How about instead of only talking about what movies are OK to see, we also talk about which ones are helpful and how? Because a movie can be "permissible" but not "beneficial", if you get my drift. And even movies that have a few "non-OK" aspects can be helpful in certain ways or certain parts.

I'm not trying to shoot you down - it was just an idea to expand the subject matter :)

Here are some of my favorite movies (in no particular order):

The Radicals
Pendragon
Runner from Ravenshead
Facing the Giants
Courageous
The Printing
God's Outlaw: William Tyndale
Moody Science Films (I really like Time and Eternity and Windows of the Soul).

Random Narnian Warrior (Tarva/Abi)

Narnia (shock and awe!)
Sight and Sound - Joseph
Aladdin
Prince of Egypt

The songs are awesome! My family probably thinks I'm weird, as I'm singing "Hush Now, My Baby" to "When Dreams Come True" to "Prince Ali" to "The Call" to "You Are My Light" to "A Whole New World" to "Can't Take It In". :-D

You really should, they're great! The best ones are Captain America and Thor. The Iron Man movies are good, but there was one inappropriate scene in the beginning of the first one. Some people like them, some don't.

I have seen the first LOTR and the Hobbit. I liked the LOTR, but I don't want to watch the Hobbit again. It was too long to hold my interest, and it gave me a headache to watch.
@Zayne, I liked the first two Iron Man movies, I haven't seen Thor, and I didn't really like Captain America. I haven't seen the Avengers either, but I want to. My favorite Marvel movie was the first Spider Man.

As a Spidey fan, I was disappointed by the first 3 Spidey movies. I want to see them (for laughs), but they were not close to comic canon, and made Peter out to be less of a genius than he really is. I'm thinking about Amazing Spider-Man though……even though the costume from the first three movies was better.

Sorry, I grouse about differences between books and movies based off of books and comics a lot!

So was I. So was I. The beginning, the plot, Susan and Caspian, there were just SO many parts you could complain about!

D31c974fe43f1230dbcb183971bfbdec?s=128&d=mm

Emily H

Mine too!!!!
Yes! On our way home from Nationals last year! The Waters told my mom about it, so we went to see it in Branson!!! It's even cooler live! Which other ones have you seen?

Random Narnian Warrior (Tarva/Abi)

"Noah" "In the Beginning" "Psalms of David" and "Ruth". Oh, yeah, and "Joseph".
Don't watch "Psalms of David" unless you're really bored. It's just singing.
I memorized "Joseph" word-for-word! So what do we do on 3-hour road trips? Recite it from beginning to end, songs included! :-)

D31c974fe43f1230dbcb183971bfbdec?s=128&d=mm

Emily H

I've seen all of those too! =D Yeah…I agree about "Psalms of David". We have the movie and the sound track, so we listen to the sound track sometimes in the car. :)
I have most of Joseph memorized! =D We quote from it all the time…

D31c974fe43f1230dbcb183971bfbdec?s=128&d=mm

Emily H

Well, my mom will usually quote it with us. It's awesome! Her favorite one to say is "I think they try". She says it so funny, any time we say anything about trying. =D

D31c974fe43f1230dbcb183971bfbdec?s=128&d=mm

Emily H

How did you hear about Sight & Sound? Which is your favorite song from Joseph? Did you watch the special features on it? =D

D31c974fe43f1230dbcb183971bfbdec?s=128&d=mm

Emily H

No he didn't. It was some guy who had dark curly hair and blue eyes, and he was pretty tall and a lot younger than Josh K. And he was taller than Jacob. Actually, all the actors were different. Nomti was a skinny gray-haired guy in Branson. =D

I looooved When Dreams Come True! Did you like it the first time or the last time better? I think I liked it the first time best…both were awesome though! I also like the one…I forgot what it's called, but the "Praise the Lord of Creation" one. I really liked all the songs all the brothers sang together!!! They had such beautiful voices!
That was so funny about the rat!! =D That poor guy, he looked so freaked out. :D

Random Narnian Warrior (Tarva/Abi)

First time. "And with a heart of faith…sniffs…I will try and see…" We found every little goof-up he did…ever! Mom loved "Praise the Lord of Creation" the second time, in Egypt. She played it over and over!
"Bwah! Ugh! Ach, that is sick! U-u-u-uh!" LOL

Which of the brothers is your favorite, besides Joseph? I like Judah "I'm the hansome brother here" and Dan "Learn to hunt and be a man".
The guy who played Reuben played Abel in "In the Beginning" and Joseph played Gabriel and Dan played Cain. We're pretty sure Zeblulun played Adam, too. The cup-bearer played the devil, Pharaoh (2) played Michael, and one of Lady P.'s servants played Eve (the one who laughed when Lady P. said "a laugh").

Emily H

how do you get a man like Joseph…..at first I was kinda worried about that part. :P

D31c974fe43f1230dbcb183971bfbdec?s=128&d=mm

Emily H

Yeah, I noticed that too, now it bugs be every time we watch it! :P
Hahaha, I felt so bad for him. It would be like me having to hold a tarantula. lol

I LOVED Simeon, =D and Judah, and Gad was so funny, and Zebulun too. Isacar (however his name is spelled) had a WAY high/squeaky voice.

My favorite funny part is when Joseph said "Never to fulfil the dreams of his youth" hehe =D But I also like "How could you be so stupid!" and "I hate singing, especially yours. I've been ordered to sing to you every day!"

I so loved finding people from Joseph in the other movies!! That's like the only reason I watch Psalms of David is because it has so much of "Joseph" in it! I LOVE his voice!!!!!

Random Narnian Warrior (Tarva/Abi)

The only animals I'm afraid of are spiders LESS than an inch across. The big ones are cool!

"Never to fulfill the dreams…" Oh, man, that was really funny!

In POD I was just looking for people I recognized, too.

Oh, and Azenath played one of the people who was at the evil king's celebration in Noah. And Joseph was the one guy who said he'd pay however many pieces of silver for the idol then got all mad when the other guy out bid him!
We're always like, "Joseph!! Azenath!! How could you!!!"

D31c974fe43f1230dbcb183971bfbdec?s=128&d=mm

Emily H

Really!? I've only seen Ruth like twice. Mostly I watch Joseph, and then Noah. =D Joseph is so awesome. =D =D Although, they have WAY too much makeup. :P I guess they have to do that for live plays though…

D31c974fe43f1230dbcb183971bfbdec?s=128&d=mm

Emily H

Yeah, we sat in the back when we went to see it, and I couldn't tell how much makeup they had on. Till we bought the video.. =D
Did you know that they're doing Jonah in PA right now (Joseph is still playing in Branson) then after Jonah, they're going to do Moses!?!!

D31c974fe43f1230dbcb183971bfbdec?s=128&d=mm

Emily H

I have no idea!! I can't wait to see it though!!! But it said it wouldn't come out till 2014… :( And that's just at the theater in PA.

"IIIIIIII never got to read!!!!" Haha, I love that part too. =D

D31c974fe43f1230dbcb183971bfbdec?s=128&d=mm

Emily H

I know! He is so funny though. =D

I know…. :'( :'( I wish we lived closer… Do you do Bible Bee!?

D31c974fe43f1230dbcb183971bfbdec?s=128&d=mm

Emily H

In Branson, they said some of the lines a little different too… It took me a while to get used to the video. :)
