Hey everyone! Tomorrow night I want to have a bonfire party on Memverse to welcome the summer! I will be sending out a email invitation.
I will be hosting and plan to have some topics of discussion ready if we need help . But people really show up we shouldn't need too much help! :)

So, show up at about 9:30 EST and we'll carrie it into the night!

It'll probably be too late for me! =(

BIG ANNOUNCEMENT: Form the plural of an acronym or initialism by adding a lowercase s. Do not use an apostrophe (CARs, DVDs).

So I ran across this while I was reading a writers' handbook just now. This is exactly what I thought was the case, but I have seen "CDs" so often with an apostrophe lately (including on the Bible Bee website, and here on our beloved Memverse) that I was beginning to doubt myself.

So this is the takeaway: unless a CD owns something, please do not inflict a possessive apostrophe on it.

So what do you do if you're talking about the 1950(')s? Do you put an apostrophe?

An apostrophe should be placed before dates to indicate if you have removed numbers (like '15 instead of 2015), but not after, unless it is possessive of the year 1950 (like "the 1950's graduating class…"), or unless the 1950s possess something, but then the apostrophe would be after the "s"…
