Ten more Days?!?!?!
Are you and your family doing okay?
Did you ever get a new car?
Christine Daaé (Dani the Older)
TEN DAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@Jessica: Yes, we got the new car. I'm not thrilled about it- the only things that reconcile me to it is that the CD player takes six CDs, and I have a speaker in my space. XD
And yes, we're doing fine. In fact, great!

NINE DAYS!!!!!!!
Hope you and your family are doing good. :-)
You mentioned that you wrote a full-length book; what is it? You don't have to tell me what the plot is or anything, I'm just curious about what subject it's under, like fantasy, science-fiction, historical fiction, ext. I'm writing fantasy/science-fiction myself. :-) Science- fiction as in "Lord of the Rings", not aliens in outer space.
What is your favorite kind of music to listen do? I listen to a variety depending on what mood I'm in at the time.
Are you reading any good books lately? I just finished a book called "Lessons from a Sheepdog" by Phillip Keller, and it was pretty good. Kinda short, but still good. We're reading another called "Beyond the Desert Gate" by Mary Ray, and it's good too.
What's your favorite color? Mine's blue, and my second favorite is green.
By the way, I was wondering about your thread "Birds and Birding", and this is only a suggestion, just wondered what you'd think. What do you think about writing about a bird that you know about every day, explaining what they look like, about how big they are, what their song is like, how they act, and so on? If you want, I could do a few birds, too. Just wondered. :-)

EIGHT DAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's kind of fantasy, kind of a Narnia type. It's in the editing stage right now, which is really exciting!
Classical, hymns, mainly, and various other things, for example, my Dad and Grandpa like John Denver (old country), so I listen to that, and gospel music, etc.
I'm reading a Henty book called The Orange and The Green. I prefer Ballantyne, but…
I really like blue. After that, I guess white is my second favorite.
Hmm… That would be fun, the problem is, at least right now, we don't have Internet at our house, and we only get to the library once or twice a week. But that's a good suggestion for when we do get it, which we will, because now we have to.

Christine Daaé (Dani the Older)
Alaska is a beautiful home state. Palmer is gorgeous! But it's not home. 4 days until we get home!!!!!!
God's Maiden of Virtue
YAY!!
Courtney M.
So since it's been four days since you've posted that, you must be home! :D
Sarah B.
gives you a big hug
Would you like me to send you a list of good informative midwife/birth books sometime? I really should do that…… can't believe I didn't think of that before. :)
Jessica Rankin
Hi, Arwen!
Hope you and your family are doing good. :-)
Are you back home yet? What's it like to be back home after being away for so long? I can't even imagine what that must be like.
Are you used to your new car yet?
Are you reading any good books lately?
Have you seen any neat birds?
Evie, Child of Grace
Hi Dani! Is all well with y'all? I've missed "seeing" you around on here.
How are you settling in?
How long are your days this time of year?
Christine Daaé (Dani the Older)

We are hoe, and it's the most wonderful thing ever, though I still pinch myself occasionally to see if it's real… And it's so nice to be back with the same people every week. XD
Yup, used to the new car and enjoying it's six-CD system!
I read the A.D. Chronicles by Bodie and Brock Theone, and it's really neat to read it alongside my Nats study. However, I would not recommend it for ANYBODY younger than me, and I would still be hesitant to recommend it to other kids older than me.
I saw Varied Thrushes so much this summer! It's been really neat. And there were around a hundred redpolls, Common and Hoary, in the driveway yesterday!
Christine Daaé (Dani the Older)

Our days are just under twelve hours right now, I think.
Christine Daaé (Dani the Older)
I found out something about myself recently that's apparently not a normal thing- I can pick up just about any instrument and make some semblance of sense out of it! I'm so thankful for that…
Andrew
Do you play the flute much, anymore?
Christine Daaé (Dani the Older)
Yeah, that's my best instrument at the moment.
Christine Daaé (Dani the Older)
The root cellar is 38*.
There is no particularly noticeable difference between the root cellar and the basement.
Our camp shower is in the basement.
Something is wrong with this picture.
MilesChristiSum
So your saying you guys need a sauna; or that you cant stand showering in a cold room?
Sarah B.
You have my sympathy! We don't have hot water at all!!! 0.o
Christine Daaé (Dani the Older)
Well 38 is a little chilly…
Christine Daaé (Dani the Older)
So do you heat water on the stove, too?
Sarah B.
Yep! :P
Christine Daaé (Dani the Older)
ponders the occasional unnerving trip across the house with a pot of water that was just boiling in your hand
Oy. I cannot wait until we get a water heater. Maybe someday we'll even have a real shower!
Sarah B.
Yeahhhh! I understand that! :/
But we should have hot water again in like two days…….. (too long).
Christine Daaé (Dani the Older)
Too long? I would not believe it if I were told I was going to get hot water in two days… Count you blessings! XD
Sarah B.
Too long? I would not believe it if I were told I was going to get hot water in two days... Count you blessings! XD
I will! Yeah… it could be worse. A lot worse!
Praying for you!
Christine Daaé (Dani the Older)
Thanks.
Christine Daaé (Dani the Older)
We now have a new string of gasp ^LED^ lights! Light in the kitchen! It's wonderful. x)
Evie, Child of Grace
I don't suppose y'all've (how's that for a contraction! XD) been to a Sacred Harp singing yet?
Christine Daaé (Dani the Older)
No… Probably after Nats. I keep pushing for it though, and we sing Babylon is Fallen every now and then.
Evie, Child of Grace
OK. I'll be praying for you this week! Hope the competition goes well. :)
I think of you every time we sing that song. :)
As a warning, if/when you go you may be surprised at the sort of people who are there. People sing Sacred Harp for all sorts of reasons, so there may be a bunch of true Christians praising the Lord from their hearts or a group of youngsters with funky hair and body piercing. Likely a mix. Now I'm afraid I'm discouraging you from going, but I don't want you to be totally surprised. I am continually and increasingly blessed by how God has used both the music and the people in my life. :)

Repenting Rebel???
Evie, Child of Grace
_Repenting Rebel_???
It’s from a hymn by Isaac Watts (from our Sacred Harp book ;) ):
Show pity Lord; O Lord forgive, / Let a repenting rebel live; / Are not thy mercies large and free? / May not a sinner trust in thee?
My crimes, tho’ great, cannot surpass / The pow’r and glory of thy grace; / Great God, thy nature hath no bound; / So let thy pard’ning love be found.
Yet save a trembling sinner, Lord, / Whose hope still hov’ring round thy word / Would light on some sweet promise there, / Some sure support against despair.
Christine Daaé (Dani the Older)
Yeah, I've gathered that. I'm not too worried about it. We have so many weird characters around here…

oh.. :p
Evie, Child of Grace
Good. :)
@ Sam or Gloria..whoever you are: What does that mean? ^..and do I want to know?^
Christine Daaé (Dani the Older)
I just realized a few days ago that I have a slight cleft chin….. XD
All those years of learning genetics, and using the example of a cleft chin, and saying, "Oh, such-and-such a person has one… This person doesn't…. I don't…."
Gloria
Good. :) @ Sam or Gloria..whoever you are: What does that mean? ^..and do I want to know?^
What does what mean? :)
Evie, Child of Grace
Sorry, I thought you were Sam at first, so the :p face could mean…well, lots of things (hence the "do I want to know")! :) And I'm still sort of figuring out what some of these emoticons signify, but I didn't choose a kind way to ask, and I'm sorry. :)
2 Corinthians 5:17
It was SOOO nice meeting you Dani! :D
Christine Daaé (Dani the Older)
Yes, you too! We must talk sometime!
Rose Tyler
I'm so glad I was able to go! It was sooooo great to meet you!
