Most of the movies that we tend to watch, are pretty old. Has anyone seen "Missionary to Walkers Garage"? If so does any one know where to find it on DVD? We still watch it on 16mm reel to reel film. It's one of my Dad's, (and mine as well) favorite movies. Yes we watch movies on reel to reel. We inherited a projector from My Great Grandpa, Rev. O.
Any one ever seen "Coach." It is similar to "Facing the Giants" only it's about basket ball, and it's a lot older. I think my Dad watched it when he was young.

I watched the movies before I read the books. They changed too much of the book in "The Robe". Demetrius doesn't run away in the book. And they took out the fistfight and the dagger fight! And Justus doesn't die in the book.

I liked "Ben-Hur" the movie because Messella dies right after the chariot race rather than at the end. The book was a little anti-climactic. And in the book there were about a dozen chapter-long monologues. Emily, I really have to agree with you!!

I've read about half the book and it is SOOO hard to read :P But I'm always so sad when Messella dies. for some reason. I don't know why. Actually I do, because Judah finally got what he wanted and then realized he didn't want it.

btw, I'm planning on finishing the book, it's just Bible Bee started and I didn't have time :P It was finally getting REALLY interesting. :P

Lol…naughty girl. :P I always read every word sometimes several times…I read really weird.

How long is it? I've only heard the title before, I know absolutely nothing about the book. :P

580-something pages, according to a book review, but ours has only 508. But the print is, like, size 10, and the pages are 5 x 7.5". And the pages are thin and the book is still an inch thick. That's the best I could do.

I skipped a bit of it the first time. But it's got a lot more action than Ben-Hur (the book), so it's easier to stay "in" the book. And it's now my favorite book (besides the Bible) that's not one of the CoN.

Yeah, in Ben-Hur he takes like half the chapter to tell you about the sunrise… sighs I really want to read it though. I watched the movie and listened to the Focus on the Family audio version and LOVED them, so I want to see how the book is…

You people are so mean! The point of having a superhero around is that no one dies!

Incidentally, that reminds me of one of the last Amazing Spider-Man story arcs, do you know it Noah? The "No One Dies" arc.

It was when J. Jonah Jameson's wife died, and Peter was totally devastated that he couldn't do anything about it. So, he vows to New York that whenever he's around, no one dies.

But, this was all before Superior Spider-Man. You know what's been going on there, right?

Yeah, he's always been sort of a misguided hero. Trying to save the world by taking it over.

No innocent or good people die. I'm not saying that Batman should have killed all the drug dealers but really.. Why didn't he at least kill scarcrow???

Um, who gives him the authority to kill them? He goes where the police can't go, and gives them the evidence needed to prosecute them in court! Then the government decides whether they die! It's not like LOTR, where Orcs are Orcs, and are killed on sight. This is based in America!

Dude, government is perfectly fine. Christ's kingdom will be a government–He will be the ruler. :) Government is a God-made institution, but man tends to pervert it; kinda like they do to everything else God made. :P

I suppose…. but it wasn't for Batman to do. That's the job of the state/government. (Romans 13)

He's not in The Dark Knight Rises (for obvious reasons), so it could be implied that the government of Gotham did do away with him. shrugs
