We're missionaries, and we're on deputation, so we've been gone for a year on Wednesday.

It wasn't the best in the world, and I learned several lessons, especially about the quick-pour fondant…. but I really enjoy using royal icing now!

I have been making and decorating cakes. I really enjoy it. I actually want to have a friend of our to teach me. BTW, I know 3 people who make and decorate cakes already. My mom made a cheesecake that sold for $500! So I have plenty of resources. I like make cakes for birthday's. There is a quote on Siblings Quote's from one of my cake making episodes.

Great job! I've never entered a cake into a contest, well, except for at our church's Hill Billy Night. That time it was a contest to see who could come up with the most disgusting cake. xP But that doesn't really count…

@Brianna- What did you do?

We make a cake for Reformation Day, that is a diet of Worms cake. It's a mud cake with gummy worms on top.

The time I did it by myself I think it won 2nd place…it was a muddy wormy cake. 8D

But I didn't use gummy worms. 8P

Good. LOL. I'll eat caterpillars but not worms.

My grandparents cake turned out really well, it actually turned out yellow. Which is impressive for me. LOL

OHH YEAAAAHHH!

I decorated snowflake cookies for our voice recital tonight, and my teacher thought they were store-bought. xD

I decorated my 13th birthday cake on my 13th birthday (obviously :P) and it turned out pretty well. I can't put on pictures right now but hopefully I will soon. We also decorated cookies yesterday. I made one of my gingerbread men crossing his eyes and sticking his tongue out. :P

Mama and I went to a cake decorating class this morning! =D It was awesome! I'm going to make a cake for church this week practicing the techniques. It's at Michaels. We took the first course (almost 2 years ago), and now we're taking the second one. xD But I'm sad - they've discontinued the fourth course:'(

That sounds like a lot of fun! I love cake decorating. :) My family makes a cake once a month for the birthdays at our church. So it's fun to be able to make them a lot. :)

I don't know if anyone knows what THM - Trim Healthy Mama - is, but I had fun with Harmony making and decorating a cake that is healthy(THM)! It was really fun, though since I wasn't using powdered sugar, the icing wouldn't thicken as much as I would have preferred, but it was still pretty good:)

Has anyone ever heard of or made a cake without baking powder and/or baking soda? A family friend wants me to decorate a cake for her daughter-in-law's birthday, but the daughter-in-law is allergic to both baking powder and baking soda. xP So…I'm not quite sure if it's even possible, but maybe someone else on here knows. xD
