Hair :)

My mom says that normal hair growth is at most 1/2 per month. But normally more like 1/4 per month (unless your hair just naturally grows fast like mine…).

Yes, that is what I have heard too, about 6 inches per year. However, I think that mine grows a bit slower… maybe 4-5 inches a year. :'( You are very fortunate to have fast growing hair!! :)

I think my hair grows even slower than that…but it is already long, so I don't mind too much. :)

What my friend said was that she thought her hair grew a lot faster when she did it because it had grown hardly at all for a long time. So it was like it was building up. Whereas us whose hair has been growing at more of a steady pace, we don't see the results as much.

I'm not sure, but she said you're not supposed to do it for more than a week at a time, and not for more than four minutes, because of circulation. I haven't done it regularly in a while.

NO NO NO!!!!! Do NOT pour the oil on your hair! Please! You just put it on your fingertips and massage it into your scalp. I think that's the biggest thing, because when I don't use the coconut oil, it doesn't work as well. But I had it grow 1 1/2 in. in a day, when I used the coconut oil, so I'm going to go back to using it.

@Rachel and Little Annie Oakley Actually, its not superstitious. I looked it up and since blood helps your hair grow when you lay with your hair over a bed then blood goes to your head thus helping hair growth. :) So far its grown about 3/4 of an inch or so, so it actually *does* sort of work - just not as fast as I had hoped. :)

Well, what my friend told me- she's into natural hair everything- was that it's supposed to grow between one to three inches every week that you do it. My hair, like Courtney said, was not growing for several years, but it grew really fast this summer, and I think that it's mainly due to that.

The coconut oil, at least, this is how she explained it to me, opens up the hair follicles, helping the hair slip out while you're upside down. Well, just your head is upside down. Also, when you're not doing it, massaging your scalp helps it grow..

what's the difference to hanging your hair over a couch or bed, as opposed to just having it loose, hanging from your head? I wonder if this has been tested scientifically, or what; like blind/double blind studies, etc. don't suppose it would work for me, being a guy without long enough hair to produce much weight, maybe some weighted hair clips or something.

I believe that it's because it elevates your body to get more of the bloodflow to your head.

I just leave it. Oh, and you can do it twice a day, morning and evening.

Well, I did it for a week! It grew about 3/4 inch. :) :(

It's around my waist :) I think a little longer than that, actually.

I think they are pretty much right… It certainly makes you look younger in the face. And more approachable.

My hair looks like I dye it when it's in a pony tail sort of. It's blond with lots of brown highlights. It looks like stripes when it's in a ponytail. :P

:-D. My hair does something like that, when it is bright it looks like the front of my hair is red ( My hair is brown). Sometimes I get kinda confused, because occasionally I will dye my hair.

Cool! It's cool to have changing hair colors because if your brothers happen to love making movies with their family and you have to play more than one role, you can look like two different people!

:-) I don't actually dye it. I put hair chalk in it, and it all comes out the moment water touches it. It kinda bugs me, but I would never want to dye it permanently... There is this one lady who works at our local Target. She dyed ALL of her hair pink or purple or something like that.

Uh, I think hair like that is disgusting. Not sinful or anything like some people think it is, but I would never do it unless I put in the kind that washes out really quickly.

Leave it! Hair is much nicer (for girls) if it's longer. And you can always cut it if you want it shorter, but you can't make it grow back really fast if you want it longer.
