Poems and Acrostics

@ HisUnworthy Servant - this is great! I have written a few poems myself, but none at the level of this or none that I consider profound:) I always admire writers who strive for excellence and the glory of God, and who God gives a special gift to. Thank you for the blessing.
ServantOfTheKing
Thanks for the encouragement Anna!
But, give the credit to God, because without Him, there wouln't be any poem! (:

Thanks for the reminder - He alone is to be glorified!

Here's a poem I worte last year!
All that I am I owe to Thee,
All that I have I give,
Take thou my life and let it be,
Teach me how thou didst live.
Savior thy sacrifice thy pain,
To nothing can I compare,
All of thy loss to me was gain,
As life thou with me hast shared.
Only this one wish I have,
Grant thou my hope and plea,
That others through my life may see,
The life that You have to me. Amen!

Let's do Bible Bee!
It all is very fun to me!
One time a lady asked me,
"Whats your favorite thing at Bible Bee?"
I answered her, "You're asking me
What my favorite thing is at Bible Bee!
My favorite thing at Bible Bee
Is all the yummy food for me!"

@ISC–Wow. I didn't really read through any of your poems when I first checked out your site–I just skimmed over them–but as I'm going through them now… Wow. They're just amazing. You are really talented! :)

Thank you, Nicolas! (A lot.) When I find time, I'd really like to write another one sometime soon…

I love to write poetry, although I am not very good at it. I have a hard time writing poems that do not rhyme ….I am not sure if there is a totally different name for that…but here is my most recent poem.
With lips pierced tight and eyes turned away,
If only they knew,
Might their heart be turned too?
Gone are the days of fair pink cheeked maidens,
In their golden hair bright flowers,
Now, dark as ancient towers.
The colors of life blotted out by strange inks,
Gone are the vibrant colors of blues, reds and pinks.
Now a masquerade of mystery and gloom,
The once lovely face it does now consume.
What work of evil,
What work of deceit,
Robs them of such beauty
Which from them will soon fleet?
How could they except this,
Believe it is true,
That true beauty comes from the you they never knew?
I know it is not true,
Since some I do know,
In happiness they thrive and in cheerfulness they grow,
But when in ink their portrait they take,
I see the girl I never knew…full of sadness and most of all fake.
There is a saying which I know to be true,
“A picture is worth a thousand words”
What does your picture say about you?
I wrote this after seeing how so many girls try to hide their true beauty when they post pictures of themselves on their internet sites…blogger, facebook, etc. They always seem to have to distort their image by giving an evil or myserious look or turning the colors to sepia or dark colors. I know that this may be the "fashion" but I think that smiles and bright cheerful colors makes an even greater statement.

Great poem!
2 Corinthians 5:17
Wow, that's a great poem! :) May I post it on a blog me and a friend post at?

Everyone needs a friend,
Who will stick with them to the end.
A friend who points us above,
Is a friend who deserves our love.
When to the Lord our time we lend,
He helps us be a better friend.
Friends memorize together
And do things that will last forever.
If you want a friend that will last forever,
Then serve God for his friendship will never sever.

Thank you for your encouraging words! :) please visit, we love readers! :)
I know! Thank you :)
Edit: by the way, who may I give the credit to for the authorship of the poem? :)

My name on my blog and internet sites is Evangela Grace….so you can put that if you would like. (Evangela is my real name and Grace is my middle name) Or you can just say a friend, or whatever you want. I'm not real picky about making sure people know that I wrote it and all that copyright stuff. I am just glad that perhaps the poem could be an encouragement to other girls. Just put whatever is easiest for you!

I have a poem I'd like to share:
SOMETIMES
Sometimes I have the longing,
Sometimes I have the plea,
An urge in my body,
To know how another life would be.
How does that person think?
How does he see?
I would really like that view,
For one second to be.
If I had the chance,
I’d satisfy my want,
For every little second,
That long inside me haunts.
~Emily

I like that poem! I know how you feel, too. I always wonder, what does that person feel like? It can also help us to obey the Golden Rule.

Well, it's been about a month since I wrote my last poem), and I've finally gotten around to writing another one. It's a versification of Job 28:
Surely there are silver mines,
A place where man his gold refines;
Iron is passed through cavern doors,
Copper is smelted from its ores…
But where shall one his wisdom find?
Where hides the understanding mind?
Man has not heard of its worth,
Nor is it found in those on earth…

Hey guys, I just started a new blog at www.2TimothyPoetry.blogspot.com just for poems! I'll be posting some of the poems and songs I've written, and pretty soon I'll have a form up so that anyone who wants to send me a poem could get it posted on there as well. I've also got a poetry contest I'll be posting pretty soon. For any of you poetry "buffs," you might want to check this out. :)
Mommy's Helper
Great! I'll check is out :)
I'm turning 10 and I can't wait
But it'd be sad if at Nats I was late
Then my birthday wouldn't be happy at all
I'd probably lie down and bawl.

It would be cool if we made a book with a bunch of us Memverses' poems. ;)

I love to write books and poems! ^Oh no! do I see another project coming my way….^

To wade in the creek the farm girl goes,
Were the cool water streams over her toes
To see it ripple and swirl like lace
To feel the wind blow on her face
And to smell the sweet primrose.
The sun shines on auburn hair, a sweet song fills the air
As her song sets sail there is nothing that forms in her a care
Nothing that will destroy her song or her happiness tare
Emily H
That would be super cool!!!!!
Sarah- LIKE!!! :D

I edited a poem several years ago, does that count?
ORIGINAL:
Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
Sugar is sweet,
And so are you.
ONCE I WAS DONE WITH IT:
Some roses are red,
And violets are violet,
Sugar is sweet,
But not very quiet.
Andrew
That isn't how it goes…
Red is for roses,
Violets are blue,
Monkeys pick their noses,
And so do you. :D
Margaret Eddy
The rhythm isn't quite right.
Andrew
Well, excuse me! I wasn't speaking directly to you by verse.
Margaret Eddy
I know.

Steps to being a backward Artiste
- E - estimate how long it will take you to:
- T - take time to write all your friends in a language only you know.
- S - stare at your nose till you're cross-eyed permanently.
- I - identify twelve things in the room that are the same color as your nose.
- T - try to forget everything you just learned.
- R - read it all over again.
- A - act on it!

FOLDING LAUNDRY
Folding laundry,
Oh, how I hate
Laundry!
Dad
Is folding laundry right
Now, and I am very
Grateful that I am done.
Laundry is boring
And
Useless. Will we
Never
Get to NOT do laundry?
Really, I don't see the
Yuckiness of dirty cloth.

BOBSLEDDING
Bobsledding
Oh,
Bobsledding is
So fun! I would
Love to bobsled
Every day! But I
Do not think
I can; for I have
Never
Gone bobsledding before.
WISDOM
Will this earth never be wise?
We are all fools in God's eyes.
Wisdom stands out in the streets:
This she calls to everyone she meets:
"Come be wise,
Stop those lies!"
This she shouts:
"Come to my house.
Oh learn wisdom's ways
Be wise the rest of your days!"
But though wisdom the world desperately needs,
Wisdom's wise call no one heeds.
For all alike have gone astray,
We never will go Wisdom's way.
SPIDERS
Spiders
please, go away!
I
Do not like
Even one spider
'Round the house!
So go away, spiders!
PRAISE THE LORD
God made the flowers and the trees
He made the birds; he made the bees;
All this beauty the world sees:
Praise the Lord!
He made the snow; he made the grass
He made the shark; he made the bass
All pow'r on earth and heav'n he has:
Praise the Lord!
He made man from lumps of earth
He made woman to give birth
Which makes us full of joy and mirth!
Praise the Lord!
On a cross His Son did die;
He did this for you and I:
And in heaven we'll all cry:
"Praise the Lord!"

I walked into a tiny house
Upon a little hill,
Thought I, "This house has nothing good,
Its window has no sill!"
But then I heard a little note,
And then a pretty sound,
I walked into a tiny room,
A musician I found!
Thought I, "Oh, I was very wrong,
Before I heard that sound,
I thought the house was useless, but
A piano I then found!
I sat and listened for a while
To the beautiful song,
And then I said out loud to him,
"I'll listen all day long!"

The robber crept up to the house
As still and quiet as a mouse
He reached into his full pocket
And slyly then did piclock it.
He slowly opened up the door
But of success he was so sure
He forgot to be still and soft
As he climbed into the kid’s loft
The ladder squeaked, and then he screamed
For then he knew he would get creamed
For looking up at him – Oh, help!
A big strong man let out a yelp
Of joy of capturing the man
Who even had stolen a van
Was feared by all the countryside
But now he had no place to hide.
A fierce and violent struggle came
'Twas a true fight, not a mere game.
Eventually the good guy won.
The squall was past, the fight was done.
The robber was dragged off to jail
The good guy got – oh, SO much mail!
Letters full of thanks, love and praise
If you like him, your hand please raise.

Spring Has Come at Last
(c) Emmy S. April 2014
A vivid green is in the leaves;
How happy are the leafy trees.
Tranquility is in the breeze
And busy, bustling are the bees.
Spring– oh Spring! has come at last!
With all that's lovely it is classed.
The bitter sting of winter's past
And spring has come at last.
The sky is fresh and merry blue
And glorious sunshine cascades through.
Across the brook a ripple blew
And cherry blossoms add their hue.
Spring– oh Spring! has come at last!
With all that's lovely it is classed.
The bitter sting of winter's past
And spring has come at last.
A sparrow comes, a song he sings;
A rabbit soon sweet bunnies brings.
A sleepy owl spreads his wings
And deer, with grace, drink from the springs.
Spring– oh Spring! has come at last!
With all that's lovely it is classed.
The bitter sting of winter's past
And spring has come at last.

All the Praise
By Hannah W_____
Yummy grapes and cherries grow
Farther down fall bits of snow
These the glory of God show
All the praise to God must go.
Oh! The fish! The sharks and cod
The horizion oh so broad
Ah! The Lord deserves much laud,
All the praise must go to God.
The cows made on grass to graze
The mule (and the donkey who brays)
All these do people amaze;
To God must go all the praise.

A QUESTION:
Here's a question for us both:
Do we have the grace
To go find someone poor and sad
And give them an embrace?
I do know the answer right
For both of us, you see,
The answer is a shameful no
Our only thought is "Me".
by the way, it might not be true, except the last line.
