That's similar to Hamlet, if I remember correctly.

I wouldn't know! :) LOL
Random Narnian Warrior (Tarva/Abi)
I had a good bit of Hamlet memorized for a bit. But not any more.

Most of the movies that we tend to watch, are pretty old. Has anyone seen "Missionary to Walkers Garage"? If so does any one know where to find it on DVD? We still watch it on 16mm reel to reel film. It's one of my Dad's, (and mine as well) favorite movies. Yes we watch movies on reel to reel. We inherited a projector from My Great Grandpa, Rev. O.
Any one ever seen "Coach." It is similar to "Facing the Giants" only it's about basket ball, and it's a lot older. I think my Dad watched it when he was young.

No…I haven't seen either of those two films. I'll have to check them out!
Random Narnian Warrior (Tarva/Abi)
I haven't either.

Has anyone seen "Ben-Hur" or "The Robe"? Both movies I love, and I've read the books, too. But I like the book of "The Robe" better and the movie of "Ben-Hur" better.
Emily H
I've seen Ben-Hur!!!!!!!! <3 <3 <3
BREAKING NEWS! It's...ah...nobody important. nevermind.
I seen both of them, Ben-Hur was great, but the robe was bad
Random Narnian Warrior (Tarva/Abi)
I watched the movies before I read the books. They changed too much of the book in "The Robe". Demetrius doesn't run away in the book. And they took out the fistfight and the dagger fight! And Justus doesn't die in the book.
I liked "Ben-Hur" the movie because Messella dies right after the chariot race rather than at the end. The book was a little anti-climactic. And in the book there were about a dozen chapter-long monologues. Emily, I really have to agree with you!!
Emily H
I've read about half the book and it is SOOO hard to read :P But I'm always so sad when Messella dies. for some reason. I don't know why. Actually I do, because Judah finally got what he wanted and then realized he didn't want it.
Emily H
btw, I'm planning on finishing the book, it's just Bible Bee started and I didn't have time :P It was finally getting REALLY interesting. :P
Random Narnian Warrior (Tarva/Abi)
I ended up skipping a bit in the thicker chapters. :-S So no need to feel bad.
My record shortest reading time for "The Robe" is a week. (I've read it three or four or five times.)
Emily H
Lol…naughty girl. :P I always read every word sometimes several times…I read really weird.
How long is it? I've only heard the title before, I know absolutely nothing about the book. :P
Random Narnian Warrior (Tarva/Abi)
Give me a minute…I'll see if I can find a word count.
Emily H
okay. Or pages, or "it's reaaaally long", which ever's easier! :)
Random Narnian Warrior (Tarva/Abi)
580-something pages, according to a book review, but ours has only 508. But the print is, like, size 10, and the pages are 5 x 7.5". And the pages are thin and the book is still an inch thick. That's the best I could do.
Emily H
Wow. Okay. :P :D
Random Narnian Warrior (Tarva/Abi)
I skipped a bit of it the first time. But it's got a lot more action than Ben-Hur (the book), so it's easier to stay "in" the book. And it's now my favorite book (besides the Bible) that's not one of the CoN.
Emily H
Yeah, in Ben-Hur he takes like half the chapter to tell you about the sunrise… sighs I really want to read it though. I watched the movie and listened to the Focus on the Family audio version and LOVED them, so I want to see how the book is…
Emily H
Cool! :D
Random Narnian Warrior (Tarva/Abi)
Ben-Hur does drag a bit. :-P I'm thinking about reading it through again sometime, reading all of it.
Emily H
Yeah it does!!! :P I'm hoping I don't have to start all over again to pick it back up…
Random Narnian Warrior (Tarva/Abi)
Yeah, that's a pain when that happens.
biblebee
I've watched Ben Hur!
Dani(elle)
What'd u think? :)
@Leah- no I've never seen it.

BREAKING NEWS! It's...ah...nobody important. nevermind.
Just saw Batman Begins last night. Excellent movie, with the exception of Batman's no kill rule.
Dani(elle)
Yeah I feel like some people just need to dye. :P :)

You people are so mean! The point of having a superhero around is that no one dies!
Incidentally, that reminds me of one of the last Amazing Spider-Man story arcs, do you know it Noah? The "No One Dies" arc.
BREAKING NEWS! It's...ah...nobody important. nevermind.
No i don't. tell me.
What it didn't like is that they made Ras al ghul a villain. In my mind he was a misguided hero.
Hiruko Kagetane
It was when J. Jonah Jameson's wife died, and Peter was totally devastated that he couldn't do anything about it. So, he vows to New York that whenever he's around, no one dies.
But, this was all before Superior Spider-Man. You know what's been going on there, right?
Yeah, he's always been sort of a misguided hero. Trying to save the world by taking it over.
BREAKING NEWS! It's...ah...nobody important. nevermind.
I don't read comics
Hiruko Kagetane
Oh. Why don't you?
In the Superior Spider-Man, Peter is, and is not, Spider-Man.
BREAKING NEWS! It's...ah...nobody important. nevermind.
I would like to, but I don't. I have read some comics, (like Hit-Girl, and Old Man Logan, I have only read one continuous comic) My mom doesn't go much on comics though. ;)

No innocent or good people die. I'm not saying that Batman should have killed all the drug dealers but really.. Why didn't he at least kill scarcrow???
Hiruko Kagetane
Um, who gives him the authority to kill them? He goes where the police can't go, and gives them the evidence needed to prosecute them in court! Then the government decides whether they die! It's not like LOTR, where Orcs are Orcs, and are killed on sight. This is based in America!
BREAKING NEWS! It's...ah...nobody important. nevermind.
GOV'MENT decides! HORRORS! govment is the worst institution man has ever made. Tell me straight out Sam, are you a Statist?
SavedByGrace
Dude, government is perfectly fine. Christ's kingdom will be a government–He will be the ruler. :) Government is a God-made institution, but man tends to pervert it; kinda like they do to everything else God made. :P
BREAKING NEWS! It's...ah...nobody important. nevermind.
govment is USUALLY the collection of all the evilest people in a country…the proof is around you.
Though I agree with the founding fathers and their view of government. they saw it a lot differently than the politicians today

Watched the Dark Knight at 11:00 pm yesterday. (I really didn't want to say night again) synopsis: epic, FRUSTRATING, awesome, but one thing cold have made the movie better: the Joker dying a horrible death. That's what I missed the most out of that great movie.
BREAKING NEWS! It's...ah...nobody important. nevermind.
You people are so mean! The point of having a superhero around is that no one dies! Ever heard of the Punisher? Iron Man? Captain America? Wolverine? Rorschach? Etc

Christian Alexander
=OO You finally saw it! :D/
facepalm What is it with you and your bloodthirstiness? xD
BREAKING NEWS! It's...ah...nobody important. nevermind.
If the Joker was real, wouldn't you want him dead?
Christian Alexander
I suppose…. but it wasn't for Batman to do. That's the job of the state/government. (Romans 13)
He's not in The Dark Knight Rises (for obvious reasons), so it could be implied that the government of Gotham did do away with him. shrugs
