crystals.)
Let it cool for about 30 seconds, then dive in before anyone even knows you baked a cake.
Quickly finish the cake before anyone sees you, and wash all the dishes it used to make/eat it. Then you hand-dry the dishes and put them away, clean up the crumbs and brush your teeth. Then nobody knows you even made a cake, and nobody calls you a hog for eating it all! And the next day, you're sick. :P

My first decently decorated cake was for Mom's surprise birthday party last year. I told her I wanted to attempt a layer cake (so that there would be enough for everyone). I decorated it with brown frosting, pink flowers, and beads around all the edges.
