@SoloScriptura - I very much firmly agree that this election is very, very critical indeed! I would just like to comment that, while I agree it is important and will most certainly pray for God's will to be done, I don't think that the election will completely determine the path of the nation. Presidents have limited power (praise the Lord!) and, though capable of doing great good, I don't think a good president will be able to turn the hearts of Americans to God - only God has that kind of power. So yes, I will be praying for the election and count it as VERY crucial, but I don't think that a good president alone will be able to reverse the decline in the US. God Himself must work in people's hearts and we must submit ourselves to be His tools of righteousness.

I have a prayer request: my aunt really doesn't like her current employment, and it's not just her being sour - people are mean and it's just a bad environment. She's gone to look at another job elsewhere in the country…she lives near to us right now, and I wouldn't like her to leave, but if this job is right for her and what God wants, then of course I want her to get it. So pray for this situation that all goes according to God's will.

Also, my grandparents (whom I am close to) are Catholic and sometimes I worry if they're Christians. I think that people can be in a church that teaches the wrong gospel and still be Christians themselves…but I do worry about it. I have tried to talk to my grandmother about it (not very directly at all, though). Pray for them and pray that I have wisdom and peace.

Also, the father of a family at our church has Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, a kind of cancer. I kind of know the children, and though we're not very close, I know his daughter is very sweet. Him and his family really need prayers for this difficult time.

One of the mothers at our church, whose young daughters I play with a lot, has a sister who is a doctor. She is not only pro-abortion but is considering making it her specialty. Please pray for God to regenerate her spirit so that her blind eyes can see and her heart be turned to God, and pray for the protection of unborn children.

Pray for our local Bible Bee, which my dear mother is hosting!

I also have a friend who gets a lot of bad migraines. Pray for her.

I don't expect you to pray day and night for these things, but I will appreciate any prayers you do offer up to the Most High. :)

God's Maiden of Virtue, that sounds very painful and unfortunate. I will pray for you!

I'm having surgery this morning to implant a distraction osteogenesis device into my skull. Four screws will be drilled into my skull and a metal halo will be set into the front half of my head. The device comes down and hooks up to a device already cemented in my mouth. Then, over the whole summer, we'll be adjusting the appliance every day to move my upper jaw forward. That process is called "distraction," and the osteogenesis part means that as my jaw is moved forward, my body will be creating new bone for itself to fill in the gaps left behind.

Please pray that the surgery goes well and that I won't be too miserable after it's over. Thank you!

The surgery is scheduled for 8:00 EDT.

I have a prayer request: I have tennis and golf elbow/arm and it's getting worse from playing instruments and using the computer but I really love playing music and I want to keep up with everyone on the computer so I would like prayer that it will get better. Thanks! :)

My aunt got back from Oregon (where she was checking on the job) and she got a job offer! She just needs to clear the background check. Everything seems to be providentially ordered in place.

Thank you all for your prayers! The surgery was successful. In addition to screwing the appliance into my skull, the doctor also dislocated my upper jawbone, so that was an unexpected part of the surgery. My jaw is just hanging down in my mouth until it's stretched out far enough to be back to normal. So I have pain both in my head and in my jaw. And it's really hard to eat. But all things considered, I'm doing pretty well. Again, thank you for the prayers! I'll be trying to update my profile picture so you guys can see what I look like. ;)

Not really. Originally it was going to be 28 days; then it turned into 10 weeks; then it was 3 months, and I was getting it off in September; and now I'm told I should get it off in August. I don't really know what to think. :P Hopefully it'll be off before the world ends on December 21! ;)

Yeah, pretty much. Some sounds are hard to make, but I can communicate well. It hurts to enunciate very much though. And I can't laugh without it hurting either. But I'm making it. :)

After I posted yesterday, I was told by some family members to speak normally as that would put less strain on my throat (or some scientific explanation like that). So I spoke normally.
I woke up this morning and couldn't speak above a whisper. Then my voice started breaking and I can speak more 'normally' now. Please pray for continued healing.

I'm actually feeling pretty well. As of today, we stopped turning the screws to bring my jaw forward–it's as far as it needs to go. Now I just have to wait out the summer for bone to grow in and fill the gap.

I'm sleeping well, and I'm basically able to do everything I was able to do before. But I'm not allowed to run or participate in sports or anything. The only thing that's still hard is eating certain things. I'm still eating a lot of yogurt and pudding and applesauce. But I'm able to eat stuff like hot dogs and cheeseburgers and ham if I tear them into small pieces. So I'm basically eating like a 1-year-old. :P

I'm not sure if I'll have it on at locals. The original time I was supposed to get it off wasn't going to be until September. But then the doctor, after the surgery, said sometime in August. So I might. But I really don't care either way. I can talk almost totally normally, and I've gotten over how I look. I've been out in public A LOT, so I don't really worry about what people will think of me. Plus, we have a Bible Bee event next Saturday, so most of the other kids will have a chance to get used to me then. ;)

That's great that you are doing better! I kind of know what it's like to "eat like a 1-year-old" :) I've have so much orthodontic work done over the last six years, and it always seems like I get their newest and latest inventions for the mouth. Many days of eating "yogurt and pudding and applesauce" too :) But none of it has been as bad as your sounds.

We found out this morning that our Dad got a raise!!!!! He hasn't had one in years-10 to 12, to be more precise-and it was exciting news for us (especially one of my little sisters: "Maybe I'll get to do dance class this year!")!!

I have a praise and two prayer requests.

There is a family in our church who moved to Texas a few years ago for the dad's work. They came back to NC for a while and then moved back, but their oldest son-Wilson-stayed behind to get a job. He moved into a camper that some relatives left on our property. As of today, he has been living there for almost five months.
Last night, on his way to work, he was involved in a three car collision caused by a drunk driver. He was banged up and and ended up in the hospital with a hurt shoulder but was allowed to go home-he wasn't hurt that badly (praise the LORD!). However, his car was totaled and he's feeling pretty stiff right now, so I would appreciate prayer for his complete healing and also prayer for wisdom as he works with his insurance companies and figures out what he needs to do.

Also, there is a young man in our church who is the oldest child in a family of six boys and two girls who recently started having seizures. Please pray that his doctors would have wisdom as to how to deal with him and that his family would have comfort.

I will be praying for them. BTW- What Bible Bee are you going to in NC?

Please pray for our nation. The Senate is currently considering the United Nations Convention on the Right of Persons with Disabilities. This treaty would put the U.S. under international law when it comes to disabled people. The U.N. and the government would be able decide anything and everything about special needs people, no matter what their parents or loved ones - who know best what they need - say.

This treaty would be a major blow for parental rights. Please pray, and if you can, take action through HSLDA (http://action.hslda.org/7215/urgent-calls-needed/?m=3306969) and/or Patriot Voices (https://patriotvoices.wufoo.com/forms/take-a-stand-against-crpd/).

PRAY that those you invite and boldness for all who will be inviting to the outreach. Pray that God would prepare the heart of each unsaved person.

Hi all, can you please pray for our family? Our 15-passenger van has broken down and we can't figure out what's wrong with it. Please pray that we can get it fixed on or before Friday. Otherwise, we will have to borrow our grandparents to take us to Locals and maybe not all of our family will be able to go.
